I get a call from this number atleast once per week.They
never leave a recorded message,so I concluded that it is
some kind of phone solicitation.Is this person or company
is trying to sell me something or not?I do not want to spend
a dollar to call them back.So I go to Google.com before
I call anybody back.I Google.com the phone number,and this

Try to say they were calling from the chamber of commerce. when I ask from which one they said California. He asked if we we located on a certain street, cause we have been flagged for frogs (I think he met fraud) his english was bad. I repeated FROGS and he hung up. I used to work as a western union agent and this was one of those calls, who trys to ripped you off. they are thiefs. The number is in the San Antoino Texas area. please be careful.

210-533-8042 - ditto. I live in CA. last 4 days this number calls my cell 3 to 4 times a day. as soon as i see the number come up i hit "ignore call" on my blackberry screen and it goes away.

210.533.8042 - No company name was listed on CallerID.  I work in LA; they pretended to be some unknown web directory calling under the pretense of verifying our company's information.  "Are you still at 123 Main St?"  I hung up on the jerk.  It's a common scam for phishers to record you saying "yes" to questions.  A year down the road, you might start getting collections calls from a bogus telephone directory company.  When you yell emphatically, "I've never ordered anything from you," they'll play back a recorded message where you say yes to a lot of questions and you'll get scared and pay them.  This year I had to file a complaint with the NY State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Postmaster General for this exact reason.  Don't answer their questions and don't pay the scammers.

Calls from this number come to both lines at our home. Never leaves a message.

Received a call at 7:30am PST from this caller ID showing "Unknown" name.

I keep missing a call from 210 533-8042, everytime I call back...it says the call cannot be completed as dialed.

Whom ever this is never leaves a message.

Keep getting calls from this number too. Now when I see the number on the Caller ID I pick up and then immediately hang it up again (within a second).

Note: When you get a call and it is obvious the other end is "dead" (you can tell, it sounds like the line is dead) it is likely from a machine dialer. Once it gets an answer it transfers you to a human. This takes a few seconds. Whenever I pick up the phone (from any number) and it appears the line is dead I immediately hang up. I "know" it is from someone I don't want to talk to.

i have the same problem.Who ever call ,it is several time a day.

9:50am just got a call at our medical office from a woman saying she was "Kris from the State Chamber of Commerce calling to confirm that we are moving next year"  When I advised her we were not moving, and asked who told her that (as I was suspicious already, seeing the area code), she replied "we have in our records that you are moving next year.  Maybe you are just adding on?"  No......   She was definitely fishing (phishing?) for information.  I called back and got the "unable to complete your call as dialed" message.

SOmeone called stating that they were calling from the Better Business Bureau. They were such liars. Had alot of info on us, asking if we were moving our business, expanding and such, a real piece of work, even he even was lying about the phone number when i asked what is your number. Dont trust these people. Who are they?

Annoying calls with no one on the other line.

i live in CA. this number calls my cell about 2-3 times a week. ive answered once but they just hung up. Now i just silence them every time they call.

This number calls my office 2-3 times a day. I have never answered it and they never leave a message.

have gotten a number of calls over the last few weeks, including one today.  "Russell" from the "Better Business Bureau" asks to confirm our business' address, then asks about a pending move.  when pressed on the purpose of his call, he claims he is updating our business profile for his files.  calling the number gives the "disconnected" message.  we are in the SF Bay Area.

For a week or longer they have been calling and hanging up

Extremely irritating.

I'm assuming they are attempting to sell their web listing service.
No idea how we got on their list but I hate it.

Looks like this operation is up and running again, as of February, 2008. Are code 210 is San Antonio, Texas.  The fact that they don't use an 800 number is interesting; if they had a normal phone line using a regular area code like 210 whould cost them everytime the called party answered or whenever the called party's answering machine answers, but some internet phone services now allow fake area code designations for the calling party and unlimited calls under certain circumstances. This allows boiler room operations anywhere in the world to appear on your caller ID as an actual area code so you are more likely to pick-up and answer, thinking that it may be important.  It's just a scam.

I'm in Ventura County (So. Cal) & getting these calls regularly. I press the receive button on my fax machine to play a nice warble tone for them. Just keep not answering, they eventually they give up - been down this road before with another caller.

I'm also receiving calls from this number.  I have received to calls within the hour. I'm located in sf bay area.

Just like everybody else only this is a business & I'm getting approx 5 calls a day,they just hang up. Did a Google search , no info available. It does say they're out of Texas & Southwestern Bell

Received 2 phone calls today from this number. Didn't answer as it came up unknown, and I don't know anyone in South Texas.
Didn't leave messages either.
Won't be answering if they call again!

Accented female voice asked to speak to the "owner or manager". I asked, owner or manager of what, and responded that my number was residential(now I am worried that I probably shouldn't have said that).  She apologized and hung up.  I get numerous calls from that number and was just fed up enough to finally answer

She wanted to speak with owner or manager. And I asked her what is the regarding. Then she said she was calling from some company that I could not hear well, but something to do with the city I live. And she wants to discuss about on-line business. I told her I am not interested, and take off my number from the list. And she said she would.

I got a call from this number and they said they were from zipweb.com.  They wanted my contact information to put my business on the site.  She sounded shady and I told her I'd look at the site and call her back, "can I get you number..." She hung up!

Just got a call from (210) 533-8042. No message was left.
