Bell South has an obligation to their customers to prevent this type
of harassment. Bellsouth needs to put a stop to this type of harassment.

i got a pop-up on my computer that said my computer was at risk, i checked my computer and everything was fine. shortly after i got a phone call for the same person you all are describing (heavy indian accent) saying he was a computer tech and wanted to help me fix my computer issues, i just hung up. how is he getting peoples information? its very disturbing

Same as the other posts.  They talked to my wife 1st time, then when I answered the said she signed us up and they needed a form of payment.  When I asked too many questions the dot head said I was wasting his time!

I got a call from this number, 212-456-7890 (caller id as New York), and a guy saying he was from Global PC Support claimed my computer was attacking theirs with a virus.  He had a heavy Indian accent and sounded like he was in a call center.  I asked him the name of the machine that was attacking, and he said the 'windows machine'.  If it were possible that such a thing was going on, he would know the name and ip of the computer.  (If he had the name and ip I would be nervous, how did he track it back to my phone number?) Asked him twice more for the name of the machine and got vague answers.  I told him he was full of s**t and he hung up on me.

Complete scam and a liar.

These sob's just called my parent's home, twice. Yes, the home phone number is on the DO NOT CALL list, for what that's worth. After the first call, I ran a check on the number and found this group. When they called back, I politely told them that as an IT professional (which is true), that I knew for a fact what they were saying was a scam and to take this phone number off their call list. He said he could not do that. I said, then you are breaking the law. The man with the sub-con accent called me a crazy woman. I told him if they ever called this number again I would report them to the FCC...which I did anyway.

If they call again, I think I'll play with them for a while.

btw, the FCC report format is lousy.

they say my computer is infected. I ask for THEIR credit card number so I can bill them. He says he called me..(Ok I had free time to kill); I said yes, so I have to bill you. Only rachel from credit card services calls for free...
He went back on script; I asked him for the ip of the machine causing the issue and he said it was confidential, he couldnt share that info.. uh huh.. They need better script writers... I hung up

I get the same thing. Stupid people. Freaking annoying.

well Im one of those who received this call from 212-456-7890, did a reverse phone number which lead me to Trask Industries.. long story short, it was a heavily accented caller about my infected pc..NOT. Wanted me to follow her instructions and go into my computer, I asked lots of questions, and finally asked to speak to someone who spoke English and the caller hung up on me. lol. SCAM

Received two harrassing  calls from this number today.

i told them i was a computer tech and the guy hung up on me...i do know a lot about computers so i was laughing when he told me

The "computer maintenance" dept called about my
Computer.   I laughed.  He said. "you are laughing"
I hung up.  Do people really buy this
Can't wait for them to call again so I can have fun!

I just received a call from this number--I usually don't pick up calls I don't know but this did have a NY area code.  She said she was my "Software Service Provider" and my computer was sending lot's of error messages and she wanted me to fix them.  She said press ctrl and windows key--I said No--I don't believe you and please do not call again.  Don't know what the SCAM is just want people to be aware and hope noone would actually do this.

Usually I do not pick up calls I don't know, but this one was a New York area code.  A lady told me she was calling from my "Software Service Provider"-- and that my computer was sending lot's of error messages and she was going to help me fix them. Tis number calls constantly, rings about 5 times then stops. It is so annoying. What good is signing up for do not call list when people are sonstantly annoyed by this and other scam numbers??????

212-456-7890 is A PC scam  Look up Global PC Technical Support.  They start with is you PC running slow or gets hung up? They want to get you to  try software cleanup. Dont know if they want to get access to your PC. When I asked who they were and how do they know about my PC and who they are affiliated the Indian guy says "Ahhhh duh" and then hung up.

Called at 3:09 PM Weds 12//19/12 ... answered on the second ring an they hung up.

They called earlier and my male friend answered, they hung immediately upon hearing his voice.
Getting sick of all this crap, got a call a day from Utah a few month ago, wish there was something more I could do than just report the number.

Dec 17th...Same as above...indian accent called with inquiry about my computer and began leading me through some paces...when I said..there's no virus and the entrys go back several years he wanted me to speak to another person..by now it was clear this was a SCAM... the only protection any of us is ever going to get is via our own "common sense". Normally we don't answer calls we don't indentify but it was a 212 number and my daughter lives in NYC so we picked up...last time. Yes it was 212 4567890. Only in America.

Heavy indian accent - kept insisting I get to my computer right away because I had serious issues with it.  Lots of viruses and spyware. He could help me fix them, he has been receiving messages for weeks about it (really, why tell me now?) Said he was with tech support.  Very pushy.  I tried to get as much info as possible from him while "my computer was booting up".  He had my full name which is troublesome - my name and number are not published.  Also, my computer is spotlessly clean.  I finally told him I knew he was a scam and he hung up.  Also, the first call said ameyo 9-2832, but he couldn't hear me so he called back.

Tried to hack into my computer by getting me to access the registry.

P.S. - They  Spyware is another word they used.

We received the same call from this number from an individual with a thick Indian accent.  Said they were from Global PC Support and that they had our IP number from our computer and that there was Malware infecting our computer.  If we could go on the computer and give access they could clean it up for us immediately.  This was a free service they provide.

I told my husband to hang up the phone as they are HACKERS!   Wished I picked up the phone, as I would have told them where to GO  - very loud and clear.  I hate these people, they insult our intelligence.

NEVER NEVER NEVER give any information to ANYONE on the phone unless you yourself contact the company and know they are reputable.

P.S. - for Call Type, you need to add HACKERS.

I received a call today from a girl with an Indian accent from New York. She told me my computer was infected
with spyware and if I went on line she could help me. I told her I wasn't able to go online and to call later.
I then entered the name ameyo and the number 212-456-7890 which I am reporting .... I asked her where she
got my number and she could not answer that question.. I also heard many voices in the background like
telemarketers very noisy.... Thank God I was suspicious because my computer is running slow. I do hope they
call back so I can tell them what I think....

Have started getting calls from this number.  I don't answer because I didn't recognize it.  Called  the number from my cell and got a message that said unassigned # for ABC!!!  They have been calling several times a day.  Does anyone know what's going on?

I just answered this call.  Man (mild Indian accent) told me my computer was infected with a virus.  Which computer, I asked.  The computer you use for internet access he answered.  I told him I have a Mac.  He said, yes Ma'am, it's the Mac.  I told him I also use a PC, so which one is infected?  He stumbled over his words, then he said, it's the Mac, your PC is fine.  (Wrong answer!  I rarely use my 6-yr old PC; the virus protection expired about 3 years ago.  It's a mess!)  I asked him Are you sure?  The Mac seems fine.  He said, well it's the one you use for internet access.  I asked how he knew it was infected.  He said they can tell, there have been complaints (or something like that).  I told him to take my number off his call list and he hung up on me.

It's only 11:30 a.m., and I've already had 3 telemarketing call/scams this morning.  So sick of these people!
