I am a legitimate stock broker and I make cold calls to solicit new business, do I look to screw people? No.
Do I look to harass people? Absolutely not, I only like to deal with people who are serious about doing business with someone like myself. And If you knew how closely regulated the industry is, I cannot own the same stocks as my clients, because FINRA looks at it as manipulation. BELIEVE ME I know for a fact my industry is full of scumbags who shouldn't even be referred to as stockbrokers, I call them stock jockeys, the kind of guys who like to increase assets under management and move money every month even when clients are down just to make a paycheck or make a payment on their ferrari. I like to pride myself for not being one of these guys, and my U-4 shows it as I have ZERO marks on my license. Fact is we've all had bad experiences in all aspects of life, but we can't hold others responsible for the mistakes and stupidity of others in that field.
Sincerely,
One of the good guys.

Having worked for this company many a moon ago I am shocked to see these negative posts. Speaking from FIRST hand experience they are NOT a boiler room. They hire believe it or not very qualified, knowlegable, eager, and professional people. Being a broker is not an easy job and takes a great deal of time. A proven technique is actually cold calling to find new clients. I do agree that a great deal of cold calls are from- stock slingers, they are not one. Each employee (at least when I was there) was a registered broker, kept up with all the lastest research on picks and had availabilty to a variety of private equity deals. The partners themselves hold graduate degrees in various disiplines as do some of the brokers. If you take the time and speak with them I am sure you will be pleasantly suprised. The only reason I am making comment is that I have personally been down this road. You cannot fault someone for being persistant in becoming successful. As I am in a completely different business and have some level of wealth my reaction to these types of calls is (it can't hurt). Why not hear a young guy out on a new idea. Certainly does not cost anything. And you neveer know he may actually know what he is talking about. I will leave off with this.
The only reason I have the work ethic I do, sales ability and candor is a direct result of being groomed and trained by this company. They taught me how to focus, find information, build a work ethic, conduct myself in a professional manner, and above all always be honest with people in business. I take great offense to anyone putting someone down without actually knowing first hand how their operation runs. In conclusion I personal thank the three of them for making me the success I am today. And that is just the facts!

Got a VM from someone from "Allen Partners." I'm always suspicious when someone you don't know calls but doesn't offer the reason for the call. Won't be calling back.
JOE 2011-12-17 18:15:04 Unknown
IF YOU NEVER CALLED HIM BACK HOW WOULD YOU KNOW IT WAS A SCAM? BEFORE YOU MAKE SILLY AND UNFOUNDED COMMENTS YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR FACTS.
joe 2011-12-17 18:11:20 Unknown
BOTH OF THOSE STOCKS WERE HOME RUNS 1 YEAR AFTER HE MENTIONED THEM. YOU SHOULD WRITE THAT

Had a call from Jonathan Oradgie (not sure of spelling) asking to call him back at Allen Partners 212 812-8900. Very authoritarian voice requesting to call him back like I fricken know him or something. Thanks to this web site I won't waste a long distance charges to phone him back. Thanks for all those who report these scammers.

This caller actually called Allen Partners and said "Would you like to buy some F#$@#@# REITS. Whose got the F@$@#$@ money at this place. Who the F@#!% is this"
Marty probably dropped the F bomb a dozen times. He would not identify himself (We also have Caller ID). Most people don't call a place of business like that. Classy guy. He then proceeded to pocket dial the Allen Partners office about 25 times for the remainder of the day. Allen Partners is a legitimate broker firm located in Midtown Manhattan.
His name is Martin Feldman. His information is below. Hopefully, he isn't as rude to you, and develops some manners. Here is his information:

The best thing about this company is that they are so stupid and cheap that they only have one phone number. Call them and then say nothing when they answer the phone. I bet it won't be long before they change their tactics.

I am in France, and receieved an inbound call from a man calling himself Mr. Burke. He called me on my mobile while I was on the family farm seperating the sheep from the dogs. I was a bit a taken back by his charisma and "in your face" style. I then made a request of the American to call me back in 20 minutes after I had herded the sheep into the feeding area. Mr. Burke called me back 30 in minutes later, and we had a great convesation about the fluctuating dollar/euro relationship. He was spot on. At the end of the call, I told the American "it is highly likely" in response to his question about the chances of of us doing business together. As long as my wife is OK with sending funds to the USA, I will proceed with mr. burke, but on a cautious basis.

I am just a simple German Businessman. I received a few of these calls on my caller id, I knew they were coming from new york, and decided to finally pick up. I must say i had a great conversation with a man who called himself "Jason Burke." We had a great conversaton about growth stocks in the US, and he even offered me a few stocks to track. I look forward to our follow up call sometime down the road.

Guttentaug! I received a vm from a Chris Rosse from this number. He sounded like a ladies man so I called him back. Apparently, this firm manages equity portfolios for high net worth investors around the globe (I am in Hamburg!). The US market is a great place to be right now so I am okay with this. Mr. Rosse was excited, professional, and his face is handsome.
felix the cat 2011-08-30 17:25:54 Unknown
Hilarious! And how long have you "worked" there?
Felix from Dubai 2011-08-30 17:24:38 Political Call
My PA answered a call from a Chris Rossi today from the US. She wasn't familiar with him, but immediately thought he sounded like a good looking guy so she transfered the call to me. Although, I don't have a picture of Rossi, I concur with my PA's initial assesment of Chris as a strikingly good looking man. Chris then introduced himself and his company Allen Partners. It was a very pleasant call. After the call, I logged onto the world wide web to research Chris and Allen. I found mostly positive things expect for this site which seems to have Chris and Allen Partners pegged completely wrong. I look forward to doing business with Chris in the future if he can impress me with one of his ideas.

Chris Rossi has called our company numerous times. Interesting to note, this guy called last month and said his name was "Jason Burke"! I remember because he leaves a very distinct message - sounds like he's SHOUTING. He will not be getting a return call!

Ive been tracking recommendations from Jason Burke for the last few months. I should have listened because he was spot on with his picks. Savvy guy, and extremely polite and professional.

I get sales calls all the time. My issue with these people: They are VERY RUDE. Asking for a name that does not work here and then calling me the B-word. Really?!? And they want to sell me something.
How can I get off their list? They or some company like them call here once a month asking for Ashley...
jspurr01 2011-07-27 21:03:46 Unknown
Not sure calling the forum participants "idiots" is a good way to get them to listen to your points.
Crad 2011-07-12 15:16:54 Unknown
I have to say, that IS NOT how the financial business works... When is the last time you received an arogant and rude call form a reputable firm? Just another bunch of cold calling jack*** scumbags. Great example of how NOT to run a business.
hm 2011-06-15 17:14:05 Telemarketer
Got a call from "Chris Rossi at Allen Partners". Same deal, he leaves a breathless message like you surely already know him and he has something urgent to talk about. Of course I don't return his calls because I once did and he was selling securities or something like that.
Steve 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
These guys are scumbags. I was on the DNC and they still called me numerous times claiming that they "would update their list so i would no longer get called". i would highly recommend reporting them to finra so they get fined. also, you should know that in some states YOU get the money when you report companies like Allen Partners. in other words, this do***ebag company gets fined $10k and you get the money. Pretty good deal right?!
here's how to report these guys. call FINRA and alert them that you are being harassed by Allen Partners. Tell them you have their CRD#
Main FINRA Phone Number: (301) 590-6500)
Allen Partners
Firm CRD# 36518

Worst Brooklyn accented pitch i ever heard... told him I'm series 7 licensed, which I am, and that shut him up. My initial thought was Boiler Room bucket shop. Don't waste your time.
Ana 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
New scam idea they have.
I was searching online job database for an non-paid intern position. So I found a very nice job posting about a position. I applied for it. Two days later i got a call inviting me to a interview, but i kinda felt something was wrong about the caller so I said I may not make it. They are suppose to send me a e-mail with comfirmation and adress if i can make it. I googled the phone number and it was this number.
Monica 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
It happend to me last week. He wanted to talk to my boss - re "business". As usual those kind of callers never tells you their numbers, I was surprised, that he left me his number. So I thought he may be one of those who really matters to my boss. Thanks to you, I was able to identify him...
Have a nice day. Monica

That Schemell guy must be a genius!

212-812-8900 called me as well. Thomas Schemell with Allen Partners to call him back at 212-812-8896. He was pushing highly undervalued stocks on extremely good fundamentals. I challenged him because I'm a technical trader and he told me to watch CSIQ and HK - Energy/Solar stocks and to call back in a month. I will wait and see.

Called by Russ Williams whose pitch is right out of the movie Boiler Room. First claimed Allen Partners is a private equity firm and then proceeds to push "hot stocks." Had I had more time I would have waited for the hot IPO pitch, but what is the point dealing with such people.
Interestingly, when I asked Williams if he was a licensed broker he said yes. Then I asked Series 7 or what license. This apparently got him off guard and he said he could tranfer me to a "Senior Broker."
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH PEOPLE!
