Criminal boiler room on steroids. Never answer unknown numbers. NEVER. Panasonic phones have call blocker built in. Wish I had bought one of those.

Got the "Hello Seniors" call today about 1:30 PM PST. I pressed one after I set my recorder up and was prepared to really wind them up. Unfortunately they hung up. Well, I'm sure they'll be a next time.
Marlo 2014-05-01 16:22:51 Unknown
Caller was "notifying me that I am eligible for an alert system". I am on the "Do Not Call" list but it must not work.
sick of it 2014-05-01 11:41:56 Unknown
I get these kind of calls all the time, I'm able to block a few, the phone company only allows up to 5 at one time. Never press any number they tell you unless you know for sure who you are dealing with, it could transfer you to an over seas call that you'll have to pay for. these low lifes really need jail time like 50 years plus if caught, so play it safe hang up immediately or don't answer at all if you have caller Id to check the number. Colo on my caller Id tells me nothing but a scammer.

Call from this number 212-660-1821 today(caller id) stating "how would you like to earn a free Bahama cruise w/airfare for the hubby and myself? Yeah? And how is that? All you have to do is give me the phone numbers of some of my friends. Really? What planet was she born on? I said how did you get my phone number? No answer. Then she started talking again. When I started to ask her more questions she hung up. ha ha. Go peddle your crap somewhere else. You got the wrong person here.

This caller keeps calling even after I hit #9 to opt out. The company is Verizon, and it starts as an automated call. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and this is about the 50th call from this number and you cannot call back the number.

Understand that the "No call list" only applies to legitimate businesses. Scammers and crooks regurlarly ignore it. Robo call devices are the most valuable tool of these people. Their robo caller initiates calls using a bank of several phone numbers (some of which don't exist).
1. Have a phone providing Caller ID. If you don't recognize the calling phone number, don't answer. If you have phone recording facilities and the call is legitimate, the caller will leave a message. Scammers usually leave no message.
2. Do not press 1 or 9 expecting to be removed from their list. This action only alearts them that yours is a live phone number. Do not answer or respond to the call in ANY manner.
3. Purchase a call blocker or a phone with caller ID, voice recording facilities, and call blocking facilities (many DECT 6 phones have all these).
The equipment to fight scam calls costs in the range of $50 to $100. It is worth it. There is little that state or federal governments can or will do for you. Believe me, the above suggested equipment really works.

This is the second time that these annoyng scumbags have called.
david 2014-04-28 20:41:35 Unknown
I called the number back and received the following message, "Not a working number." So why does it call us if its not a working number?
Diane 2014-04-28 19:57:10 Unknown
This is seriously getting annoying. I get one a day every day and I am on the do not call list. They never leave a message, if I answer, there is never anyone there.
angry 2014-04-28 19:47:31 Unknown
I did the same and the guy kept pushing even after I gave him a few choice words. Done telemarketing before and you are not allowed to talk to customers that way or keep pushing them. Kept telling me i had to give him a reason why I didn't want it even after I said I would file harassment charges.Scam is what I say.

The ONLY purpose in the medic alert for seniors scammer's calls to us, is to get our credit card numbers, so they can cheat us!
Ulla 2014-04-28 19:08:32 Telemarketer
Somebody trying to sell personal medical alert systems to seniors and claiming that somebody had referred them (automated message). At the end of the message it says press 9 to opt out. Not sure if it works, but I tried it.
Barbara 2014-04-26 21:03:12 Unknown
I am getting the same message you are, and certainly nobody referred me either.
john 2014-04-26 11:48:53 Unknown
Make this crap stop
PT Barnum 2014-04-25 22:30:02 Unknown
When you pressed 9 you identified yourself as gullible. Probably correctly so. Expect even more junk calls now. Telecrooks love when people fall for this trick.
MotherEarth 2014-04-25 22:27:24 Telemarketer
I press '9' to opt out, but they continue to call. I press '1' to speak to a CSR and they hang up when I ask them to take my number off their list.

Recieved a call today 4/24/2014 from this particular phone number and as usual, no VM was left. It showed up on my CID as COLO. Don't know what "COLO" is and like so many other calls I recieve on a daily basis from Telemarketers, Solicitors or Scammers, just let my answer machine handle it. Of course, I don't return there phone calls even if a message is left.

Recieved this call today 4/24/2014 from 212-660-1821 and CID shows "COLO" and of course, no VM is left. After reading several post, this posses an interesting question.......... Why would a fund raising organization be calling me asking for donations to their fire department or their police department, especially when I don't live in NY, never been to NY and don't know anybody in NY either. WTH!!!???!!??!!
I don't answer calls from phone numbers I don't reconize.
Lester 2014-04-23 13:16:33 Unknown
The number called me again @ exactly 6PM on 4/22/14 and hung up when my answering machine picked up the call. Caller ID listed New York NY.
