These people call me at all hours of the day! I answer each and every time but then they don't even talk and just hang up! I answer because I want to get a live person to request they cease calling me. But no one is there to talk to! I have tried calling back and it is usually a busy signal. When I am able to go through it goes to a voicemail and I repeatedly requested to be removed from their list. Still no progress because they are still calling me! It's awful!

I am getting them from 210-587-2213.  But it is still Metro News

I worked there for 3 months to make some extra cash to pay off a credit card. THIS JOB SUCKS!!!

The call center is in San Antonio. When I was there (10 years ago) we sold the Baltimore sun and Waco paper. Total boiler room atmosphere. No cubicles or booths, just 20 people sitting next to each other at picnic type tables.

Management doesn't even trust you to make a sale, you have to ring a bell (yes, an actual bell that your table shares and passes around) to get a supervisor to make the sale.

They paid an extra dollar an hour if you worked 40 hours, but there was no timeclock. You just had to hope the floor manager saw you were there on time.

And the manager (Kevin) was a major a***ole.

There's not a whole lot of jobs in San Antonio, and they take advantage of that,

No message just continue to receive calls from this number - week of December 2, 2007. I received this call while I was in India.

Received call on 061010 @ 3:30pm mst. Rang twice, no one was there, just dial tone! Annoying. We have the security feature: press 1, etc. and they still rang trough as "UNKNOWN NAME".

I have told this people that I was not interested in their paper and to please stop calling me.  Now they call more frequesntly, at least 6 times a day!!  They need to stop!!

I keep getting a call over the last 3 days from this number but when answered no one on the line.

they just called me and didn't say anything at all.   just sat there silent...

Called at 0907 hrs.  ID was "Out of Area".  No Message left.

Called me twice today.  I answer and they hang up.  If it is newspaper in Texas why are they calling MD area code?

This started happening to me this week, calling multiple times, leaving no message and hanging up when I DO answer the phone.  Called the number, after several rings an automated voice answered for Metro News Service, can press an extension if you know one or go to the operator which is not available but I left a message with my phone number and asked to take me off the list, fingers crossed!  Oh and I'll use the "report it" link at the top too!

This is getting out of hand!!!! They have called me 8 times today...and tonight 2 times and the last one was at 9pm!

Just started happening to me. They call me every day and never leave a message.

Repeated calls. When I called the number they answered Metro news service.

These people call me all the time, several times a day when I'm at work.  Recording says they're The Metro News.  They're annoying!  Need to be put out of business.  This company sells subscriptions to several national newspapers, but their businesses practices give the companies using them a very bad reputation.  Would not subscribe to any newspaper through a boiler plate call center rep.

I have been called for several weeks now by this number at the worst times of the day, usually at the rack of dawn or past 7 at night. They never leave a message. I told em to stop calling me and that I am not interested in buying ANYTHING from somebody who calls before I can even get a cup of coffee!

Two calls this week from these guys. We answered the first one since I'm expecting to hear about a new job soon. It was someone selling the Dallas Morning News. Told him, "No thank you, please don't call again and remove us from your call list."

Yeah, that worked. They called the next day at 11:30 am.

Called and said with the Courier Journal newspaper confirming my address to send me absolutely free coupons.  I just had to confirm my address.  A yes or no.

I get a call from this number daily. I'm assuming it's my local paper (Louisville Courier-Journal) based on previous comments here. They're probably calling from San Antonio because the CJ is part of a syndicate that includes papers across the nation.

Why, though, am I getting these calls at all if I'm on the "Do Not Call" list?

Same story...keeps calling my cell phone--annoying!!

My ex-bf works at the location in San Antonio. He said that in order to be removed from the co's dnc list-the caller has to say it 2x in order for them to proceed to place ur # on the list. He stated that most would simply ask to be placed on the dnc list then hang up----which would result in no action. Best  bet-ask to speak to a sup=get name & employee id # and tell 'em to place ur # on the co's dnc list.***Hope this helps some.......

Constantly recieving calls.  There were 6 today starting at 8 am.  This has been a constant for the last 2 weeks or so and they don't leave messages. Maybe this is why they can't sell anything.

I have recieved I don't know how many calls from this company. What is sad is I used to work for one of the papers they call for and would get calls at work asking me to buy the paper of the company I worked for.  They are real geniuses.
