Called looking for our business owner (asked for him by first name). The guy wasn't rude, but they phone call was still annoying. I placed him on hold and googled "Fordham financ" (all that showed up on the caller ID). It seems there is a school or something with a very similar name so I thought it might be a legit call. Added "212-" to the search query and found out they're a financial management company. No thanks. I took the guy off hold, explained that my boss was unavailable, asked if he wanted voicemail. The guy politely declined and told me he would try again another time.

While these types of calls are super annoying, I'll give props to the guy for being nice/polite without being sleazy or salesperson-y.

Same number that calls here every week and it was at 8 AM again.   You would think that after 2 years of the guy calling and never getting passed me that he would quit pretending that my boss 'wants' to talk to him. He isn't that good at  investing anyone's money if he  wastes every Monday morning calling Kansas to scam someone.

My boss won't deal with cold callers, especially brokers, from any state in the country since he doesn't do stocks and bonds.

That phone number calls our business every week  and never leaves a message on voice mail.

How does one get their company removed from these calls?

It's a cold call from a broker (Fordham) with 'hot tip' to show you how good he is, and then to sign you up, trade randomly on your behalf, collect tons of commission and lose you thousands. Avoid.

They pull the data from D&B.  D&B sells our data to anyone with a credit card.

I think that they are pulling business owners names from somewhere...I get this phone call often and they have before asked me about if am the owner of my business.  But, usually they hang up.

Take me off the list.  Or I don't answer and they don't leave a message.  The lady told me today that she wanted to make me money.  Told her I don't talk to strangers about money and to take me off the list.  Until the next time these vampires call..

Don't hate them.  Make it illegal. We have the Internet if we want to buy something and don't need to take tips or advice from strangers. TIME TO OUTLAW TELEMARKETERS.  The existing laws do not work.  I run a one man business and am interrupted thousands of times per year by junk calls. The existing laws do not work.  WRITE your federal and state legislators. Give them details. Following is a list of repeat offenders. Some call multiple times every day for weeks. Jerk named William Crowell from Fordham Financial (in NY) called for our company's CEO, stating it was a "financial matter."  William was VERY rude, kept interrupting me, and asking if our CEO was there.  I knew it was a sales call, he must have thought I was born yesterday, and placed him on hold for a good few minutes.  When I came back to the call (w/o speaking w/our CEO), I told him that I was told to take a message.  He just hung up.  Someone should place a personal ad in craiglist w/his contact info.  Perhaps one stating he is looking for a mistress or master to whip him into shape, and include his work # in it, under category miscellaneous encounters.  That will teach this moron.
