You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt.  If there is a valid debt ask for a statement of the debt to be sent to you by US mail.  If they can't provide that, just ignore 'em.   And tell them to go to hell and that you know it's a scam.

Sounds like a phony debt collector.

I did read that you can ask compmay for a 'written validation notice' I assume it is a written statement showing amount owed, to whom, etc...
You have the right to that and the address to the compmay that is making the calls.

Interesting! They want me to give them $1100 or be arrested! That was the "settlement" amount. Bottom feeders!

That's scary cause they called me from the number and I spoke to a lady and she wanted me to send 1,000 or I could send 380 to settle with them . I told them that I had no money but I have a cousin that is a lawyer and shes a judge too. They were getting mad. So I had my lawyer to call them and they wouldn't answer. But I'm glad that I didn't give them any info and she told me not too.

Waiting to hear back from my lawyer, but it gets better....they call again today from the number 210-598-5555 with the same threats.
I am starting to believe that I have been a victim of identity theft, the bank account they calm I used for the transaction in 2012 was closed in 2008 when the bank was bought by another bank and didn't like that bank and switched banks. In 2012 I was banking with a completely different bank

This number belongs to National Check Mediation, they are stating that I wrote a bad check to a payday loan company. They said that I took a payday loan out in 2012, but the bank they are stating it was deposited in and withdrew the money from closed in 2008. Confused to say they least! Threatening to have me arrested for wire fraud

Received the same phone call from a Daniel Roberts!!! What action have you guys taken?

I received the same call yesterday. I thought it was odd that he never said a name. I figured it was a wrong number, but decided to Google the number. I'm glad I did.

Same thing just happened to me. I asked what county and she said a county that is not even in our state! Her name was Brittany Walker and asked me to send her my attorney's fax number. SO tired of scams!!!!

Same message left for me without any details and requesting my attorney's fax number. The voicemail message caused me to check with the clerk's office to make sure my name was not listed within an open case filed locally--of course it was not. I use to work with the clerk's office, so I know that it would be listed--as our database is updated daily and kept as close to real-time as possible. I'm tired of various annoying calls--wish I could have my information blocked like the wealthy people of this country.

Someone named Daniel Roberts calls stating that they have a case for their county county in my name but of course the caller doesn't state my name. The caller goes further to ask for my attorney's fax number. This is very annoying!
