Repeated phone calls all evening. Last one at 10:15 p.m. They always say "unavailable". Every time was a hang up except the last one. I asked "who is this?" he said "JESUS". I said who do you work for? He said Central Research. I asked where. He said New York. I said this call has been coming in all night and it is 10:15 at night. He started laughing!!! I am furious!

I work with Central and it takes up to 14 to 30 days to be taken off the caller list. Why, I have no idea, but it does take that long. As for the hanging up, the computers don't answer quick enough, and since this happens the computer automatically re-tries to call, over and over.

Since they're not sales calls, we are allowed to call your home. I dont agree with calling late at night because I have small kids too, and would go frantic if someone was calling that late. But if I dont do my job, I lose my job and my kids dont get to have a roof over their head, and food in the fridge.

I try to tell my boss all the time, we shoudnt be calling this late, but the bosses dont care, or have any type of compassion. They think time is money, and they have families too. You need to be blaming the ceo of the company. We dont know who he is at all, but keep complaining. Hopefully it gets you guys somewhere, because when us, the workers, try.. we get no where. We shoudnt be caling people over and over again, or as late as we call sometimes. At times we work until midnight, eastern time.

Dial *60 wait and then dial #01# and the number will be blocked.

I get this number, 212-260-1308, calling all the time, annoying at best.

Got this call Sunday morning. Hung up when I answered. I called back and no answer or message.

Allied Interstate Collection, based in FL, will call you all the time. They try to collect bad debts based upon a phone number even if you just got the number and have no connection to the previous people. Paying them is bad for your credit and you MUST mail them registered return receipt in  order to have them stop, but it is no guarantee they will ever stop. They buy blocks of bad debt, maybe $1000 for $1,000,000 worth of debt, and then start calling the numbers on the OLD files. Maybe a number you just got. They can get judgements against the number and put it on your credit report. This group is evil.

Someone from this number has called 3 consecutive times within 5 minutes.  No message left.  If you're number is on the national do not call list, file a complaint every time they call.  I have.  Maybe this will help with these calls.

Called me the last 2 mornings, didn't answer, no message, who are these people? Is it the Allied Interstate Collection group? I saw that comment on the previous page, but the commenter referenced a totally different number. Best to just ignore this or what?

Have received 94 calls in past 24 hours from 212-260-1308!! no message left on my machine.

same thing! they  call me 4 to 5 times a day.. NO answer.. just silence then hang up.. MOST ANNOYING.

This person called me (0297187644). It seemed as if they hung up as soon as I answered but I could hear smething moving, very lightly, but I could still hear it.

So I kept the phone near my ear and didn't hang up, eventually I said "You may want to hang up now, a**hole." So, surprise surprise, they hung up and I could hear the ACTUAL beep beep beep.

Now I'm not sure what this has to do with any of this because I live in Australia, but I am just saying that's what happened to me. And I am kind of scared, this person has rung us like 5 times already.

What's funny she doesn't accept calls that are blocked (punch *67 in front of your number). She was quite indignant that I called her "You called me at home!" Yeah, well your company called me at my home at 7:42 at night (Oct. 8, 2010). At least I had the courtesy of calling her at 8:30 in the morning. She then said I should contact my state's AG office. The company's receptionist said they were a research company. If Carol's company was really legit she'd have repeated that mantra. I urge anyone who is on the list and gets a call start asking for money or threaten to contact and file the violation with the FTC. It's only fair and the only thing that will get them to change is financial loss.

Friends -- I too am fed up with receiving unwanted calls from Central Marketing. They show up on my caller ID as (212)260-1308. I've followed some online threads to obtain the company's business number, (212)260-0070, but speaking with them has gotten me nowhere. However - I have good news to share. The head of the company' name is Carol McMahon. HER HOME PHONE NUMBER IS (212)744-3621. Please give her a call and tell her how you feel about receiving repeated, unwanted calls at your home. Do it quick because she'll likely be changing her number soon. Pass it on!

Had this call around 6:30 pm.  Caller ID'd as "Central,Researc" (truncated on my display)

I received two calls from this number yesterday. My caller ID said it was Research Central.
The first time the person said they're not selling anything, and asked if I was a registered voter, and I said I was too busy for a survey right now.
The second call I received asked if I was the youngest registered voter, and I said that I was on the"do not call list", and she said "sorry" and hung up.

Got a call from this number at 10:30 pm.  Person just stayed on the line after I answered and wouldn't respond or talk.  Then hung up.  Does anyone know who this pervert might be?  It's a land line and I know where it lives in Manhattan.

I just got a call from this number--it was a political survey.  It seemed to lean Republican, for what it's worth.  (I'm a Republican, so I'd like to think my perception that it leaned my way is somewhat objective.)  The survey was by a live person, not a machine.  It was entertaining enough, although some of it pertained to local (New York State) politics that I don't know a lot about.
