They called my work phone number and I told them they had the wrong number and they call back 10 times after I hung up

Got a phone call this afternoon on my cell, I work the overnights but answered because I thought it was my job.  Didn't look at the caller id, man with a real thick accent tried to get me to verify my personal information.  I told him that I wouldn't until I knew what this was about, he told me that it was for a payday loan and his client had filed suit in court for the amount of $8,000. But they would be happy with the amount of $600 which they claim was the original amount loaned to me.  I told him I have no idea what he was talking about, they only thing he said was, "I'm trying to download the affidvait."  Well, if your a real law firm, shouldn't you have the hard copy in front of you?  I was then transferred to another person by the name of James Perker who tried to get me to verify more information.  It frustrated both of them when I refused, he told me that a sheriff was on the way to my house, I told him that I will be calling my attorney, I also informed him it is illegal to say you are going to take legal action against someone and not do it.  I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General in Illinois as well as with the FTC, if they call me again I call the police.

forgot to mention, file with the FTC...  Ignore the calls, inform your manager and people you work with that answer the phones of this scam.  I did!  It is not a real call, I remember applying for a loan and after  it went in I realized it was a bogus site.  My name was put in wrong and this is what the person from this number called me.  So proof that what ever he claims I owe is a scam!

got a call from this number today, not the first time ive got one of these calls!   I don't care any more, they can bite me..  Don't freak out, you prob applied for a loan at some time and that is how they got there information.  If I owed them money they would send it to me in writing.     Get MR NUMBER application on your phone, you can block unknown calls to go straight to your voicemail.

Keep getting calls from ths woman, at a so called attorney's office,  with a very thick accent telling me I am getting sued for a payday loan I have never gotten. After finally calling this woman, and having her literally screaming at me that I will be going to court/garnished wages if I didn't not *comply* with them and  send them noney.  I DO NOT owe them, or any of these people anything. This is fake and a fraud happeneing here. Not to mention.... how in the hell did they get my phone number?!

got call threateing me and family for supposed loan they would not tell me who they were with or give any copies of paper work until payed  they called my work place and cussed them and threatened them also   . they called police and filed a report against them for harresment  and threats

I got a call from this number, didn't' say why. Threaten me said they had my name and social number to call back or I was in serious trouble. I save it to my cell phone and if it continues will take action against them. It was a foreign man and didn't understand a word from him.

i have the same problem with them calling me too saying that i took out a payday loan back in nov 2011 when i know that i didnt they are a fake and are wanting money dont give them any information period

same incident happened to me. The same claimed about I owed the Patday Loan company. I asked for her name and information and repeated her number back to her. I told her I will have someone contact her back and call local sheriff station to report harasing call with her number. check the number with telephone number search company and looked number up online. the number happened to be the match to scam caller.

I received a call from this number and I asked who was calling and they hung up on me..Why do these people do this?? I do not have any payday loans out. They calles at 840am monday.

They are getting short on American Names. Lisa Williams was the one I talked to yesterday, but Sandra Williams (who sounded the same) has called me in the past saying they worked for IC3.

They have a ton of phone numbers, and all sorts of scams to scare people into giving them money.

OK SO THE SCAMMERS STRIKE AGAIN!
So they called me at 6:14 PM, and I pose as my brother "Chris". (I don't have a brother Chris) And Ironically they were giving information that they normally wouldn't release about someone else's case.
So I, as Chris, Played the good brother roll to say I would help him, and let me check my account.
I call back, as myself this time, who is supposedly sitting in jail, and start with "Ok, so I have no more loans ma'am, how is this even possible." just as funny she was as confused as I was. Then I put my "Attorney" on the line (I don't have one of those either) and she refused to speak without a Bar Number.
After "I" got the phone back, I made a statement that "You guys say you are out of San Diego but you have a Los Angeles Area Code, WTF?" and she rambled on about Having that right to change her number. I kept her going for about 9 and a half minutes total, she was getting frustrated and told me to call her when I am ready to resolve this issue. I know its a scam and for once I answered their call to toy with them. THAT IS HOW TO BEAT THEM. Build them up like you may pay, call back and f**k with them for a bit, and see how it plays out. NOTE: If you decide to call them  back, *67 your phone first so the ID is blocked.

I received the same phone call from them aswell, first thier was a guy speaking about a loan.. then he handed the phone to a lady who claims her name is LISA WILLIAMS from some law firm.. and on the phone call sounds like their was a 2 second delay...they even called on my WORK PHONE.  whats really strange is that they knew what bank i was with.. an my personal email address, ive called the bank an everything they said it was a SCAM. and as for the lawfirm.. a complete FAKE.

I received same call from these people saying that they were gonna take me to court as well if I did not pay them. I called the payday loan place and they sad it was a scam as well. Caller said his name was Micheal Brow and called from 213-289-3741 he also had a thick accent and was very rude.

For some time now I have received these calls claiming that I owe money for a payday advance.  They threatend me to the point that I called my local police department as they gave me the name to a Detective.  They told me it was fraudulent.  The scam artist call from a Boston Landline but today they called me from a Los Angeles number.  The woman spoke with a thick accent and it sounded as she was sitting in a cafe'.  I screamed at the woman and told her she was a scam and leave me alone.  She continued threatning me saying she woud see me in court.  I know she is fake, scammer.  DO NOT FALL FOR THEM!  They want you to send them money via Western Union/money Gram to avoid court.

A representative from Marshall & Fulman Attorneys called me several times on 4/9/2012, I am not sure about the name of the law firm as the person I spoke to had an accent. They claimed that since I used a payday loan service that I needed to pay a restitution amount of $487 to settle additional interest that accrues on payday loans. I contacted the payday loan companies directly and they were unfamiliar with this lawsuit/notion.
