Got at text message : Please contact 2128711792 Bank of America xxxxxxxxxxxxxD Card Limited.

I dont have a BOA account but I called to see what was up.  It said to due high volume of fraud attempts my account was placed on hold.  To reactivate press 1.  I did not press anything and it asked for my 16 digit account number.  Never had a creditor not have an 800 number and they dont ask for the card number without other identifying info.   SCAM!

Apparently it is only happening to Sprint Customers.  You can call Sprint and have them block number from your phone or you can download Mr Number on your phone to block call.

Got a text today showing this message: BOfA. Please call 212 871 -1792. Called the number (not from my cell phone) and got a recorded woman's voice stating I had reached Bank of America telebranch service...there was fraud on my account starting with xxxx number and to press 1 to proceed with fraud assistance. The next prompt is to enter your 16 digit debit card number.  Well, that is shocking since I am not a BofA customer nor have I ever been. Most banks will give the last four digit of your account..not the first digits. When in doubt, don't give any information and call the bank's real customer service or local branch phone number in your area. The text user came in as urgent@boa.com

I got a txt message from 212-871-1792 claiming BofA with the response address of urgent@boa.com
i called and it said "your BOA credit card beginning with 43560 might have been compromised, please enter the full card number..."
1: i dont have and NEVER have had BOA
2: i live in the DFW area and have Sprint as my provider
3: ic3 has already heard from me before... im not afraid to do it again...
4: my number is ALREADY on the do not call list
5: already called the REAL BOA and they confirmed this is NOT a number they have in their directory.

UGH I wish people would just stop being so rediculous! I'm sure its no bueno for those that actually were not as wise and grabbed their card out and keyed it in... watch your bank statements for the next 6 months and CANCEL YOUR CARD!

I have Sprint and live in Dallas. I have been getting a ton of these texts. Every time I block one another email address with a different number pops up. HINT for sprint users send "SPAM <sender>" to 9999 and Sprint will block that email address from texting you. Of course you have to do that for each email address thats texts you. But at least it helps a little.

First I received call from a 469-249-6846, a recording asking if I was (my first and last name), recording said her name was Jackie Smith, with foreign accent. I hung up phone. A few minutes later I received a text showing from urgent@boa.com with the link to 212-871-1792. When I went to the link there was a recorded message asking for my bank card#, I hung up. Out of curiosity, I called the 212 number and got a recording saying my bank card  with the number (it gave me a portion of my bank card #)  may have been used fraudulently, then it gave instruction to press option #l to cancel card and stop fraud charges. I called BOA and was told there was no record of fraud on my card. Agent said when they report fraud to a customer they use a 800# or an email. Hope this helps others.
