They got the wrong number but these are most likely debt collectors who try to collect debt from places like Smile Care and others who claim you owe them money for service rendered.  They may have a claim but it is usually due to a mistake at the company they represent and they are trying to get money for a mistake an employee made.

They called and asked for someone who we know but does not live here.  Very strange that they would ask and needs to reported as a strange and uncomfortable call.  How did they get this persons name?

received a call from them and when we put them on speaker phone they hung up with out giving any details of why they called.  We tried calling them back and they do not answer or they hang up the phone.

The same thing happened to me and I have tried calling it back but it always comes up as an error.

Well guys...I am pretty wierded out by this.  I got a call from this number and missed it this morning.  Thought it was from a potential customer....looked back into my phone log and found that thursday morning at 11am I spoke to this number for 11 minutes!  Have no idea who it was, but clearly someone that I engaged with for 10 minutes called from what appeared to be this number!  I tried to call back and I'm getting circuit busy messages...After a moments pondering...this could be collections call from Clearwire, or Charles Schwab...both companies I have talked to recently but I am unsure if it is either of them!

Got a call from this number three times, they left no message.  Called back, got a message that the circuits were busy.
