My caregiver received two automatic dialer calls from said number two days in a roll requesting for me by name.  When the number is dialed, one can tell the number changes ring tones and is forwarded to another number.  Today I called the number, and a person by the name of Mike answered the telephone.  He claimed he was a Manger with Northeast Credit Bureau out of Buffalo, New York.  He disclosed he was a collection agency.  He gave me this address:  Northeast Credit Bureau, P.O. Box 256, Buffalo, NY 14220.  Their fax number is:  866-835-8583.  He was calling about an account which was beyond the statute of limitations in my state.  Based on the conversation, I knew the collection agency is what is known as a bottom feeder.  In checking, I noticed the collection agency was not licensed in my state to conduct business.  Therefore, they had no business calling my caregiver.  Chances are the account they are calling about is beyond the statute of limitations in your state.  Therefore, one would not want to pay one dime on the alleged account because it would re-age the account.  Request debt validation as well as a copy of the contract bearing your signature and copy of statements from the original creditor showing the alleged date of default.  If a business account, request a copy of the written guarantee from the original creditor.  They may argue that your social security number is on the account.  A collection agency can secure one's social security number from numerous public records and fraudulently place it on an account.  Be aware many collection agencies like to manufacture evidence.  Do not trust them.  Disclaimer:  This is for informational purposes only and not to be deemed as legal advice in any manner.

Automated calls without a message or a message about a "legal matter".  I have no outstanding "legal matter". Very annoying

Caller I'D shows "11111" and voicemail has the start of chatter and disconnects. On call back there is no answer. The just keeps ringing.
