It's a scam!!  Your name was sold to a scammer who tells you've won a cruise to the bahamas. Yes this is true ...but it's for a day pass on the cruise ship. No room, no meals, No perks, no nothing. You get to wander the deck for the two hours it takes to get there. No hotel when you disembark. You must find your own way to florida on your own. They say it's to reserve your ticket. What a scam!
Winning anything should not cost any thing unless it's a car, and thats for liciense and  tax. This scam has been going on for years. First time I heard it was at a car show twenty years ago. Free draw for 57 chevy. Watch out for those free wins at festivals and events.
String them along and ask them to talk to your dog , crying child or dead grandma, but don't ever give them your info .. any info.

I got the same call at work and I almost flipped out.. Until they asked for the number.. I politely declined by saying yes, I have a credit card, but I'm a student and my limit is only 500, he said it could still work, he'd just have to ask his boss, and I said, sorry, I really don't think It's going to work out, and he hung up. I didn't catch what his name or company was because I got all excited, but I entered at the London Everything to do with sex show.
4 days orlando/4days bahamas/2days ft. lauderdale, same as everyone else. No flight. Rental car "all you have to pay is gas, milage, tax, and insurance!".. I thought it sounded familiar.
At work we get these faxes with cheap vacations from "corporate travel centre"... Ran downstairs to look at one, EXACT same thing, even the 18 months to use it.. but the price on the fax was $199/person, not $299. So they're MAKING money through it. SCAM! Though I've often wondered if anyone has actually went through with it and went on the vacation. I've heard of similar things actually being quite good, and $199 is a decent deal (even w/o flight), so I'd like to meet someone thats said OK and went through with it. I know friends went on a cuba trip for 700 total for a week and loved it.

RUINED my day, I got so excited :(

Oh, and forgot to note, they said there was no way to call back, or for me to call them, it had to be NOW.. and they said it was offered to 2 percent of people.. meaning like, a ton of people got offered it. They also called yesterday but I didn't pick up.

I entered at Oktoberfest and they called me like crazy. Finally I answered, and they said the same schpeel about a 299$ fee per person, and she did mention that I would have to attend a brief 1 afternoon info session about property in florida and providence (bahamas) so this is probably on of those vacation scams where once you arrive they try and force you to buy things.

Just received a call from this number saying i won a trip. I filled out a contest form at a local show. They said i had to pay them 299 for the trip because it was a promotional offer. When i hesitated, he hung up.

same story as everyone else - entered at the sex show, got the call last night from Dave Ronson at imperial majesty cruises. Once i clued in that i had to pay the $300 per person, attend the timeshare presentation & pay for my own airfare i politely advised my "Travel Advisor" (what he kept referring to himself as after i called him on his sales techniques) that i wasn't interested at which point he started berating me, personally insulting me, calling me weak and frightened (i swear to god those were his exact words) for not giving my credit card number. i'm usually a pretty even tempered guy, but the conversation got out of hand, he was yelling at me (i was yelling back) and wouldn't get off the phone, demanding i give him my credit card info.
all in all, complete scam, however a little entertaining if you feel like a shouting match

got a call and they originally said I received a free cruise...then they went on to explain that this was nothing i won, but due to the entry i put in at the bc creative expo, i qualified for a promotional trip and would have to pay the taxes blah blah.  bottom line, they wouldn't let me call them back after discussing with my husband, wanted to put the promo fee of $299 US each on my credit card.  he got my info and then was going to transfer me to customer service to record the call, baby started crying so it gave me a chance to put them on hold and look them up.  dunno if it's a scam, but it's for a time share "talk"while you are on the trip.  they are very aggressive and called 4 times after i hung up the phone.

This number keeps calling my cell and never leaves a voicemail. I don't answer numbers that aren't programmed into my phone, so I did some research. Glad I found this site! Isn't there a way to get them shut down??

I entered a contest at Oktoberfest, not knowing that the promotion was actually a scam.  This number called stating the cruise winning things detailed above, but once he got to the credit card crap, I hung up.  You never have to pay for something that is "free."  Prize people are never, ever rude, and if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  He wanted the $299/person now, and wouldn't let it go.  He kept repeating and then demanding the card number.  Ugh, I hope they don't scam a bunch of people.

Haha, so I did get a call from this number. I entered a drawing from Octoberfest in WA state. I am the guy who actually went through with it because I got all excited for wining something. Anyways, I looked up this number AFTER I have given them my information. So I called them back, I told them I wanted to cancel the trip and I do not want them to charge my card for 598$. He tranferred me to a specialist, whom I had no problems with. Yes he was a salesman, as expected he was pushing me to stay. Nothing new and it didnt bother me. So after arguing back and fourth I decided to stick it out and see how legit this is.

I will be you're guys test dummy:
1. He offered me an extra night stay
2. Upgraded Cruise room
3. reduced the deposit amount to 149$
4. Sending me a 100% money back guarantee letter
5. Told me I can cancel the trip if I look over the details of the package and still don't like it

So obviously this isnt a free trip and I have come to terms with that. However it seems like I can get a good deal on a vacation or two for sitting through a sales speech (which seems to be the catch). Worst case now is I lose 149$. So, lets hope it is as good as it seems and everything goes peachy. HAHA, wishful thinking but oh well I am sure I'll make worse decisions than this in my lifetime. Curiousity killed the cat... or maybe just his wallet.

I asked for a physical adress and they did not give it to me. I told him that I had read about his scam on the internet because i had googled the missed call on my phone earlier. The got me at the oktober fest draw for a prize in Leavanworth WA.

my girlfriend and i both entered a "prize draw" at the Erotica show in London.
she got a call yesterday saying pretty much the same as to everyone else. she wasnt sure about it so got them to call me instead. i googled the number and came across this forum, which confirmed what I thought. i politely said "no thanks" to the guy on the phone. when i asked him where he was calling from he said new york (5th and 36th to be precise)
within 30 minutes of hangin up the phone i had another guy on the phone from the same company delightfully informing me that I had won!! coincidence?! methinks not!!
i dont think that it is a scam as such as i think there may actually be a holiday at the end of it (but i wasnt going to risk £200 to find out). i have heard about this sort of thing with cruises in Holland. Basically they give you the worst room and the bare minimum of everything and you are invited to pay "upgrades" so the "free" holiday ends up costing you the same as a regular holiday anyway.
whilst it may not be a scam it is definitely mis-sold at the front end

Same number called my house two nights in a row looking for my gf. They would not leave a message or even a name.
Then got word from my GF, that they had called her cell phone 4 times... They called again and i asked how they got this number, they replied well I she s on a list. I asked them to remove it or I will contact the police. They agreed to do so, however i still recieved 2 calls after...this happened today..they will most likely call again. The first time is was a male...second time was a foreign lady. They are very rude on the phone and will not leave a message or any form of identity. Not even a company name..

Just got a call from the same # telling me I won a cruise to the Bahamas. Apparently I had entered a contest back in Sept. Told her I wasn't interested and they said they would pass it on. Was very polite about the whole thing, but did say they I would have had to pay $299 and find my own way down to Florida.

Thanks everyone for posting this information.  I've received two calls on my cell today from this number but I keep ignoring because I'm at work.  They never leave a message.

I was at a bridal show this weekend and was entering in to a few contests.  It must be the same people.

Do they ever stop calling if you just ignore them?

I also went to Canada's Bridal Show in Toronto and got the call.  The guy told me to sit down because he had great news for me, that I won a free cruise.  I had heard of this scam before where they tell you that you only have to pay a bit, however in the end you end up paying a lot.  Anyway he asked for my credit card expiry date, so I gave it to him and then he asked for my credit card number.  I laughed at him and told him that there was no way that I was going to give that information over the phone and why should I if I just won a free trip.  He became very rude gave me some website to go claim my prize and hung up the phone.  When I went on the site it was a cruise website but it was very basic and generic with no information about claiming a prize.

I checked the phone number and it was a NYC number that he called from.  I sent an email reporting this to the wedding show and I gave them a link to this site to let them know it has hapened to quite a few people, however I never heard back.

Went to a Wine Expo in Boston recently and entered a few contests -- seems like this is an on-going scam where the company poaches people from trade shows.  212-736-6919 has called twice a day for two days, but NEVER leaves a voicemail. Very annoying!
