Nathan Ross works for a pre legal department that handles past due accts. He is calling to offer you a settlement before his company takes you to court. I actually saved over $1300 on an old credit card debt with him.

This "Kevin Peterson" or as he likes to call himself "Officer Kevin" thinks he is one bad a**.  He likes to threathen people that officers are coming to get them at work.  He also told me and my boss that I had committed fraud againt the company and they would have to defend themself in court.  I am going to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office.  Thank goodness my boss knew without a doubt that he was full of bull or it could potentially have cost me my job.

I also got a call from a so called Offiicer Joseph Woody and his supervisor is supposedly Officer Kevin Peterson. The numbers I was called from were 305-748-4717 and 305-600-0215 and a fax number 407-506-0758. He claimed the company he works for, Financial Crime Division is based out of Orlando, FL. They said to pay 804.00 and the 500.00 laon I never even took out would be resolved and I would not be prosecuted for 3 complaints filed against me by a company on line that gave me a alleged loan via Cashnet. This is truly a scam, and I had to close my bank account and make sure they wouldn't do any other thing with my personal information. These crooks even read to me my social security number and other pertinent information I do not want them to have. They threatened me and said the police were coming to my home to pick me up because I did not reply to there demands. I pray that these people or individual is cought and I would love to be there when they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. if any one would like to contact me regarding this incident, please feel free to call me at 757-506-2887.

They are no sooner going to send police to your house than George Bush is likely to be elected to a third term...

The calls are most likely originating from a call center based in either Mumbai or Delhi, India (although the firm also has offices in Ukraine, Macedonia, Indonesia, Guatemala and Taiwan).

File a complaint with the FTC!  Good luck!

I just recieved a call stating I would be arrested if we did not pay a 730.00 bill.  The caller stated he was from the United Legal dept of San Antiono, Tx.  The caller stated his name was Michael Clark and demanded I Western Union the funds today.  I keep asking him what the bill was and he would not give me much infomation as to what overdue bill I owed.  He had my SS# and Name.  He repeatedly demanded the money and hung up on me.  I called him back to get more information.  Only to have him berate me about the amount owed.  He stated he was going to call my boss, Which he did and left a message on his voicemail as well.  He called back and was givin no real information other than he was being investagated for fraud and we would be served tomorrow with papers.

First and foremost, what this man does is more than a little illegal. He has no ties to law enforcement or any law-associated agency for that matter. He cannot threaten to have you arrested nor demean your character. If he calls you back, demand to know exactly who it is he works for, the original account he is referring to, and the number for the original debtor. By law, he must provide this information.

Should this fail, demand a physical address and send a "cease and desist" letter demanding he end all phone contact and have all future correspondence by mail. By law, if after receiving this letter he contacts you by phone, he is violating many statutes. Of course, upon receiving your letter, he may call you one more time to acknowledge he will not be contacting you by phone any longer.

Hope this helps!

Don't fall for this scam. This is a group of criminals that was originally based in Florida and, after the Florida attorney general began pursuing them, fled for Georgia.  Like many criminals, they go by various names: Bass & Associates/United Legal Investigations Bureau/United Federal Bank/Impact Business Marketing/Ellis Crosby & Associates/States Predisposition Services/Jackson Phillips & Associates and many others.

Though their aliases vary, their method never does. Masquerading as bankers, debt collectors, police, or other government officials, these crooks call consumers and attempt to extort money with a myriad of illegal false threats. These threats are always phony and include arresting you, ruining your credit rating, serving you "papers" for a lawsuit and, yes, taking your children away from you.  In one recent phone call to a consumer, these crooks even pretended to be on a walkie talkie coordinating a police raid of the consumer's home.  Granted, this stuff is laughably ridiculous, but, sadly, some people fall for it.

Fortunately, law enforcement authorities and the press have taken notice of these crooks. Check out this recent article from the Florida Times-Union: http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/120107/met_221875639.shtml

And these links explain more about this criminal operation:
http://forums.treemedia.com/fb/showpost.php?s ... 75&postcount=90
http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/ellis_crosby_and_associates.htm

There are a lot of 800Notes reports on the many phone numbers these grifters use. These two are typical: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-918-3844
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-678-954-0520

Since they've already made an illegal threat against you, I suggest you do all the following:

1) Give them nothing. And tell them nothing other than to "cease all communication" with you.

2) Report all your information to the Federal Trade Commission here: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

3) File a complaint with your state's attorney general. The contact infor for each state's attorney general is at www.naag.org

4) Report all the same information to Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum at http://myfloridalegal.com/contact.nsf/contact?Open&Section=Attorney_General

5) Report all the same information to the Georgia Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs at http://consumer.georgia.gov/00/channel_modifi ... 5687815,00.html

6) File a complaint with your local police.

7) Give the FBI a heads-up about this phone call. You can give them the details online at https://tips.fbi.gov

8) Should you want to contact an attorney to defend your rights and pursue these crooks, there are plenty of consumer law professionals who work on contingency in matters like this. Here are links to websites that either provide attorney referrals or are law firms that specialize in suing outlaw debt collectors:

Consumer Advocate Bud Hibbs - http://www.budhibbs.com/First.htm
National Association of Consumer Advocates - http://members.naca.net/findanattorney.php
Warren & Vullings, LLP - http://www.fairdebtlawyers.com/
My Fair Debt - http://www.myfairdebt.com/
Consumer Counsel Group - http://www.consumercounselgroup.com/

If someone attempted to break into your home to steal your belongings, you would probably contact law enforcement. This case is no different. Don't let these criminals at United Federal Bank/Bass/Jackson Phillips/States Predisposition victimize you. Contact the authorities and help put this crime syndicate out of business. Good luck.

Received voicemail message from a person by the name of Michael Clark indicating that I was involved in a lawsuit and was being arrested for fraud. He stated that I was a criminal and should not be working at the company which employs me. I indicated to this person that he did not have the legal right to call my place of business and he stated that he would continue to call until he reached my manager.
