These people are terrorists, they will call and as soon as you pick up, they hang up. Any information on how to get them to stop would be great.

Just asking for transfer to the "Owner" without having owner's name.
Rude attitude, unfriendly, totally looking down us with using the word of "Police".

California PAL is well known for their terrible behavior a few years back.  They set auto dialers to call everybody or almost everybody in some of the Area Codes/Prefixes.  But EVERY call was a hangup call, there wasn't even a staffer there to attempt to talk to the party being called.  Why do this?  They know that a large number of people have caller ID.  After receiving many hang-up calls they would call back to find out what all the calls were about.  Then the caller (originally the one called) would find themselves on an automated system to take their donation.
Those running the org lied and claimed they didn't know what was going on when the complaints came in.
Wonder if they are up to their old tricks.
In any case check them out at charitynavigator.com and note their ZERO start rating.  That pretty much says it all.

Not sure it'll work (although it's still worth a try). They just called me (again!) and I told them I'm on the do no call registry. They told me it doesn't apply to them because they're a charity.

However, for anyone who's interested, their main office number (toll free) is: (800) 622-5725

If everyone called their main office each time they got an unwanted call from their telemarketing wing and complained it might make them appreciate their victims' situation. It would probably clog up their office phone line though.

I just got the call today, did not answer the phone but I could hear noise in the background on my voice mail and they did not leave a message. There is no way they are on the up and up.I also have blocking and they should not be calling. You could turn these people in threw the block list #. I suggest everybody do this .You may even need to update your phone again on the no call list.

This is not a police sanctioned, or even approved organization.  What they did is name their business to make it sound like they're doing this for the police, but they're not.  Its a scam organization - just hang up on them - its what I do!

They called our phone tonight (around 6 PM) from the 213 number.  Guy said his name was Rashad.  He asked for me by my first name and my wife asked who he was.  The caller ID said CALPAL.

I checked my caller ID and they've called  3-4 times this week. Once from another numner: (310) 862-9093. I've asked them not to call & remove me from their list, but apparently they have not. I'm on the do not call list - what more can I do? They are looking for donations as someone mentioned in another post.

I have NO idea who these people are but they call here all of the time. I answered the phone once and there was no one there. I checked out the caller ID 213-232-2381 CALPAL on the internet and there is no record of them, just s a bunch of data-less entries of people that were contacted by them. I even checked with the California State Business Portal and there is no record of "CALPAL". I just get the feeling that these people are very unfriendly. Why would they call over and over again and NOT say anything unless they're verifying our active phone line (unlisted) and selling our phone numbers to telemarketing jerks.

California PAL does provide programs "for the kids" but their efficiency on donations is so bad that I have to say don't give to them, not enough money will go to help the kids.  Check them out at Charity Navigator ...

http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=5797
Zero Stars !!!  the worst possible rating.  Also, people who give to them get their name and phone number put on a suckers list that gets passed around.

Find an efficiently run charity, and never never give to anybody who calls on the phone.  If you do ... You'll be sorry!!

You can find out about CALPAL (California Police aActivities LEague) at the Charity Navigator site: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=5797.

They call to solicit money.  I paid up once when we first moved here and have been called periodically since, most recently yesterday from the 213-232-2381 number.

NEVER provide any information of any type to ANYONE that calls you.  If you want to make a donation to an organization do so through your own activities.
