The caller id now is "hall C". Tks for this site I found it was CHall, and now I know I'll be able to be opted out.

Carnegie Hall is apparently still using this number, without any identifying info.

As of 6/7/2011 the statement 'All calls now display this correct caller ID: "212-903-9773 Carnegie Hall"' appears to be a lie. It shows up as "212-903-9773 New York NY". I would understand such substitution if the business name would be a "Whorehouse", Why anybody would substitute Carnegie name? I would not.

I just sent Carnegie Hall an email at feedback@carnegiehall.org saying I would never purchase tickets there again as long as they call. Many other options: BAM, Lincoln Center, City Center. Just don't go to Carnegie Hall and they will eventually get the message!!!

We have recently been made aware that an incorrect caller ID was being received by our patrons during marketing and fundraising calls. This problem has been investigated and corrected. All calls now display this correct caller ID: "212-903-9773 Carnegie Hall".
The National “Do Not Call” Registry does not limit calls by nonprofit organizations, however Carnegie Hall deeply respects your privacy. Any individual who wishes not to receive marketing or fundraising calls is welcome to be added to Carnegie Hall’s own "Do Not Call" list. Got a call from this number 2/7/08 @ 5:01 pm - no voicemail left
lm 2011-06-06 20:42:53 Unknown
It is Carnegie Hall soliciting. I bought tickets from them in the past. My issues is that I am on the do not call list and they should NOT be calling me. They need to merge/purge their list of numbers to be called against the do not call list. It is the law!!!!!!!!!

Received call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on 12/11. Caller ID showed C. Hall, as though it was a call from an individual, not indicating the fact that it was a solicitation. This is deceptive. My understanding is that unsolicited sales or donations calls must identify themselves as such. I recently purchased Carnegie Hall tickets and do not wish to be contacted. The statement above by Carnegie Hall is either a lie or incorrect. The caller ID that they are using is clearly deceptive. Further, I do not wish to receive any more calls from them. Where are the instructions to be removed? I called the number itself, and the message says that nobody answers that number.

A subscriber and FORMER donor to Carnegie Hall. It is disgusting that they use this trick of screening who they are: as noted above, the "caller ID" number that displays ((212) 309-9773) is a non-working number. So the person making the solicitation on behalf of Carnegie Hall is working for an organization that condones this underhanded type of behavior. No more donations from me...

I bought tickets to Carnegie in Nov/Dec 2007 and received a call from this number too.

Yeah, that's really weird, I bought a ticket from Carnegie Hall in September and I just got 5 calls on Feb. 26 from this number. I never answered, but I knew it was a NY number. I was thinking that if it was important they would leave a message, but nothing. So I'm guessing it's not a real person contacting me. That is so frustrating.

Same here...
Just bought tickets from Carnegie. They need to fix that quick...not professional at all to use patron cell numbers to advertise or whatever they're doing with them.

Glad to find this site. I missed two calls from this number, and yes, I bought tickets to a Carnegie Hall concert a couple weeks ago over the phone.
wooza 2008-02-12 21:21:52 Unknown
Yep, Jerry Springer the Opera tickets, and then the calls started!
Anon 2008-02-12 17:30:53 Unknown
Yup, bought tickets to Jerry Springer the Opera at Carnegie Hall. mystery solved.

I did!

I received a call today with no voicemail. According to another website, 800notes.com, this number is Carnegie Hall soliciting donations. I haven't verified this yet, but I *did* purchase tickets on Carnegie Hall's website last month.

Yes...the 212.309.9773 IS Carnegie Hall and they've been calling me for 2 YEARS. How many times do I have to say, "NO THANKS!"
matt 2008-01-31 21:38:11 Unknown
I donated to Carnegie last year and they want me to rejoin
Everytime I see this # I disregard
Because they wont bring hardly any good jazz back
Im choosing not to subscribe this year
But they are persistent
they call my work and cell all the time

Got a missed call from this number, googled it, and found this site.

Have received several calls from this number over several weeks; also bought Carnegie Hall tickets on-line in October. I'm glad I found this site because now I know what's going on.
mag 2008-01-26 01:36:47 Unknown
I got two calls last night and two calls tonight. I also bought tickets for a concert at Carnegie Hall last october. What is going on? Has anyone contacted Carnegie Hall about his? Maybe one should.

Just got a call from this number, but no message. I also bought tickets from Carnegie Hall in late November or early December.
I've heard that telemarketing places will have computers call potential customers and hang up if there are no salespeople available to take the call. That might explain all of the "hang ups" higher up in this comment thread.

Interesting indeed. I also bought tickets from Carnegie Hall in December via their web site & gave my number. A few weeks ago I received a call from this number from someone who knew I went to the concert & was soliciting money on behalf of Carnegie Hall. Hmmm...
