Yeah, this very same indian jerk left this message exactly on my phone about 8 times today. I was a little worried the first time, but after the thrid time I began to realize if it were in fact true I would receive documents in the mail.  I was so glad to find this post because I really wanted to know if anyone else had the same issue.  John Williams my a**.  I did take out a loan last year, paid it until I found out they had opened another account without my permission and were charging me twice the amount agreen upon. I closed the account and sent them an email letting them know that they no longer had my permission to withdraw from my account, and requesting that any further communication be done via snail mail.  Periodically I get these threatening and mean calls, and try to ignore them.  Sorry for all of us that fell into this trap!!!

This caller called for the first time today.

I have been getting calls on my work cell. It started a couple of months ago then when my boss started questioning them and telling them not to call this work phone again because he was reporting them to the attorney generals office they stopped calling but now they have started again. A few times when a man by the name of Neil Johnson called...I would answer the call and disguise my voice to sound foreign and kept asking him to repeat and repeat his questions then he would hang up and call right back. Now it is another foreign speaking person but a woman this time. I don't answer the calls and she will leave a message stating this message is intended for (then she states my name) and that the time has been extended on my loan...which I have no loans...she states that her name is Jane Wright and she has been given the authorization to extend the time for me but only if I call her at 718-673-6123 and if I don't call all she can do is wish me luck...blah blah blah and good bye. Then she calls my cell again but this time asking for a friend of mine stating I gave this person's name and number as a contact number and says you must have so so (me) call her back and that she is calling from a law firm leaving the same phrase at the end of her message as she sent to me. This so called Jane Wright also has gone as far as to leave a message to my friend stating there is a lawsuit against them. Today I would answer the phone but not say a thing but bang it on the table or make loud noises into the phone which Jane doesn't seem to like very much because some how she has gotten a hold of my office number and is leaving a message for me to call her at the same number so I let the secretary listen to some of the messages I have received from this so called Jane Wright and to not take any messages from her but just hang up on her which we all know Jane will call back. Jane Wright has turned to Private calling now...like that will get me to answer the phone. I have gotten phone calls from this so called Jane Wright from several different number which I'm including:1-000-000-0000:615-724-7999:702-520-9186: 213-710-8116:866-930-5490 and 888-210-9392.

Okay guys, sorry so many updates today but I've been giving them a taste of their own medicine.  Let me tell you, they don't like being called numerous times a day especially when you give them no information what-so-ever.  I did however on this last phone call get a couple more names that they are using.  Here they are: Albert Williams, Officer Jeff, Jack Russell and of course Jane Rice and Adam Scott

Just called the number 718-673-6123 numerous times and repeated every single question that 'adam scott' asked me until he got frustrated and said who the hell is this. I asked him the same question and he got flustered and hung up... So I called right back and asked immediately who he was.  He said 'jack russell' an attorney.  So I asked for his state bar # and he said I can't answer questions, so I interupted him with the same question 3 times he told me not to call back, and I said oh no sweetheart, you are to never call me back, and for your information, I've recorded everyone one of our conversations to turn over to the police. And he said good and hung up.  They don't know what to do when you start to bully them.

I just got a call from "Adam Scott" also.  He identified himself as an attorney and I asked him point blank again later in the conversation and he said he was.  I told him if he would give me his state bar # so I could confirm he was an attorney, I would be happy to talk to him, otherwise I was not going discuss any situation with him.  The threatened me with Federal Banking and Theft charges.  He said he would not give me his bar # because I was a criminal and I would use it against him.  I told him I was taping the phone call and he told me not to threaten him and hung up.

A payday loan, also known as a paycheck advance, is a short-term cash advance intended to cover expenses until the holder's next payday.

The callers claim they are lawyers with the "Financial Accountability Association" or the "Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans," and they are armed with stolen personal information from their victims, indicating a major security breach of unknown origin. The names used by the scammers may change with time.

According to Connecticut Better Business Bureau President, Paulette Scarpetti, payday loan holders appear to be particularly at risk.

"Because the scammers have so much information about potential victims, BBB is concerned that this may be the result of a data breach. Thousands of people may have had their personal information compromised."

Reports received by Better Business Bureau and posted online explain the con artists threaten the loan holders of defaulting and claim they are being sued. The imposters threaten the loan holders with imminent arrest and extradition to California to stand trial, unless they immediately wire $1000 or provide bank account or credit card information.

Connecticut Better Business Bureau has advice for consumers who receive suspicious telephone calls about an outstanding debt:

-Don't be bullied into immediate action. Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation that substantiates the debt.
-Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the telephone until you confirm the legitimacy of the call.
-If you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you, file an abuse complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online at www. ftc.gov, or by telephone at (202) 326-2222. Also file a complaint with your Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org or by telephone at 203-269-2700, ext. 2.

Hey everyone!  I posted about a month ago about these terrible people.  They are now leaving me VERY threatening messages and calling from that 866 # which is a number I was getting a call from about 6 months ago telling me I was getting a gov't grant which I knew nothing about and told them to never contact me again, the Indiana accented woman then went by the name Jane Rice.  But now I have this 'Adam Scott' guy STILL calling me from that number threatening me to call him.  When I have answered and grilled him with questions he called me a b***h.  They are now telling me to call them back at 718-673-6123.  Be aware!!  Let's all update the numbers they're giving to help eachother out! DON'T let them scare you.

They same thing happened to me. They called a former boss of mine. From phone number 240-365-0592 but i was to call back 925-262-1327. I returned their call and they proceed to tell me that they were downloading my information to the authorities for where I live on 3 charges, violation of federal banking,collateral check fraud and check by deception. The 3 guys I talked to was James Cameroon, Dean Jones and a JASON O' CONNORS. I have contacted the authorities. Do not give them any info. Call Equifax and put a fraud alert on your account they will inform the other 2 credit bureaus as well.

I called the creeps back and a woman answered the phone.  I told her that I was not giving her my name and but do know that I know who they are and that they are operating out of Brooklyn, NY.  She then gives the phone to a man.  I told the man that I do not owe them any money, that there were operating out of Brooklyn, NY and I have their address. I also told them that I have a police report and am filing charges against them.  I told him that his number is on the internet alerting people of the scam.  He said "OK" with fear in his voice.  I then hung up the phone.

I also keep getting calls and can't understand very much except the callers name is Jane Rice and she says to call them back asap don't disregard and if I do good luck. They always call when I'm at work.

My son received a call from a guy named Adam Scott saying he owed several hundred dollars in a pay day loan and that it was a legal case.  I could settle today for slightly more than that or it could go to legal and if we lost it would be about 8 times that amount.  Very high pressure and it turns out it was against a job that my son didn't even have until 2 years later.  He game me a number and it goes to an extension and I asked him to call me back. He did and become quite a smartass and told me not to waste his time.  I asked for some sort of written documentation and he said he couldn't do this as it was part of a legal dispute.  He gave me the address of: Jason O?Connors & Associates, 115 park ave  #45, New York City, NY, 10022.  I then went on-line ans seen this blog so thanks.  I then returned his call and left a message for Adam Scott, or Sheriff Stevens or possibly a lawyer or maybe financial consultant.  I said I had seen this web site/blog and if he was serious he should call me back. If not, I would report him to the authorities tomorrow.

I recieved the very exact same message only I wrote it down word for word on this site. They are preying on females because they figure they are easier to scare. With all the terrorism going on in the world this is the tactic they think will work best. You can call you phone company and have them block that phone # from calling you. Don't call them back. If they call you and you answer they say that telling them they need to learn better english and stop being so untouchable HIGHLY upsets them and they hang up.  Best of luck.  I went to the Sherriffs office and discussed what to do and how to handle the situation because to me it was and is an act of terrorism.

I received a call twice now from the same caller and this is the one of the messages he left on my voicemail..." This messages is intended to Lance and Frances. Lance the VERY second you recieve this message I need YOU or your attorney to return this call, Sherriff states it is time sensative. My name is John Williams my hotline to me is 212-372-7351, again # is 212-372-7351. Don't try to disreguard this message. Return Call. Now Lance if you don't return the call or I don't hear from you either, then the only thing I can do for you is wish u gook luck as the situation unfolds on you. Goodbye." He had an accent of India decent or of that type. To me with all the terroism that is going on in the world this is their tactic now. Scare you into cooperating and giving them what they want. Be smart just hang up. They say if you call them untouchable it HIGHLY offends them !!

I just received a call from this number at my job.  I do not know who they are and I wish they would just stop calling me.  His name is "Adam Scott", he left a message and at the end of the message he said, "I wish you good luck."  It was almost like a threat, if I don't call him back.  I will not be calling him back.  Can anyone send a suggestion as to how to get rid of this person?  Thanks sugarmamma.

I keep getting calls too, finally talked to the guy and he called me a bi*** after I gave him the third degree in questioning him. He gave me a phony address and the company name he gave me doesn't exist online.  Jason O. Conor & Associates is the name he gave me.  His name was 'Adam Scott'.  Refused to let me speak to his manager and wouldn't give me a website or e-mail address because it's 'against his companies' policy'.. I'm not sending them anything!  in one phone call alone he told me he was from a financial institute and then it was a law firm. When I told him if he called me again at work that I would report him and his company to the police for harassing me, he said he was Sheriff Jeff Stevens.  I suggest calling them back, let then feed you their bull crap and try to grill them for info.  It's the only way to stop these jerks.
