Noticed that a) Now saying AEI, which is also the acronym for a reputed public research company... shame on them, and b) giving a direct reply number - good in that you can block this one too...

I just got a call where when i answered one guy said "I have Joe Starks on the phone for you". There was not a transfer to Joe Starks, rather he handed him the phone andsaid "Hi Mike this is Joe Starks with Advanced Eqquities, a private equity firm in New York, have you heard of us?" I then cut him off and said "Not interested please take my number off your list"

Same thing as others, with the twist of "calling on behalf of Joe Starks."

Some thing - got a call from Joe Cordi from AEI. Kind of sounded like Tony Soprano with a cold. Probably won't call him back - but, would consider it if I needed a bodyguard or a hitman.

Caller left voice mail saying it was "Joe Cordi" (spelling unknown) from AEI.

Just got the same call from Joe Cordi; no info in his message regarding the purpose of the call;

They're trying to sell "Venture Secondaries", i.e. investments in companies that are venture funded and can't go IPO, but that the VCs would like to offload to dumb money.

I received a call this morning from these guys and they left no message other than "call me back". That's not professional since I do not know them. As you already guessed, I won't return the call.

3 calls today.  no voice mail.  Didn't bother answering based on f/b here.

For what it's worth - meaning, very little - I left a message in their general voice mail box to be placed on their do-not-call list.  Yes, I know, waste of time.

Same as others, I got an unsolicted message "Mike Linebarger(?) here from AIE, looking forward to speaking with you, my number as always is (212) 292-3630." Not a word about who he is or why he's calling me, but thanks to Google and this site I know not to bother.

This is a boiler room operation trying to get people to buy stocks and other investments.  Very high pressure.  They've been calling me for months as well as others from my company.  Don't bother answering.

I have no connection to AEI and they should not call me

Same loser keeps calling in spite of the fact I've asked them to remove us from their call list.  Next up, reporting them.

Received multiple, back-to-back calls.  I did not answer and no message was left.  Caller ID showed as Advanced Equity.

Same exact vmail as previous posters. If caller won't state his/her business nature, I never call back. Simple.

Mike Lineberger? as with previous poster, found it hard to get the
last name.  What pisses me off about these people is that they don't
say who they are or why they are calling.  Interestingly, I could hear
activity in the background suggesting a call center of some kind.
Called the number back after hours, got a voice mail box. The announcement
was a female voice (secretary or admin probably), and the interesting comment, "please note you cannot leave buy or sell orders".

The name might be Lombard or Lombarg - it was hard to tell for certain.

Note that the callback number 2122923630 does not match the caller ID, which is probably a trunk number.

Someone from this number wanted to know more about F10 and jwhere the company was headed.  Force10  Networks is doing alot of great things and we are moving in the right direction as a company.  When I asked who was calling the line drop...HMMMMMMMM
