Just got the call here. From other sources, appears to be the old Microsoft "your computer is sending virus or messages" scam call. Didn't answer, no message left.
The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

I wished I knew what the call was going to be about, I'm running Ubuntu. I would have toyed with the guy. This was the third call today from some scammer. When it came up New York I new it wasn't a legit call, I don't know anyone in New York.

Same thing, obviously a huge scam, and not the first time I've been called with one of these..."I'm calling about a virus on your computer, I'm from Windows IT...
to which I replied, "Nice try, moron, I have a Mac so @#$% you"
DO NOT CALL REGISTRY IS A F#%^ing JOKE and a HALF, ready to dump phone service...who needs this crap?!?!?
And to this site...you need another "Call Type" for "PHISHING SCAM / ATTEMPTED IDENTITY THEFT"

Same as the others, Indian guy, NY, NY number, with Microsoft, need to delete a virus quickly. I asked if MS was calling everyone with a MS system, he said yes. I told him I was an IT tech, just tell me the files and I'll look at them. He said, um, um...I'll have to call you back later and hung up.

Recieved a call 4/1/14 @ 4:15pm. Caller identified himself as windows IT, about a virus that was going to attack my motherboard. Please turn on your computer. Caller had a very heavy "India" accent. Hard to understand, but enough that you get whats being said. I replied "from Microsoft"? He said "Yes.", and I replied.... "Not from New York you aren't, Microsoft IT is not in New York!", and he got very quiet, and I told him "You aren't getting near my PC!", and hung up.... On April fools day of all days. - You just know its a scam.... Microsoft doesnt know your telephone number, and since I built my system, my phone number was changed and unlisted, built my system 4 years ago, and changed my number 1 1/2 Years ago.... Stupid people!

This con artist called, said he was from my internet company, that he needed me to go to my computer to delete a virus. I said what is the name of my internet provider, he said not important, just go to the computer at once. The caller Id says New York. He said his name was David, was a foreign accent. I toyed with him a bit and he hung up.
