Please block this number from clogging my incoming lines.

Get more than one call a week from GHI. There is a reason they do not list their company name. I had to do online search to determine who they are. I never pickup the call and they do not ever leave a message. Gross inconvenience since I gave grave responsibilities in caring for my household. Any suggestion on how to get rid of them.

They are so annoying !!!! I have my cellphone just for emergencies or something that I really need, and they thing they can dial your number as may times they want !!! How can I sue them???

Got a call from this number.  I answered it to give 'em hell, but no one was on the line and it disconnected after about 4 second.  Just as well.  B*****ds.

Be careful - impersonating a police officer is a criminal offense.  I did the same thing once and decided against it in the future.  People have definitely been indicted for this...

Caller ID reads, GHI, They called at 8:46 central time in Texas.   That is awfully late.  I hooked up line to fax machine.  I never answer numbers I do not recognize.  Curiosity never gets the best of me.  These people are all scammers.

Called my cell phone this time.  Since October I have written a lot more about telemarketers:

"YOU ARE A TELEMARKETER, AND I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ANY COMPANY THAT USES TELEMARKETING AS A FORM OF ADVERTISING" (stolen from a comment on this web site -- I love it).  And do not answer name unavailable ever as calls are now starting to say that often.  Another comment from this web site says: When you press the number to have your number removed, all you do is confirm that your number is a working one.  Now I either block the numbers or I don't answer the phone at all.  Another comment was:  They sold your known active number to another scammer!!!  That is what they do when you call them back to opt out.  SO DON?T HAVE YOUR NUMBER REMOVED!

Let me explain my idea of ROBO CALLS. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). The program starts calling every number that it can in succession.  So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone.  I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site (9,999,98 numbers more to copy and paste to)

NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP THESE SCAMMERS AND LAZY COLLECTION AGENCIES (statute of limitations on debt:  http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml)  who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective..  DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.

So, just block them, DON'T ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls.  If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back.  No problem.  It?s a lot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, and making my own excel spreadsheet of numbers) but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional.  Another smart person on this web site said to save it to your contacts as spam 1, then spam 2, etc. so you can just ignore the call.

Not only that reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.

So it's good advice to remember to just say no to anyone who solicits over the phone unless you actually know the person calling.

We it three calls in a row from this number....back to back. Finally my husband answered. The guy asked if we owned the house and gave our address. My husband said no we're renting and the guy hung up!

These people have called five times this month, so far.  I don't answer but in stead do what an operator told me to do, when the phone rings, answer and press the # four or five times and that confuses their computer.

GOOD  for you.  Angie's List should do more quality control.  They are rapidly developing a bad reputation.   I won't use them for just reason.

You do realize that Angie's list is a RATINGS site?  you write a review about that person/company, and those reviews are aggregated according to area, company, person, job, etc...?  Angie's list doesn't DO anything to a company... nor does Angie's list 'list' a company -- YOU list a company by making a review.  

You looked on Angie's list, and people hadn't complained about the guy... ok, fine.  Then he messed you over, and went to jail.  Good job!  Write a review back on Angie's List so other people here in San Antonio will KNOW what's happening.  

To put this in perspective, is it Yelp's fault a restaurant sucks?  Are you going to blame Yelp?

--- back on topic --- As far as GHI goes, I'm already hammering them for not obeying the rules regarding Do Not Call lists.

If we really want these calls to stop, the answer is really simple.  Contact your congressmen about changing the law.  Currently the FCC and FTC can fine these companies but the problem is, the owners and operators are protected as the company is an LLC.  So the company gets the fines and the fact is, when they get caught, they will just shut the company down and thus the FCC and FTC don?t see a dime and even if they do, it won?t be much anyway.  The owners and operators have already made their money and will just start a new company tomorrow and continue to make money.  Until the law is changed, this cycle will just repeat itself.  What needs to be done is that the law needs to be changed to make what they do from a civil infraction to a criminal.  This way the owners and operators of these companies cannot just close the doors and walk away, they will be on the hook for the fines and they will also serve time in jail.  This would be the biggest threat to them; their financials and their liberty is at risk for running a telemarketing company like they do.  The issue still comes to finding them, but when they are caught, it is not just a slap on the wrist.  The owners, operators and employees all need to be brought to justice for their crimes.  So ask your representatives to change the law and make illegal telemarketing truly illegal and punishable by fines and prison time.  You should also contact people on the telecommunication committee that can actually write the law for it to be voted on.  When they get sick of hearing the complaints, maybe something will be done about it.

I pissed him off and told him if he called again I would sue him under the Do Not Call Law.

This GHI person called and would not identify himself.  He asked for the homeowner and when I asked who he was, he said he wanted the homeowner and if I was not the homeowner then the call was futile. So, I hung up.
GHI needs to work on their marketing skills.

GHI JUST CALLED OUR NUMBER.  WHEN I ANSWERED, THERE WAS COMPLETE SILENCE.  GLAD I HAVE NOW BLOCKED THEIR NUMBER.  BUT YOU ARE RIGHT, THEY HAVE SEVERAL LINES THEY CAN USE.  THE SAME HAPPENED TO ME WITH ANOTHER TELEMARKETER.

Got a call from these guys. They asked if I was "anon" and I said yes. Then the guy just hung up. If they are in fact telemarketers they seem to be pretty horrible at it.

Angie's List is unreliable.  A contractor we used is now sitting in jail for 9 years after we lost some money to him and he was on Angie's List.

Received a call, no one spoke after I answered, so I hung up.  When I tried to return the call, the message from the phone company was call couldn't go through. Came to this website to check it out.  This is the first time I have received a call from this company.  Fed Up, I appreciate all the hard work you have done to track the info down.
