Same for me as everyone else - wants to do an IT survey, and the questions and possible answers make little if any sense.  I quit responding and said I didn't have time for the ongoing questions.  This number continues to call, bothering our receptionist and me and won't stop.  Very annoying.  I just pick up and hang up on them now.  They call right back and I do the same thing.  ANNOYING!

I am a receptionist for a large company and these people drive me crazy.  Yes they asked for the IT Manager and Director individually and if one does not answer then they press zero to come back to me to ask for another person in I.T.  I told the lady with a strong accent (sometimes a man calls) that she can leave a voicemail message but they are not going to answer unfamiliar numbers.  She then kept asking for someone else.  I then told her that if she is selling we are not buying.  She said oh no we are not selling, we just want to ask some questions to update our database.  NO you are not getting through to anyone.
If they do not stop calling I will just let them sit on hold.  And I did forward these 800notes about this company to the HR dept.  They want to know about these callers.
SO - THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE COMPANY AND I THINK THEY ARE PHISHING ALSO.  I WOULDN'T GIVE THEM ANY MORE INFO THAN THEY HAVE ALREADY.

I just received a voice message from this number but no message.  Not worth the time, just delete it and monitor caller ID.  The person must not be from the US, because majority of people have caller id's already.

Texas area code but most likely originating from India. Caller always asks first for the IT guy or the IT guy's supervisor (knows their first and last name).
Thanks for all the comments. I have a post-it note with the number near the phone. I'll just hang up next time.

Received call today from 210-892-1190.  Person left some heavy breathing on my voice mail.  Read some of the others that are having issues from speaking with someone at this number.  Blocking this number.  Thanks all!

They're still at it.  An Indian woman wanted to speak to our IT guy, and I sent the call to our special mailbox for all the junk calls we receive.  She called right back and then demanded to speak to our CFO.  When I asked her what her call was regarding, she wouldn't tell me.  I hung up on her with great pleasure!!

I get calls from them about every 3 weeks... I would always tell them to remove this number from their list as we are a governmental agency and are not allowed to share this information. A few times I have gotten fed up and asked for a supervisor.. usually I am hung up on, but did get one once, who promised to remove our number... apparently not.
A complaint has been filed with the FCC for today's call, and will be each time they keep calling me.

Just got a call from the same number and I have a BETTER suggestion.

If you have a phone system that supports this and (preferrably) if you have a flat rate calling plan where you pay a fixed cost per moth for unlimited calling....then..

SET YOUR PHONE SYSTEM TO FORWARD ALL CALLS FROM 2310.892.1190 to the security guy at 512.434.1284 or the lawyer at 210-829-9135.

You wont be bothered with the calls any more and can have some fun at the same time.  EXCELLENT use of technology!!

Indian gentleman called this morning wanting to talk with someone about our computers. Asked who he was and why and got an answer I did not understand the first time through. Told him since I had no idea who he was I would not tell him anything, take me off your list, don't call again, etc.

Do people really give these guys information?

The caller ID just said that it was this phone number from San Antonio.  Wanted our IT director who is smart and doesn't answer these calls.  The guy called back and got all snippy with me because I wouldn't give him the president of our company.  The president doesn't know anything about our computers or printers which is what Mr. India wanted to know.  He hung up on me.

I get a phone call per day from these people.  I have told them I would report them if they called one more time.  They have continued to call.  I have reported them.  They won't stop calling.  They are the most disrespectful group of people.

Got a call from a woman with a strong oriental voice asking for the boss & I asked who was calling & what it was regarding. She replied she was doing research & asked again for the boss. I asked for more information & her tone became very cranky & she asked for the boss again. I asked if she was trying to sell something & she said "I already told you, it's research about computers" (she had not told me that before). I told her we didn't accept solicitation calls & she started talking fast but I hung up. These guys take a little break & they're hoping when they call again someone new will answer & fall for their scam.

Indian guy with VERY strong accent. I couldn't understand half of what he was saying. Very persistent too. I hung up on him several times, but he would just keep calling back saying..."Tommy, sorry, seems we disconnect."

Called me Jan 18, 2012, trying to get me to answer a bunch of questions about our infrastructure and IT services. I attempted to get more information from him, but he just kept repeating the phrase "this is not a sales call". After getting frustrated that he would not answer my questions, I hung up on him.

Called me again today (Feb 14, 2012). I immediately expressed that they had just called a little while ago and that I did not want them to call. He said that I was mistaken, this was the first time this year they were calling me and started into the phrase "this is not a sales call". I hung up on him again.

He called back 2 minutes later. I did not answer.

A software firm called Data Recovery is also affiliated with Harte-Hanks. They send out spam emails. Be careful opening the file or clicking on a link in the file (even to remove your email address from their list) because they will plant malware on your computer. Wow! Isn't is coincidental that they're trying to sell you software to recover data on your system?!

Harte-Hanks also sends unsolicited emails on behalf of an IT firm called Data Recovery. I've received emails from them in the past and received one again yesterday within minutes of our latest telephone call from H-H. I clicked on the link at the bottom of the page to have my email address removed from their listing (I have no idea how they got it in the first place) and after my request was confirmed, I noticed a minimized download window in my system tray. I couldn't close the download window and I soon noticed a mysterious folder on my desktop labeled "System Tools." I thought I had accidently moved a folder on my computer while trying to close the download window, but when I opened the folder there was a disabled icon of I.E. without ad-ons. I promptly deleted the folder and ran my anti-virus program, and was eventually able to close the download window. Until I did, my computer was running very slow and started freezing up. I don't think it's any coincidence that Data Recovery is trying to sell me/my employer recovery software.

I already blocked emails from The Aberdeen Group and now I've blocked emails from Data Recovery. I also filed a complaint with the FCC.

Although I have this number written down and keep it on my desk, I was caught off guard when they started calling again this morning. They continue to ask for a coworker who is NOT an IT professional and she has told them so repeatedly. A woman called this morning and she was very rude. I sent her into my coworker's voicemail (since she's out today) before I realized who was calling. This harrassment needs to stop!

Although I have this number written down and keep it near my telephone, I was caught off guard when a woman called this morning asking for a coworker. The woman was very rude and cut me off before I was finished speaking. My coworker wasn't here so I sent the caller into voicemail, but I wouldn't have had I realized who was calling. The coworker requested today is the one whom people at Harte-Hanks persistently call although she doesn't work in IT and has told them so over and over again.

The pathetic employees of Harte-Hanks need to get off their brains and do something constructive.

Grrr!!  It only worked for a few months.  Got another call from them and before they could get a single word out of their mouths, I let them have it telling him to never call here again and to remove us from their list and I hung up.  Well, the b*****d proceeded to call right back, and I spouted off again saying that I couldn't believe he had the nerve to call right back.  "Ma'am, we've never spoken before."  I told him I knew he was calling from Harte Hanks and that I had told them before to remove our number and if they didn't I was going to report them and if he understood.  "I got it now ma'am."  Let's just see how long it lasts *this* time!

Prank Call
Said his name was Johnny from Nextec.  Heavy Indian accent.  Ask for the manager. When I told him he was unavailable he then went on to say I had a lovely voice, asked if I was from the Phillipines.  I said no I was from Utah, he asked if that was in the United States.  If this call comes from Texas then the idiots working there should know their states.  He then asked me what I did when I am not working.  I asked what the purpose of this call was, he said that he just wanted to talk to me for a few minutes.  I told him I was busy.  He asked if there was a time to call me back when I was not busy.  I told him no that I am at work and then I go home.  He had the guts to ask me for my home phone number so he could talk to me when I wasn't working.  The U.S. should put a stop to out of country callers using U.S. phone numbers to harass people.  He wasn't calling from here in the U.S.

The little nasally guy called here asking for a particular employee by name (or close to it) -- not the first time. She had to tell him over and over that she's not the person he needed to talk to. She transferred him to the IT Director, but a few seconds later the persistent little geezer called back and said he didn't want to go into voice mail. He had no choice because the IT Director, if here, wasn't in his office or answering his telephone. Within a short time, I received an e-mail from the Aberdeen Group, sent just prior to the telephone calls. I think that's who sent me several e-mails a few weeks ago, addressing me as an IT Professional. These people are obviously "phishing" for something -- what, I don't know, but eventually they're going to catch a shark and get their heads bitten off!

The number belongs to Harte-Hanks, which is associated with the Aberdeen Group.

Some moron called today, hung up on him near-immediately. Indian acccent, barely intelligible, same BS about prior Harte-Hanks conversations as reported below (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harte-Hanks to learn more about this annoying Texas-based, direct marketing firm). The last thing any of us should do is provide phishing material to these charlatans. Hang Up Now!!!

I'm in IT and the receptionist forwarded this call to me.

Got a call from an Indian guy with thick accent.
Was very vague about what he was calling about.

Just kept saying he was calling regards to the computers in use at this company.
He then starting rattling off questions about how many people worked here and how many branches we had, who is the head IT person, etc.
I made up some stuff.

I asked him if he was collecting information and he said yes.
I said I don't feel comfortable giving out any more info goodbye!
