I entered a draw in Edmonton, AB, at the Taboo Show. There was a really pushy gentleman getting everyone who walked past himto fill out an entry form. About a week later I inexplicably get a call from 212-736-6993, I missed the call three times already and when I went to Yellow Pages.com I got the name "Teletours" based out of New York, futher Googled the number.

Called the the 1-800 number and got a travel agent company, and they say that they cannot help me.

So good luck getting them to stop calling you.

Received a call on Monday from a guy named Greg PETROFF who said that I had been selected for a trip to the Bahamas (leaving from Florida on a cruise ship). I had filled out my information for the draw while I was at Canada's Wedding Expo in Toronto, CANADA the previous Saturday. He also told me that the 8 day, 7 night trip was completely free and only a tax fee of $299 applied. He asked for my credit card information. I was skeptical and told him I didn't have the card with me. He gave me a fax number: 212-736-6993 to send the information later on and an "older" website with information on the trip: imcv.net.... I have written to the Expo and asked for answers... BEWARE!!

When I have answered a guy told that I have won a trip to the Bahamas and all I have to pay is an expense fee of $299.00.
I've requested more information on mail and I want to know his name, but he has given a phone number where I can call: 1-800-818-6890.

Teletours has been callin me non-stop.  My beautiful wife signed up for at "Door Prize."

When I told them tonight I was not interested and to not call me again, the guy told me to Shut Up!  When I said WHAT?  He said WHAT? Then gave me a loud tone over the line.  They have messed with the wrong person.  I do telemarketng for my non-profit.  I know how to get a hold of these people.

The joke will be on them.

Went to the Boston Wine Expo Feb 9th.. Actually saw and filled out the "win Free Trip" to Bahamas booth and filled out two forms (me and my wife)- I walked away shaking my head saying every one filling out these cards are going to get scammed in the near future... and I couldn't get my card back!! Well, they called my wife yesterday and me today...  I couldn't get a phone number from them the first time but I got 2 phone numbers this time  (212) 994-2308 (FAX Number) and (212) 736-6993.  I told them to send me info - of course they said it was a one time offer!!!  I like answering the phone as the police department ;)

I don't answer my phone when I see unfamiliar numbers.  This number has appeared three times in the past two days (twice in the past hour).  It's obnoxious.  Please get them to stop stalking me!

Got the same exact call as all the ones listed above.
I was just recently at a bridal show and filled out some ballots.  What a scam!  Somehow they managed to hack into them and get people's info.

They seem to be getting less patient though - I let his talk and wrote notes and everything - but as soon as I said I wasn't prepared to committ without having something in writing - he hung up on me!
Hilarious really...I guess they are getting more savy.  Which means be extra EXTRA careful - they'll be getting new tactics I'm sure.

Good Luck!

Oh - and they told me to call 1-800-203-9783.
All these numbers and stories are all over the internet as a SCAM.

I just answer all strange numbers "Douglas County Police Department, how may I place your call this evening?" They hang up. Try it. My friends all know it's me and they laugh, but others just hang up. I used to use the air-horn but one of my friends called with a calling card one time and didn't appreciate it. Ha!

I got the same call on Dec 14 2007 after attending an electronics expo in Salt Lake City UT.  (The whole event was scam) I had to pay to get in, and there was just crap. Anyway, I did fill out the form.

The lady told me the same, free trip to the Bahamas.
4 days in Orlando at the Ramada,
2 day cruise to Bahamas with Imperial Majesty cruises
3 days in Fort Lauderdale
free car rental the whole trip.

I would have 1.5 years to schedule the trip
trip valued at $3000

requirements:
$299 per person
won't send info until they have you paid (they said I could pay half now)

They also said the trip was transferable

I personally am very weary of giving any info over the phone, and would not give out my cc# before receiving the information.  I told her I had to think about it, and she said she would try and call me back on Monday (the call was on Friday). She also said that the company was going to be calling a lot of other people and I might not have a chance if I wait.

If she calls back I'll post back to let you know what other information I can get from her.

Just thought I'd provide some info for others who get the call.

I'm from up north here in Saskatchewan, Canada and just had a call from this number.  It sounded fishy to me, but I was willing to win a trip to the Bahamas, so listened and asked questions.  He knew my age and profession, so it sounded like he got information about me, but he had mixed up knowledge about our "Buffalo Days" fair and my credit card which really made me suspicious.  I refused to give him my number and told him to send the package and I would pay later.

Anyway, he told me that "they" had to sign a contract with the Canadian government and didn't I trust the government? so I should give him my number.  I told him that I trusted the government more than him, and that pretty well ended the conversation.

So, whoever is at this number is going international.

Just received a call tonight in Regina, SK saying that I was eligble for some Winnipeg Blue Bomber stuff. These dumb a**es should at least say Rider stuff before I even remotely consider ridiculous calls like this. I filled my ballot out at Exhibition too this summer. I always wondered why they asked what type of credit card we had on the ballot form. Just goes to show you there is fraud no matter where you look in this world. Scary isn't it. I contacted the Exhibition association. Good thing I don't have a credit card :). Go riders go!

Recently I attended a commercial show where I entered a "Free trip to the Bahamas contest" - I know...mistake right there! Anyway, I have been receiving phone calls from this number all week on my cell. Finally decided to answer the call and sure enough I had been selected the winner of the contest offering an all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas. Excited, I told one of my friends...interestingly enough he had won the same trip last year at the same commercial show. Great Luck? I don't think so! He ended up canceling his CC number last year and I will have a few select words for these people when they call me again. I don't know whether this is a US post site or not but just wanted to add that these crooks are targeting Canadians as well so my fellow Canucks be careful. If you should get a call from this company, report them to the joint Government of Canada / RCMP website; Project PhoneBusters (888)495-8501...I intend to. Thanks!

I got the call tonight too, and the guy seemed surprised when he told me i had won a free trip to the bahamas for 2 and i didnt act excited or say anything.....he was like hello? mam? did you hear what i said? you won a trip!

i said oh and he asked if i remembered filling out a form at the ex in regina, i did fill something out but i never said i had a cc on that form, just my name and ph # was all i put on it, so when i told him i didnt have a cc he said oh well we weill have to give the trip to someone else.....and i searched the # online and found this site....funny....my kids were listening to the call and learned a lesson about fraud!!!

A nice lady called saying, " We had been hand selected from a drawing for an all expense trip to Florida and a cruise." I was very excited, she then mentioned a $299 fee per person, and asked for a CC number to hold our tickets. We told her we don't give our CC number out over the phone. We asked if there was any other way to hold our tickets, she replied that we could give her our bank information. We said no and she was quick to hang up. We were a little bumbed. I later googled the number to see if it was real. Glad we didn't give out any info.

Got a call from Tom with that number. Said he was from NY with Great Vacations Destinations. Said I have been selected from a registration I filled out at the EX. in Regina SK. I am from there but did not recall filling anything out. He knew a bit about me, but just public stuff. I stopped him just after he indicated that there would a "processing" fee of $299 and told him that if his new question had to do with my CC number that we could stop there. At that point he gave me # 800-829-5707 to call and confirm that they were legit. I googled that number same sort of comments as here. Free trip my a**. Never give out a CC number unless you are 110% sure of who you are dealing with. Thanks!!
