Only alumni from NYU? I just got a hang-up call from them. I never went to that school. Graduated in 1980 from Embry-Riddle in Daytona, Degree in Aeronautical Science.

These NYU idiots, yes idiots, call me 2-3 times a week between the hours of 7 am - 10 pm on my cell phone.  This is completely inappropriate and annoying.  I have never even been to NY.  I have lived in CA since 1976 and graduated from University of California Santa Barbara.  I hope all of you that attended NYU received a better education than the students that are calling.

Someone from this # calls my cell 2-3 times a week between 7 am - 10 pm.  This is completely inappropriate.  According to the responses I have read, this # is for NYU.  My question is why are these idiots calling me?  Live in CA and have never been to NY, let alone attended NYU.  I went to Univ. of Calif. Santa Barbara. When I answer, the person just hangs up. So strange and annoying....

It is obnoxious that they call my cell#. I have no idea how they got my cell because I graduated from NYU in 2000, when I didn't have a cell. I don't want them researching my personal cell and calling me at 8pm at night.

They called me right after 9/11.  Checking to see if my family and I  were okay.  I thought: how nice.  I lost friends and family.  Then they went into the pitch for money.

I was horrified.

They called last night to check if I was well and see how I was doing.

I understand they have students working for no money.  But there has to be a better way.

They can suck a big bag of dicks.

they've been calling at least once a week but i always miss it and they never leave a message. i went to NYU as well and have been called for donations before, so that's my best guess.

Hahahaha....this is awesome to see so many fellow disgruntled NYU grads.   I'm still paying my loans off 18 years later. No way, NYU!

This number kept calling my mom's cell phone (no idea how they got that, it was not the number she had when I was a student there, so I definitely did not put it on any forms). No voicemails. She finally picked up, and they asked for me, and referenced a prior address (also not a home address I had during NYU days). She asked for the guy's name and extension. He wouldn't give it to her and said that he would stop calling. She didn't give any personal information. VERY SHADY. I might just call NYU and see what I can find out, but they'll probably just deny everything.

To all of you complaining about your NYU student loan debt:

1. Who forced you to go to an expensive school? There are plenty of wonderful alternatives--at a fraction of the cost. You're a grownup. Take responsibility for your choices.

2. Keeping an operation like NYU running costs a staggering amount of money. Tuition covers maybe half of it. You might not realize it, but alumni donations covered some of your costs. Be stingy if you want, or cough up $25 to help current students.

Shouldn't student calling on behalf of the school present himself/herself professionally by stating his/her name and the school they are representing?  I would suggest offering a brief training or providing a script for student.

I never answer because I don't want to listen to a fundraising pitch but the cause is legit.  Some NYU students earn money at the call center and thats a good thing.  Caller ID is a great time saver.

For those like me who were able to attend NYU because of generous aid, it is nice to give back a little so other kids will have a chance at a good education.

Yes its NYU. I'm pretty sure its students calling to ask for alumni donations. They called me last year over in the fall. I guess it's that time again.

Google NYU2031.  President Sexton is planning a $5 billion expansion plan built on the backs of student debt.  Do not give money to this administration until it halts its plans.

That's a bunch of crap....I keep getting calls everyday around 6 pm central time. I know no one in New York or
have I ever been to New York or the university. I live in Texas and I have not left Texas in many years and I don't go north I go west when I do. So there......I wish they would quite using my minutes.

You were poor and they both got scholarships?   How much did the scholarships pay?   NYU has one of the poorest financial aid systems out of all universities.  That's why its student debt amount is one of the highest in the nation.   The University spends all of its money on growth and real estate and not on helping students.   Unless you are from a very desired ethnic group, good luck getting any substantial amount of money.

If NYU can afford a $5+ billion expansion plan (google NYU 2031 Plan), then why do they need to keep calling us alumni asking for money?  NYU is already charging $40K for tuition alone on 50,000 students.  

Your money will only go funding more growth.  It's not like giving money will decrease tuition for future students.  It actually may increase it because you are justifying their $5 billion+ expansion plan.

I feel sorry for the person calling because I could not make a donation at the time and I had to lie that it was the wrong number...

No I got an A in every class.  Maybe you should consider sending your kids somewhere where they won't be taught how to act like spoiled a***oles.  Or maybe they got that from their parents?
