This is a spoofed phone number.  Someone is using a spoofing device and programming this phone number into it so it appears this number is calling you.  

I received a call from this phone number, no message was left, so I called the number back, and a recording came up that I should report this to the police.

This number has called me 3 times already this week, they never leave a message.  My AT&T Cnam says MBOOTH.  I?m adding them to my call blocker?s blacklist.

According to my research: The 212-539 prefix is a VoIP service assigned by Verizon New York and uses Switch #NYCMNY13DS1.  M Booth?s main phone number (212-481-7000) is also a VoIP assigned from Verizon, but uses switch #NYCMNY30DS1.   M Booth and Associates is the registered user of the 212 481 7000 number.  There is no registered user for the 212 539 3215 number.  All this leads me to believe the number calling us might be spoofed.

M Booth employs a company called RedShift to do market research for them.  The unwanted calls to us, including those of us who have our numbers listed with the DNC registry, may be an attempt to conduct a survey.  If the call is really for the sole purpose of conducting a survey, it is allowed by the DNC.  

RedShift rersearch is located in Kent, UK.  Their website is: http://www.redshiftresearch.co.uk (M Booth is listed on their clients page).  As far as I can tell, RedShift is a reputable marketing research firm.  I suspect they are conducting a survey on behalf of M Booth.  Until the FCC changes the rules to exclude surveys, they can call us legally ... GRRR.

Bottom line: I cannot find enough information to confirm they are a telemarketer/scammer or a survey taker.  I?m giving them the benefit of the doubt as a survey taker.

12/06/2013  212-539-3215 called home at 6PM is a scammer using another persons number.

They must have been making their run of Marketing calls for Medical Alert systems. Rang 4 time and no message like all the similar calls I get during the week. The scammers don't follow the do not call list laws. When you answer, they hang up also. This company must let there telemarketing people work from home to make there calls and get credit for the number of calls they make. Dan gave to entire spill over the lie alert system being free and a $1,000 coupon book.

I got a robocall and listened until the end because I had read that there are new laws saying telemarketers must have your permission to call. I was offered a chance to "opt out" so I did. I don't know if it will get rid of these clowns, but I can always dream.

My father got the same call about 10 am sounds like same crap with a different twist---what is the age group these scum are calling

I was watching the news the other night, the local BBB was on there he was talking about the people that call from Credit Card services or Bank Card Services, he said the FTC or DNC people were working very hard to stop these people from calling, well they have been calling me for well over five years and nobody has done a darn thing about it, so that is baloney, just another agency being paid to do nothing. This MBooth phone call came in today at twelve fifty nine, when I answered they hung up, its not the first time they have called but I was in the mood to curse them out, just didn't get the chance.

Thanks for the info. I  now have this number blocked. It called me this morning at 10:43, but my Digitone was in its After Hours mode (I'm a night owl), so my phone never rang.

Mbooth.com called them but can't get through.  Phone mail just puts you in a loop.

Think about the huge number of calls the FTC receives.  Think about the number of FTC persons necessary to deal with these calls.  It is massive.  Per the congress, the fundings have been cut, so that doesn't help.

Called here too around 5:19PM.  Sure glad the people at the dnc registry are doing their jobs & reinforcing the law about telemarketers calling those on the list.  What a bunch of crap.  Our taxes in action.  Another gov't agency that's worthless.  Sorry, did I say that??????

Another in a series of calls to offer free life alert. Has been going on for months. They keep calling from different numbers/ It is insane & don't know how to stop it.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number. I am on the DO NOT CALL list. I called the number back and let them know that I was going to report this call. The caller's name was George. You cannot speak to an operator when you press "0" and the message states you must be directed by caller's name.
