I just rec'd a call from these people, VERY MIDDLE EASTERN accent, saying that I was approved for a $5000 government grant and all I have to do is make a $150 donation.  When I asked to whom the donation was to, she sais it was to "WESTERN UNION" and then her "boy" would deliever the check directly to my front door. (They are in CA, I am in Virginia, I somehow do not believe that) I asked the name of the company and all she would say is "the US governent grant dept".  I hung up!!
PLEASE dont EVER EVER send someone money no matter HOW legit it looks. they are getting good at this.

I just got the scammers on my phone just about like 15 mins ago. I don't fall for it. They said that I got a government load for I don't know too think of an accent. They didn't even get to talk to me. My husband took the phone call for me as I listened in. I just don't like talking on the phone. I had a bad feeling about her. We blocked the number. I'm sorry that some of you guys were scammed out of your money. Just don't give out your info to anyone. If you're not buying things from somewhere that is trusted (A.K.A. Amazon, or Barnes and Noble) or paying a bill don't give out your money. Common sense guys, common sense...

Are you saying your bank referred you to these scamming criminals?  I find that hard to believe.  Please clarify.

My husband got in contact with these people through our bank.  They promised a 1,000 check if first we sent $159,  Then because of some complication we needed to send an additional $226.  Then they said the money could not be deposited due to some glitch at our bank.  So we needed to send them an additional $200 for them to dispatch a Fed ex courier with the check.  But wouldn't until we sent the additional money.  

they call people and scam them out of money. they called my last year and got some of my Christmas money in the amount of $550.00. these are the number they are calling from: 213-260-4070, 781-952-4606, and 206-855-3292. This year they have a woman calling people. I told her as a mother like I know she is she should be ashame of herself taking money from families.

This guy named Ashley called me offering me a $1,000 loan but wanted me to send him money through Money Pak for various amounts he said was necessary to approve the loan and that I will get this money back. IT'S A SCAM DON'T GO FOR IT!!!!!
