This is a scam.  Do not spend any time with them on the phone - just hang up or tell them they have the wrong number.  Do not provide them with any info.  You may choose to moitor your credit reports closely as they appear to have social security numbers.

Update - My workplace helped me out by saying I was terminated.  Cause this guy was serious.  I didn't pay him 10k so sure think monday morning he called my work non stop.  They just kept telling him I was fired and to stop calling.  He kept calling.  Then they would put him on hold everytime and he gave up.  BUT GET THIS.  These guys seem to have our socials security numbers.  If you ask them they will recite it.  This is now a federal crime.  I have contact on this with the FBI.  I posted on facebook all there numbers and I had hundreds of people calling them and harrassing them.  Well now if you call they don't answer.  It has been a couple weeks.  This is unusual for them.  Maybe I finally got them.  They messed with the wrong girl!!!!!!

They said the exact words to me. These people actually called me this morning. First said they were officers with the State Investigation. They used common Ameican names such as Officer Shawn Watson and some other one who also said he was an officer. The strong indian or arabic accents simply does not match the names, I'm sorry. They stated I pay money or I would be in trouble. It makes me feel better that others have been through this. I never even borrowed money I just filled out the application but never went through with it. I just think it's crap and these horrible people should be investigated.

I have been receiving calls at my job from 213-330-2688 and he said his name is Heri Macum and he is with "Investigation Bureau" and said it was a legal court matter and very urgent that I call him. He is asking for my Social Security # and such. I googled the number and found this page. Thankfully, my co-workers won't let him talk to me cause it seemed fishy to them too. What can we do to catch this guy?

They won't stop. You can threaten them with legal action.....You can tell them you will not ever send them a dime. They will not stop. I had to change my work and cell phone numbers. These people are criminals. They don't care if they are causing you a problem a work by all of these calls. They will continue to call. File a police report and show it to your employer. At least they can then see that this is not a legitimate company.

I received calls the past two days and shows up as a 00000000 number and they leave a call back number. They called my work, after calling them back, I made some mistakes but corrected them....they all had regular american names though were indian and couldnt understandt them. I called them back with my officer on my job and they were scared and made excuses and hung up, he told me that if a creditor or anyone was after you for money they would always send a legal notice to your residence first and be ample amount of time.....they wanted me to fax all my information to a number with my credit card....when I asked questions they would continue to threaten me and ask if I wanted to pay up to $60 k in legal fees...total scam, I fell for it, but corrected it by notifing my bank and authorities...

I have recieved MANY calls from this number and 416-971-2222 as well. I have gotten calls on my job and on my cell phone.  The men have called me has had foreign accents and get really beligerant when I ask them to repeat their names, the company they work for, or the online payday loan company that has hired them.  On the call I got today, I recorded it and made them aware of it as they said they were recording me. I also had them on speaker phone so my boss could here as well as two of my co-workers.  I ask to have some type of proof emailed or faxed to me. The caller proceeded to curse me and get loud. He also  called me out of my name numerous times.  I have called my regional FBI office. So hopefully we can put a stop to this harrasement.  The names that I was given during these calls were Mike Davis, Shawn Watson of the Investigation Bureau of California and Office Mark Thomas.  The company they said are "representing" is CASH ADVANCE, an online payday cash advance company. I ahve no knowledge of this company.

Message from "Office Shawn Watson with the state investigation department. That they have received an affidavit against my name and SSN, that my name and SSN are under investigation, if I don't call back the very minute I get the message they will have to take action and file charges. Then he says to have a blessed day. Okay really? What government official says have a blessed day? Smart that I am, I googled the number he called from and the number he told me to call back, both come up on this website with a ton of complaints. Called my cell carrier to change my #, she asked me for the number that was calling me so she could block it from my account, and told me I was the 4th person to call her TODAY complaining about the same number!

I think most cash advance sites have box to click about sharing your information.  Do not check it!
I got a message from a ?Mr. Smith? with a very bad accent.  I called him back a few hours later from a different line from work.  He picked up and I asked him to confirm the number I dialed.  He said, ?Who you??  I said, ?Never mind who I am.  You left me a strange voice mail and I don?t want you calling me again.?  I then said, ?How about I turn your number over to the San Bernardino Sherriff?s Department and they can call you??  He hung up.  Then about an hour later I got a call on my cell phone.  I checked the area code and it said 214 instead of 213.  I answered and he asked for me by name.  I recognized his voice immediately.  I told him, ?I just called you about an hour ago and told you not to call me anymore.  He was puzzled and didn?t know what to say.  I reminded him about the San Bernardino Sherriff?s Department and he quickly hung up.  Some ?state investigation? huh?  I am hoping he took me off his list of people to call.

I received a call as well.  I called from a line that was not my desk phone and the guy that answered was chomping on food.  I asked him if he could verify the number I just called and his response was, "who you?"  He sounded more Asian than Indian.  I said, "Is this Mr. Smith?" and he said yeah.  Then he asked "who you?"  I said, "Never mind who I am.  You left me a very stange voice mail today.  So how about I have the San Bernardino Sherrif's Department call you..........?"  He hung up before I could finish.

Got a call from this number this morning three times showing on caller ID LA Daily Journal. A Mr. Mark Dawson with the California Highway Patrol badge number 186426 said I have a case with State Investigations. I was going to be arrested because I owed some kind of payday loan debt and they were going to show up at my job to arrest me. They had the last four digits of my social security number, my street address, my employer information, and my old bank info. This bank merged last year and the account was not active anymore. He threatened to garnish my wages for a payday loan debt. I do not have any payday loan debts outstanding. I reminded him that if this was a legitimate debt, turn it into my county prosecutor. I told him I'm running a Google search and a local search on my name or legitamite debts every week. I told him if he call my home again, I would file harrassement charges on them because they are not participating in the standards of the Fair Debt Collection Act of 1997. First of all, there is no debt. Second of all, these morons have really thick Indian accents telling me they are working in California as police officers. Third, they do not even understand the American legal system and are making up false legal authority to scare people. I'm not a stupid. I work everyday with insurance company representatives who are outsourced overseas to Indian. These idiots will do anything to make a buck, its not real and it figures this would be going on in this economy. DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD FROM THIS IDIOT'S MOUTH!

Hmmmm....
I haven't used Ameriloan. Unfortunately, when I went to look at the website I read these passages in the "Privacy Policy."

"This Website contains links to other sites and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites."

"Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk."

I'm sure the sites I used have similar language. It's really discouraging. File that report as soon as you can. Good luck.

Hydee....You really need to file a police report as soon as possible. Obviously, you are a victim of extortion with the $10k threat. By filing the report, you will be able to accomplish two things. First of all, if anything suspect with your SSN happens, you have a record of the report that you can use to dispute it with the credit bureau if necessary. Secondly, by filing a report, you have documentation you can show to your employer that indicates this is indeed a criminal act and not a "bill collector." I would have to think your employer would be more sypathetic if you show them a copy of the report.
I made the mistake of doing an online loan too. I was in a jam with bills after I took a significant pay cut. You are absolutely correct in your statement that they are "horrid." In fact, the are nothing more than a legalized loan shark. Unfortunately, the pay cut had put me in such a bind that it ruined my credit. Those companies were the only ones that would loan me money to offset bills that I could not delay. All I can say now....is I wish I never would have gotten the loans, I paid much more for the loan than I should have and now my SSN is plastered on some wall office in India for all I know. No matter how bleak some things may seem, don't ever resort to these companies for help. You are better off working with the creditors.  Good luck. You are in my prayers.

Ever since I got a online loan I've been getting these calls.  The loan comany is also horrid.  They have been taking money from people over the loan amount.  Some times double.  After all my research I've realized these companies sell your info to these middle eastern "telemarketers" they get a huge comission for getting your money.  Unfortunatly they do.....and thats why they try so hard.  My work place believes they are bill collectors that I'm ignoring and so I'll be written up then fired if it continues.  The callers plan on calling my work again unless I give them 10k!

Flacco from LA.  I did call them back.  and again and again and again.  I became their stalker.  It was so fun.  They weren't expecting me to harrass them.  And he was wondering why I kept calling him.  He did offer that if I paid him 10,000 that he would stop calling my job.  I started to give him a fake credit card number and he was so excited.  It was rather sick.  I hope they will get found sooner then later, it is very scary that he has my social security number

I can tell you exactly what site gave them my info.  Ameriloan.  Now they have my social security number and they call over and over again.  They started to call my work place so much that I got written up for it.  They know they aren't suppose to call and when I finally talked to them and asked them to stop calling my work, well they asked for 10,000 in order to stop calling.  By the end of call he even asked me for oral sex! but the worst part was he has my social security number.....OMG.....I'm going to file a police report. I've already notified the fedral trade commision, and I'll change my phone number. But they also have my address. thats scary!!!!!

The have my SSN too. I went to the police about this on Wednesday. They advised me to file a report so you have documentation in case you find that they have been using your SSN illegally. This will at least help you facilitate any issues that may arise with your credit bureau. Also, it probably makes sense to keep an eye on your credit report and immediately report anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, other than that, there's not much either of us can do at this point. I am just as annoyed as you. Whatever website allowed access of our information to these criminals needs to be held accountable. It's really unsettling to know someone else has your private information. I just keep praying they get what's coming to them. Take care and good luck.
