If they don't speak, I don't think it is on purpose. They probably use some computer to make the calls.

Ha ha- My thoughts exactly... I've paid my dues at the box-office.

This is a great idea - I am also getting hounded, thanks for the tip

Good morning.
I wish we could afford to go to the NYC ballets. We happened to be there at a symposium, and bought tickets.
Thanks, kindly.

Sales call from NYC Ballet. Never stops.
Charlotte 2011-09-12 22:58:08 Unknown
Definitely New York City Ballet. Last time I answered it I explained to them that we're moving overseas and I would not be buying tickets, please take me off the list. I guess they didn't. Oh well, the cell phone will be canceled shortly and I know better than to give them my number next time.

They are relentless! Get them to stop!
Katherine 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
Definitely is New York City Ballet trying to give you special offers that they can "only give you via telephone, not via email". You'll have to ask them not to call you back and be clear about it. I told them they were calling my cell phone number, and no thanks I wasn't interested but that I'd get back to the ballet as soon as I could, and thanks for calling. I wasn't clear enough with my message because they called me 2 days later-didn't leave a voicemail, but I will answer next time and tell them not to call me anymore because otherwise the calls will keep coming. I'm happy to support the arts, but not happy to run over my allotted cell phone minutes.

NYC Ballet calling subscribers.
Paulette 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
Yeah I get calls from that number occasionally. It's probably because I contributed to their fund once so now they want more money!
Pat 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
Called my pay-per-use cell phone. I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message. It would have cost me $0.99 plus 10 cents a minute if I had answered the call. I have no idea who they are, nor how they got my number.
No thanks.

This number is from New York City Ballet, and trying to sell you the tickets.
NYC Surfer 2011-06-06 20:42:57 Unknown
Called me today, i picked up, we talked for a bit. They said it was NYC ballet. What a waste of time.

NYC Ballet - they used to call weekly but now down to once per month. my assistant at work gave them my cell phone (!!) and now they call that all the time. they used to call the office, but now it's nights and weekends....i know they need money, but don't understand why they don't leave a message or email....

Thanks for the posts! I just got a call from them also -- they are terrible at their continual phone calls!

I went to one ballet eight months ago and they've been calling my cell phone twice a day for the past week. Terrible.
Mcebargo 2010-06-11 16:06:39 Unknown
Does anyone know long do these fundraisers last? I am starting to get very annoyed with the constant calls :(
Rhea 2010-04-05 20:22:34 Unknown
They call me multiple times a day, trying to lock me in for tickets...I made the mistake of picking up a couple of weeks ago and told them I would most likely be out of town for spring and not able to go to any performances, and they still won't stop!!!!!!
gabriel 2010-03-29 22:32:36 Unknown
Really, 15 calls every week (including weekends and nights) and not even speaking when you pick up?
When they already have my email and could send all the info I (don't) need? I guess they know it's harder to filter out phone spam than email spam :(
susan 2009-12-15 20:28:40 Unknown
Thanks for the heads up.

got one of those calls from nycb...they are the most personable, informed fundraisers of any organization that has called me...i'm considering one of the levels they suggested so i could bring my niece to the dress rehearsal of Swan Lake in February..and they said they'd send me a dancer's diary as a premium!! i don't understand the annoyance some of you are feeling....the Arts need support more than ever, and what other alternative do they have but to call????
Erin 2009-11-30 18:26:31 Telemarketer
NYC Ballet. I actually programmed this number into my cell phone so I would remember not to pick up. They are extremely aggressive - they call me non-stop whenever they have one of their campaign drives and, if you make the mistake of picking up the phone, they will not let you get off!
Do Not Call 2009-09-21 19:11:26 Unknown
The NYC Ballet is TERRIBLE about these telemarketing calls. They bug me constantly--every day of the week including weekends and nights. I'm on the Do Not Call registry and hate that they're allowed to call me just because I've been a customer in the past. They already send mail to my residence every performance season, and I'm perfectly capable of buying tickets when I'm interested. Their aggressive marketing tactics are enough to make me reconsider whether I want to attend any more of their ballets!

I also received a call from 212-870-4240. I realize everyone is trying to raise money, but just because I purchased tickets from them, (and rather expensive ones at that) doesn't mean they should keep calling me. Worse yet, I answered the phone, and they didn't actually say anything. Truly annoying.

Received call from 212-870-4240 on my cell phone on Thursday, March 19 at 2:18 pm. Didn't answer but it was clearly from an unknown party.

They are calling again. Trying to sell tickets.

Thanks. This is very helpful. No reason to call the NYC ballet back to give them money for nothing. I spend enough money on tickets to see their shows as it is.
Elle 2008-10-01 19:39:50 Unknown
Really appreciate the post. Picked up the phone no one answered. Was concerned because children live in NYC. Thank-you!

Thanks for posting this. I got a call from this number but didn't answer. Glad to know there is no reason to call back
