Trying to sell life alert something or other. I blocked them. They are lowlife scum.

Doggonnit Carl,
You musta skipped Geography class in high school, 'caus you don't know that Connecticut is the same as NY, only they are spelled a little differently.
You burned up over 8 minutes of her time. That may be the only way to beat these scumbags. Do not call lists don't seem to work, because there are so many loop holes.
Good for you, Carl.

When they called I answered the phone and didn't say any thing and I keep saying hello and he or she didn't say any thing this might be a prank.

Yep, robocall that I had a "free" medical alert system, blah, blah, blah. This was the message on my voicemail, since we NEVER answer unknown (especially out-of-state) numbers. I must need it, I'm over 50, so I'm obviously enfeebled.

I talked to person and after some discussion gave my card number for AAA travel. That did not work for caller. He came back from me on hold and asked for the 800 number on back of card so he could verify my card number. I gave him 800 number for FBI internet crime center. Funny that these people still call me. If I am not busy I try to waste their time -- making up stories like being in nursing home and cannot find credit cards and ask caller to wait while I look in Bathroom or tell them about my friend with dementia or tell about my recent religious conversion. Time is money.

My way of dealing with these calls (when there is a live person on the other end),is to put the phone down (without hanging up) and going for a cup of coffee. If it's a recorded message, I just hang up and move on with life. Best advice - don't answer if you don't recognize the number or if you do answer to stop the ringing, just press END CALL. There's no law that says you must respond.

No message but free medic alert....why then do they need a credit card number....when I posed the question, the a$$hole hung up but not before I told him where to stick his medic alert. Idiots........

Robo call scam.......

They called our landline about 10 minutes ago. We didn't answer; they left no message. Glad to know we didn't miss anything. Thanks to all who report on this site!

Yes, it's the old "medical alert" scam. You're a referral from a friend, it won't cost you anything, and you'll get generous coupons and big discounts on stuff when you sign up. The First Law of Telephonics: Any call that comes in with a disguised Caller ID is a scam. Do not answer it, and do not call them back.

Since I have call shifting from our farm's number to my cell phone all I managed, luckily from what I've read here, to get was JUST the phone number rather than the `spiel'.
Marilyn 2014-04-01 21:46:44 Unknown
I am on every do not call list there is I still get calls from this number
Pluto67 2014-04-01 19:52:45 Unknown
I just got a call which I will add or have already added to my block list. I will now get no ring but I will be able to get list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers. The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

This is a robocall about a medical alert device. Last week they called me from 212-660-5351.
Dave 2014-04-01 18:58:04 Telemarketer
They called here. Machine answered and was a recorded message for a medic alert. I am on do not cal list.
Bethany 2014-04-01 16:45:12 Telemarketer
Automated call claiming I was referred by a friend and as a senior I am entitled to this great offer.
No friend of mine would refer me to such a call, to begin with, so already it is a suspect call!
Cut off the recording.

It was that free medical alert scam. What troubles me is that despite me picking up, listening for a few seconds, then hanging up,they were able to get into my voice mail! They are getting trickier by the day!!!
Caf 2014-03-31 21:12:37 Telemarketer
Just got a call from this number, I don't answer my phone anymore if I don't know who's calling me. I also have turned off my answering machine, so these idiots cannot even leave a message. Not interested in any one trying to sell me something over the phone. If I wanted a medical alert device, I would call myself. Someone needs to stop these a**hats from taking advantage of anyone
Myrna Hendricks 2014-03-31 18:45:56 Unknown

Just got yet another call from this number but I too never answer if I don't know the number/name. The left a message about my medical alert and the usual press 1 or 9.
Happy to file complaint, but feel it does absolutely NO good at all.

I received a call from 212-660-9874 at 4:48pm on 3/22/2014. Not home, no msg. left. ID showed from New York. Cleaning up my caller ID & blocked numbers & just googled this number & saw your post. How clever of you to do this. I can record conversation but know absolutely nothing about You Tube. Did love your video from this caller on You Tube. Thanks for hopefully stopping some of these scam calls. Thank God for caller ID. Had I been home would not have answered phone. Don't answer any call I don't recognize the number.

Here?s a free and valuable message: When you get an illegal robocall, hang up the phone. Don't press ?1? to speak to a live operator. And don't press any other number to get off the list. It will probably only lead to more robocalls. Report your experience to the FTC online at ftc.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP.

Friends,
Here's the full message from these crooks. Stay a mile away.
"We have a system waiting to be shipped out to you. Press one now to receive your personal medical alert system and my taking advantage today. You'll also receive one thousand dollars in grocery savings coupons plus seventy five percent prescription discount card. Again press one now to receive your personal medical alert system. Press nine to opt out."
missy dee 2014-03-29 13:29:29 Telemarketer
Keep getting these recorded messages saying I'm eligible to receive a free medical alert system. Also I can take advantage of $1k worth of grocery coupons! At the end of the message it says I can press 9 to opt out which I have done but they keep calling. Now that's a surprise! LOL I'm on the NDCL also.
missdee 2014-03-29 13:19:49 Telemarketer
Keep getting these recorded messages from this number. So much for the NDCL!!! At the end of the message is an option to "press 9 to opt out"', I have done so at least twice & they keep calling. I'm reporting them to the FCC.This message is targeted for seniors who might need some type of medical alert system.
