Received call from this number today.  When I answered, a man asked me to hold for another, put me on hold for a second, and then the line was picked up.  That individual (could have been the same guy) then launched into an equities sales pitch.  Told him I was not interested, and he persisted to ask me if I had a favorite stock, "everyone has a favorite stock", told him I had to go, said good bye, and hung up.  The number links online to "Silverback Equity" and a single page website with their name, address and phone number, but no other information.   Clearly a shady boiler room operation.  Stay away.

Silverback Equity keeps calling and hanging up when they don't get through to the attorney they are trying to call.  They call at least 3-4 times a week.  Hate these folks.  They are rude and obnoxious.

He asked for one of my attorneys and I said he was unavailable - tried to get more info and he just hung up.  I'd like to call him back and tell him how rude he is.

Got two calls from this number today, 212-785-1285.  Asking for two different attorneys I work for.  When I tell the caller that the attorney is not available, they say I'll call back.  When I told him that one attorney was not in, he hung up.  The calls were back to back.  Scammers!

I'm an office manager for a Plastic Surgeon. Got the same call. The caller is very shady. When I asked who's calling he hangs up on me. I've added him to my pickup, then hang up the phone list! I personally don't understand how these calls are legal.

Just wondering who is calling

This person has called every attorney here acting like he knows them and calling them by first name. When I ask where he's calling from or if he is a referral, he says he'll just send him an email and hangs up. No emails have been received. I've answered FIVE calls from this number today. Why isn't there a way to block numbers on business lines?

Got a call from 212-785-1285, they asked for me by name.
Caller kept asking me all kinds of questions, wanted to send me a business card. Got a little personal at the end about my finances. so I gave him false info. The call left me with a very uneasy feeling. Tried calling the number afterwards and kept getting a busy signal.

I think I will start answering my phone as a different name for now on. :)

Had a guy call from this number and asked for my boss by the wrong name then had the wrong name of the company when i told him there was no one here by that name and could i help him he said "no i have his email right here i will email him."  yeah ok good luck with that

I got a call from this number. I believe it is warren Buffett from the sounds of it. I think he is just using a code names.

The same as all the rest - asked for the CEO by name, said the CEO would know who "Tim Miller" was.  Then hung up before I could put him to voice mail, as I am familiar with this telemarketing approach, and wouldn't put him through.

Male caller asked for my boss by his first name. Told him he's not available; could I take a message. He said no, he'd just shoot him an email. I appreciate this site.

Allegedly stock brokers/sales call...
A man called asking for an attorney by first name only.  When i asked his name he gave his first name and asked if he was in. I started saying I'm not trying to be rude but I have received several calls from.... and before i could finish my sentence he hung up on me.  I have received few different men have been calling from this number. Sometimes they will leave a voice mail sometimes they say they will call back but most times they hang up on me!  Very rude!  Because of this i will not put them through.

Called, asked for a former partner. When told he is no longer with the firm, asked for another partner. Dan from R&R, said attorney would know who he was. Lost the call before I could send to voicemail.

He asked for one oh the attorney's I asked what he's name was and only gave the name Jordan, I asked if I could his last name or if that was his last name and he hung up...how rude!

A Joel Brysocker called from this #.  As mentioned above, said "he will know why I am calling, is he in."  When I told him that the person he was trying to contact was not sure he knew who he was, Joel rudely hung up on me.  Obviously, this guy did not know us or our company like he mentioned.    

Suspects is a stock broker - Matt Thompson R & R.  When you ask what it's regarding he gives the standard, 'Oh he'll be familiar'.
