Getting the same crap here, but from a lot of different contact numbers for both scams. Researched it, and these are scams. The number these messages are coming from are different than the number shown to call. Mobile phone providers can go through your text and retrieve the actual number these are sent from and block them. However, in my experience, new ones come after. I would think responding to the text could be dangerous to your phone, personal information, or possibly more. I recommend not responding to them directly. I have called a couple, but get a busy tone or asked to leave information. I'm very nervous about having my provider go through my text. It's giving consent to all your text. Personally, there are text I prefer to stay private. If you know where I'm coming from, but it may be the only way.

I have been getting calls and text messages for the past month from this number, stating it's Bank of America. I haven't figured out how to stop/block it yet. The do not call list is definitely not working.

I had this text several times, and I was suspicious so neither texted or called them. Use some common sense people. It is definitely NOT from Bank of America! Thanks to Tonka Toy for letting us know how to block this if you have Sprint.

I was received text from bankofamerica, please call 2124579779, I was called cause I dont have BOA card, so an automatic machine says that my 4 digit card, then ask for my full 16 digit card, I tiping different 16 numbers to try to know was occur, but the automatic system avoid my invented numbers and reach to aks again for my real 16 digit card.
Be carefully, cause somebody can trapped on it, smart system scam. I think that the person that invented those are or was an BOA employee.

Keep getting the same message "Subject:BankofAmerica, Please Call 212-457-9779" I have been ignoring it but it's getting very annoying. I will see what my attorney says and post if it's something that can benefit everyone.

They called me last night and I called back. It is a scam they try to get your debit card # on pretense there is some "security" problem. I advised the real Bank of America. Hope they catch these crooks.

| pissed 2012-09-21 18:58:30 Unknown |
same number BOA does nothing when you tell them
| Scott 2012-09-21 17:18:31 Unknown |
Got the same message today. Forwarded to abuse@bankofamerica.com
boa.org is registered to a company out of California who I'm sure has nothing to do with it. Obvious phishing scam.

Yeaup, this is a scam, not thinking about it--my son also received several texts from this and unfortunately gave them information on his debit card account which we then had to close an account to protect him. Total scam.

I looked up Sprint.com. Here's what they said:
If you do receive a spam message:
Report spam by forwarding spam text messages directly to abuse@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Block text messages from specific phone numbers or email addresses directly from your My Sprint account on Sprint.com.
