I received an call from 1-212-777-3009 in December 2013, early in the morning. It was a female voice saying that she was calling from Microsoft. According to her, my computer had been hacked and I shouldn't let it idling... (So kind of global mega-company Microsoft to care about me...). I asked the lady for her name and agent number and, surprise, we got cut off!

I see I'm not the only one who got that bad joke. I wish something concrete could be done to prevent or stop these fraudulent calls.

Same # called me, line was full of static and hard to hear, plus his strong accent.
Could not understand and hung up.
Seconds later he called back and first words out of his mouth where " why did you hang up on me"
Complete fraud!

they said they were calling from microsoft and wanted me to access  my computer by pressing windows key and R at the same time.  I asked for their phone number and was told that they could not give it to me, but it displayed on my caller ID...

I did ask for their phone number, and they told me that they couldn't give it to me.

Woke up my son.... What is wrong with these people? Hope these early morning calls quit asap.

Got a call this morning from a man saying he was from Windows and I had malicious software on my computer.  Said he would guide me through getting rid of it.  I hung up and called Microsoft.  they said they are not allowed to phone customers and that it was a scam.

Got a  call from this number. Person  who spoke to me had a thick Indian Accent.  He claims to be calling from "Microsoft" and wants to clean my computer immediately as Microsoft has information that my laptop will be hacked by someone very soon.....  I did not agree with the person on the phone and asked him questions like; how could he get access to my home phone, where is he calling from ..etc...
I disagreed to imply with his suggestions as the only laptop I have is my work laptop... He threatened me to call the cops If I did not peform  the steps he provided... after a long argument ..  I hung up on him... I got a call back  again and the person would want me to talk to his supervisor this  time as I did not trust him.... I hung up again..

This number called me at 7:30 am central time. They were "alerting" me that my ip address had been hacked by a DNS changing virus. They had vague personal info like name, address, and number. They asked me to give them access to my computer so they could help as they are the IT Solutions division of Microsoft. I repeatedly told them no there is no issue and I didn't trust them. They passed me up to their "supervisor" who said the problem was i needed to renew my windows license and that would enable them to help me. It was very strange.

Prank Call
I'm going to manage these calls from 212-777-3009 the same way I manage the calls from people claiming to be with Microsoft. About a year ago I told the 'Microsoft' caller that I didn't have a pc. He was insistent that I did...but I haven't heard from them since.

Last week I got a call from Tejada at 212-777-3009. She was giving to give me a refund on my 24/7 support program because they were no longer providing phone support. She even knew how much money I had paid for the support. That threw me off my game. When she asked me to load the program that allows individuals to access my pc...I hung up. She immediately called back and I just let the phone ring. When she called me again the next day I told her that if she continued to call me I'd take action to stop her. She just kept screaming "You can'd do anything!"

This morning my phone rang at about 6am; the call was coming from Tejada.

I'm sure that next week or the week after Tejada will have someone else to lash out at and she'll quit calling me. But, in the meantime, I'm calling the phone company  in the morning and reporting harassing phone calls from this number.

Wish me luck.

LOL! I had my comp built by a independent outfit to my specs. I had it rebuilt a couple of years ago also, so its upgraded after the mother board developed dementia from old age.  I learned early on to stay away from the name brands and all the garbeldy gook I didn't want or need. But yeah, I get the picture.. we paid <insert brand name> here.  ;)

Also, refunding money implies that you've paid someone.  I wonder who they claim to be that you know you've paid.  I know I didn't pay Microsoft when I bought my computer -- I paid HP or Dell, etc... or maybe Best Buy - you get the idea.
