They called me, I spoke to them. They said they would lower my credit card payment. I asked them which one, they replied Visa or Mastercard. I asked them what company they were calling from they answered "Your credit card company" I asked to speak to a manager and they hung up on me. Hahahahaha

Recorded message from Heather from "Credit Card Svcs." I intensely dislike these mofos.

SCAM! Called saying they could lower credit card interest rates. Asked which card it was for and they said Mastercard for BOA, US Bank, Chase, etc etc, listing off a bunch of companies that used mastercard. I told them I don't have a mastercard. They said 'Oh, it's for your visa then'. I then told them I don't use credit cards and they hung up before I could get another word out.

The card service scammers WILL "service" our credit cards, BUT, when they finish "servicing" them, they will have no available credit remaining!

Didn't leave a message, but caller ID was spoofed as "Columbia University", which apparently it is NOT.

Called, automated message said it was to lower interest rates in my credit card. Pressed 1 to Speak to someone and told them I have no credit cards, they hung up.

Received a message from this number that I did not want. Want it to stop.

So I take it that this is NOT Columbia University! Ha! I just had a call and there was nobody there.

Just got the call too, hit 1 anyway since I knew they were phishing and it hung up anyway.
Relentless on the scamming - Never give your personal information if someone calls you - ALWAYS hang up and call the company directly!

I got the missed call on my cell phone just now too. Thanks for the heads up and the idea to "block the number" -- there are several telemarketers I will now block that are so annoying. Thanks for the helpful info!

Same "lower credit card interest" scam.
| Ruth Rainwater 2014-04-24 20:47:06 Telemarketer |
Identified themselves as Credit Card Services with Chase and Bank of America and would reduce my interest rate. I am on the Do Not Call List; this call came in on my cell phone; and they keep getting away with this.

I just received a call - caller id showed #212-854-4894 and said Columbia University. Didn't answer as I know no one from the NYC area, much less Columbia. Voice mail left said they were calling to "lower my interest rates" - obviously not from Coiumbia. Is this legal???

The actual callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated.

Just got a call to my home phone (4/24/14 11:49am pst), same "Columbia University" caller id that others mentioned. It was a robocall telemarketer "calling about my credit card account. You currently have no problem, but you have the opportunity to lower your interest rate." Hung up. Yep, they ignore the do-not-call list.

This number appeared on my caller id, don't know who is calling. Please don't call me, I'm in the do not call list registry if you are a telemarketer.

CAREFUL OUT THERE THEY TRYING TO SCAM US !!
| oj 2014-04-14 21:06:30 Telemarketer |
This is definitely a phishing scam. They claim it's "an urgent message about your credit card", but at no point do they identify themselves as any particular company. Even pressing 2 to "discontinue further notices" just flag you as a live number in their database. Just hang up.
(P.S. site admins, you really need a "scam/suspicious" category for call type!)
