Gary from Spartan Capital asked for the owner by name when I said he was not available, he hung up. Tired of these calls!!! The government needs to step up and put a stop to the so many scams out there. Or is the government "getting money" from the scams and that is why more and more scams are popping up under Obama - gee this guy rips off Americans more than anyone I have ever seen including scam companies.

Got a call from Nick Polumbus(sp?) at Spartan Capital today asking to speak with our CEO by name, I asked him what it was in reference to and he said "just tell him its Nick Polumbus, he'll recognize me." I told him that he needed to give me a reason if he wants to speak to the CEO, and he insisted. I put him on hold for good while and picked the phone back up. I told him sorry he doesn't recognize you and wants to know why you are calling, then he just hung up on me. I called back and was able to leave a cease and desist message, but you can bet I'll be looking up the company and mailing them a cease and desist letter asap.

Got a call from these persons yesterday around 1:45 PM (while I was at work) and wanted to speak with the owner. I simply hung up, and noted down the phone number. Turns out they are a broker dealer registered with FINRA. FINRA should crack down on these types of telemarketing chop shop boiler rooms/bucket shops.

Caller told me that she is from Yelp and wanted me to sign up. When I said no she kept talking non stop and kept coming back and I told her that I am going to hang up. Very pushy.

I got the same thing - rude, direct, asked for owner by name, hung up... I called the 877 number provided by one of the links posted above for Spartan, and asked how to remove us from their cold calling, she was very pleasant and said just give me your phone number and it will be removed.

Call them back and ask for Michael Gardiner...that was the name the jerk gave me.  If everyone calls and asks for him specifically then asks him a bunch of questions that are stupid and irrelevant (do you like mac & cheese, are you a smurf), they won't like it.  Then you call back and ask how he likes dumb calls while he's trying to work and to take your company off the calling list or you will continue to waste his time like he's doing to all of us.

Same here as all of you. They call, ask for my husband and when told he is not available they hang up. However, these people are so stupid that they can't even figure out that I am the legal owner of our business and not my husband. They must get enough married men that make financial decisions without discussing with their spouse to make it profitable.

Call this # and let them know you dont want to be contacted again by this company due to this RUDE caller and let them know if they do call back charges will be filled. When i called the 212-293-0123 and asked the woman to verify that the # 212-293-0004 that keeps calling me belongs to this company she said yes but that # doesnt get incoming calls. I told her to take my Company's # off the list before i contacted the law for phone harrasement. She said she would do it and if my some chance they call back to please call her. I told her after i contact the police i will contact her. We get at least 10-20 calls a day from this # due to the fact we have several #'s for our office that all come tho our main line.

Got a voicemail from this number.  After some digging, it appears to be the Spartan Capital Group.  As others have said, this is a fast talking Wall St. guy, who wants to sell you some stocks or convince you to invest with him.  They also call from 212-293-9674.

Obviously these guys are locked in a room and forced to make calls. One of them called me today 3 times and the third time it went to voice mail I think he thought he hung up on his end but the phone was still on and I have him recorded saying "I hate this company". So Spartan must be killing these guys.

More information:  Chief Compliance Officer of Spartan Capital, Tom Herity, has a rude and arrogant disposition. He agreed to remove us from call list, with little grace. His telemarketers which he said are stockbrokers, reflect his nasty, disrespectful customer service manner. Spartan Cap has been calling me for years - literally YEARS!

I have had their number blocked for at least 2 1/2 years - yet they still call.

This man has been calling for months. He always wants to talk to the owner, says his name like they're old buddies, then ask for owners cell phone number. Today when I told him I could'nt give that info out he asked for my name. I told him my name and he wanted my last name as well. I told him I didn't feel comfortable giving him that info. He rude & loudly told me he was going to turn me in. Im not sure to who, because he will NEVER talk to the owner of my company.  :)

Guy calls and asks for President of company by his first name only (but we have 3 by same first name) so I asked for clarification, he gave the last name, I asked who is calling am told "Dan", I ask "from where?" and he says "New York", (really Douche? Really you think i need to know your location?) So I ask (politely) "from what company?" and he says Spartan Corp so I say I will see if Pres is available and put him on hold, then go back and say he is not available,and does he want his voicemail. His response is "No- just let him know Dan called" So I did (cause I am nice like that) and it was before I found these postings about this number. My Boss has no clue who he is and has no desire to speak with him. Really wish the FCCC would allow businesses on the do Not Call List.

Call, using Owner's First Name.  Hung up when he was not available.

Mike from Spartan Cap....called to talk w/Doug (owner) said it was a fiduciary matter.  Said he spoke w/him in March.  I said no I take all his calls and if he knew you ...I would know you and I don't know a Mike from Spartan.  Wanted to argue the point....said I would let him know that he called, and hung up on him.  I wouldn't waste my breathe telling the owner.

He calls every public phone number we have, asking for the VP.  When we ask if he's expecting his call, he says "You know, I really can't be sure."  He says his name is Jonathan Iraji.  We ask if he wants to leave a message, he always says "It's not urgent, I'll try again later."

Called our office asking for the owner like he was a buddy. When I asked for more (basic) information he hung up on me. Obvious financial scam from Spartan Capital.

I received  phone call from 212-293-0004.  The caller ID said " Spartan Cap"  left no message.  I tried to call back but all I got was a disconnected number message.  Its really irritating when your looking for a job and you keep getting calls for scam artists.

The caller from 212-293-0004 said the owner of company I work for just called him and he was returning his call. I, of course knew this was not true. I said to him that I take messages for ALL of his incoming calls. He then told be to get the SH-- out of my ears and transfer him. I would love to talk to his manager.

A guy called from 212-293-0004, asked for the owner by first name only. Said he was with Porsche and that he was returning Marks call. Which is no where factual at all. So when I refused his transfer his called me names, made a noise in the phone and told me to go F*** myself. He would not give me his # or name.

When I logged into Comcast to check who it said the callers name was, it came up with Lloyds Mercantile Corporation.

Caller ID reads "Spartan Cap". They have called us for years. Every time they call, I just answer the call with the mute button. I do the same with ALL Out of Area & Toll Free calls (800,881,886,867,878,760,757...) It doesn't take long for them to hang up, and many do not call back.
