These people have been calling me an average of 10 times per week, for the last 3 weekss.  Using the same hard sell described above, even though I have told them to stop calling.

This outfit is an Internet Yellow pages hard-sell slam-scammer.  They will try to trick you into committing to advertize on their websites by claiming you already are there.  Well that may be, but they put you there themselves by filching everything about you and your business they can find on the Internet and posting it as though you approved it.  They will know names and titles of people in your organization and try to give the impression that you already do business with them.  If you even hesitate to hang up on them they will use your recorded conversation to justify sending you a bill. You need to educate all of your staff and especially the receptionist/phone person about these types of slam-artists.  They are right up there with the, "Can you get me the serial number from your copier so we can be sure we are sending the right toner?" slam-scammers. These folks probably have several call centers besides (212)266-5399.  The only other center I have currently identified uses (212)266-5388.

I am having the problem.  Ryan calls from New York (caller ID) and is trying to state he's just trying to verify our current address.  He said he can only talk to someone with financial responsibility, yet he insists he's not selling anything...  What a jerk!  If this guy calls you, hang up.  It's a scam and he is a jerk...

Well all those people calling you,they are not Americans,they are Egyptians and that is why their English is poor,when they called me in the 1st time I asked them where are you calling me,he said from New York and when I asked him again he said Cairo Egypt,and I discovered that they have a American names And they don't tell you their real names even their managers,So If you asked them about their real names and they didn't say it,you can sue them.

I called and found out they are trying to sale yellow page ads and I called 972-453-7903 and she also said she would help to stop the calls.

Contact Claudine Griffin about 212 266 5388 at 972 453 7903, she works for the company that owns this number,I talked to her today 11/20/07 she seems frindly enough and says she will help, so you might give her till the first of December. Then after that I say lets tie up their phone for a few days, see how they like that type of harrasment.

After many calls from this number and several requests for them to stop calling, I decided to take matters in my own hands. It's amazing how quickly they stop calling after you answer your phone with an air horn!

yea I got a call from them and she left a message saying the deal is done..problem for them is I am going to law school and a hpone call away from the DAs office.....also I am on the DNC list and since my home adress is a residence they just violated the dNC..I'm gonna file a compaint since I read this page and really don't want to get a lwayer....I'll let the feds deal with them.

Best thing to do is to ignore the call or have the incoming call forwarded to one of their lines.  Hell, forward it to your grandmother so she has someone to talk to.

These guys are hard core, but I was able to keep them on the line for about 20 minutes just messing with them - so it was almost worth answering the call

to be honest with u all Right now u all already have a listing for ur business on there directory . Coz simply they already have all the business in the united states listed on there directory ( Remember  that they r the Yellow pages which is a business directory )  and from time to time they call business to confirm or verify there information to make sure that ur listing have the correct information about ur business and while they r updating ur listing if they find that ur listing is not having mush clicks and the number of searches for ur type of service in ur local area is huge they give u an offer for a better placement on there  website to be seen by the customers searching for ur service
and i belive that this an optional for u to take or not
and also if they already have ppl searching on there website and they have affiliations and partnership with a lot of search engine so what is the problem if they have customers searching for the service i do or u do
if they have them i would rather think about getting those customers to my business

I asked them why they were asking certain questions and what it had to do with the "superpages" listing.  She didn't have an answer other than they are updating their information.  Wish I would have had a chance to look them up before answering the phone.

I have VOIP Phone Service and I am also fighting back.   The *60 is a neat feature and with my service I can actually do custom call routing.  Very sweet.  Every time this number now attempts to call, I have forwarded their number to another annoying telemarketing company, 12122665388....  This service is part of my normal business service so it does not cost me any extra!

If you can do custom call routing based on incoming calls, start fighting back by taking 1 minute of your time and redirecting the numbers to other known telemarketers....  I also did this with Qwest but I redirected back to their business customer care center..  So when they call me, they call themselves!!

I run a small business, and made the mistake of listing myself (free listing) with an online yellow-pages site -- I'm guessing that's why I'm getting this call, and I'm getting the feeling that I made a huge mistake by doing that. I didn't pick up; they didn't leave a message; I called the number back (not knowing who it was) and got a busy signal -- my phone company has this cool feature where, as soon as the line stops being busy, I will be notified via "special ringing". I really hope to get these bastards on the phone -- because when I do, I'll use the same line my father did with telemarketers: "If you ever call this number again, I will find out where you live and come and kill your children". Gets the point across.

They have been calling our home because I own a small candle business, I assume.  They leave no messages.  I finally answered the phone today and they tried this sell.  I did research on them before I chose to answer the phone.  Therefore I jumped the gun on them and tried to sell THEM candles.  

For 20 minutes.  Every time they asked me about the business I had with them, I would say something like, "So, you want to buy MY services?  How much?  How much will you pay me for my candles?"  I hammered on, pretending not to understand that I was supposed to pay them.  I tried to get them to buy a gross pallet.  Needless to say, I think I could hear the scammer pulling out his hair plugs.

He finally hung on me when I asked him if he was "satisfied with his long distance carrier."  I told him I had a brother who worked for AT&T.

Thank you for having this service here, because had I not read this first, I wouldn't have had such a satisfying time of harassing them.  And now, I'm going to block them. I have *60 on our phone.  It's nice.

If they call you, I do have some advice if you're worried that they have recorded you.  When I find a number like this (they happen from time to time now that I have a business), I will check the number on Google, and then when it calls, I will answer by picking up the phone, turning on the speaker, turning on a digital, hand-held recorder, clicking on the counter, and then saying, "so and so candles records all phone calls for quality assurance purposes."  Then I click on the counter again, get them to identify themselves, remind them I've told them not to call back, and get them to acknowledge they've been calling me anyway.  It's not that hard.  Most of these people forget I'm recording once they get on their sell.  I't not necessary, but you might like to have a copy of yourself telling them to leave you alone with their permission to record it.  I'm sure it can't help.

Same as all above but I was not polite to him. He told me not to yell at him because he was scared and then hung up. I can't wait for him to call back again.

Received Calls from 1-212-266-5388 and asked for the person who handles the business finances and I said that they were not available and I asked for there supervisor and he told me no and then asked again for the person who handle the business finances and I told them they weren't here and he said fine I will call back and hung up.

This is my company line, and 212-266-5388 has been calling it.  I have missed the calls.  They leave no message, and when I try to return the call the recording says that I've reached a non-working number, yet they called me five minutes ago supposedly from that number.  I thought I had missed an important phone call, and drove to my office to only find out it was this number again.  Again, I called, and go the phone company message that it is a non working number.  What an annoying group.
