Received message from caller ID 213 789-879 *this is the number on caller ID, I did not drop a number.  Said they were from Microsoft Windows, filipino accent.  Told them I had received not less than 12 calls and to delete my number from their database.  Asked to speak to a supervisor, "James" came on the line , when I repeated my story he said "Oh My God" about 5 times and hung up.  SO TIRED OF THESE CALLS!

I got a call from this number 333-586-2175 claiming to be a relative. from mexico city just a scam .

My mom recieved the same call she is elderly they where in her computer for over 2 hours.  She also gave them her SS#.  She is contacting the FBI tomorrow she made a police report today!  Praying on the elderly!  They tried to charge on her charge card but the charge card people stopped it and said it might be a scam!  Thank God!

these bloody scamsters call after every 2-3 days and asks for technical help, want to just say p****off to them. talk with heavy accent, not english surely. they need to have a nice thrashing.

Yesterday I received scam calls from other numbers on this site.  Today it's 213-333-3206.  I screen all calls.

got a call from 213-333-3206. didn't answer.  no message.  searched online and now I know this is a scammer.

Well, I got a call from 00 213 3333206, they said like all the others, that they were calling from Microsoft, in bad English, sounded like from India.
I'm based in Sweden, by the way.
I don't think they are calling from within the US. Probably from India and don't care about your laws, US laws don't apply to them.
This country code is Algeria, when you're in Sweden.
Do not click on any links they give you, not even for "identifying" your computer.
Microsoft have people in most country's, if they contact me, they probably talk Swedish, not bad Indian English with an caller ID from Algeria.
And probably answer some questions on which computer it is, which hardware etc.
They became angry with all my question and I got to talk with some boss, he called me stupid. Then I have had my fun and hung up.

I'm based in Sweden, by the way. As I'm maintaining a couple of networks and have been in contact with Microsoft a couple of times, it was pretty easy to say that they weren't from Microsoft. So I had to test them a little.
They claimed that my computer sent them error messages.
When I asked them which computer, and what hardware. That with windows, yeah right.
I use Linux and Mac. I some windows computers too.
I provoked quite good, with several questions, also tried to get the name of the malicious software that supposed to be on the windows computer.
They tried to get me to walk to a computer for some sort of ID nr.
When I asked if he thought I was stupid, I got to talk with some boss.
He was completely frustrated, wouldn't listen or answer questions, just called me stupid.
Then I hung up.

I had this call tonight.  I was having problems with my computer and thought it was legitimate.  BUT, when it came to paying for a years? worth of computer protection they tried to get me to pay form 3-4 years, I was able to buffalo the cc number and codes so it did not work.  The names I got were Mark (the tech guy who was on my computer) and his phone number is 415-830-3699 and the other was Andy Marshall (supervisor) which I thought was odd.  The phone number on the caller ID is 213-333-3206 and the name came up as MGL BPO.

yes there is a company MGL but their Calif office numbers are NOT in 213 area code which is  LA they are in the Bay area also their name is MGL  not MGL BPO ...they have called me I never answer they called for awhile then stopped and have started to call again.

I got a call from this number too. But when I picked up, I couldn't hear anyone talking over the phone. So I just repeatedly say "hello", and after a seconds, they hung up on me LOL. I searched up the number and found this website. Saved myself from having to deal with a buncha scammers, all thanks to my room having terrible reception x)

We started to get these calls a couple of months ago ... I actually got sucked in and did give them access to my computer (ugh!).  There were things that didn't add up and that didn't feel right, but they kept persuading me ... then when I went to pay for their "computer support package" with a debit card, it all fell apart!  Some things that happened were that I kept being passed over to someone else, but it seemed that I was being passed between 2 guys - back and forth.  So they would get the "supervisor", and then when I challenged the price, I got the "finance department" (who miraculously was willing to give it to me for less - not likely if they were actually Microsoft!), and so on.  I was suspicious, so I kept taking screen shots and putting them into a Word file ... and they saw this.  In any case, I am glad that I didn't use a credit card!  Maybe I ought to report it to the police still, because I just got another call from them today, and it went to my answering machine, but when I looked up the number I found this page!

got the same call, a few times and ive always hung up, but the other day i stayed on the line and question him as onlt two people have this land line number, my parents and my sister because i use my mobile for all other calls, he said he could tell me who i was, so i as him and he gave me a different name, and then he kept on asking for who i was because ive change my name and i told him how the f***  did you get this number as only two people have it and next time you try scam me try and do a better job because i can see ur lies, they hung up of cause

I have gotten three calls from these guys. My guy said his name was Kevin Watson. I sais I have never heard of a Kevin Watson in Hydrabad or Mumbai. He said he is from Calcutta. If you get them to talk long enough they will want your computer name, and they will hit it from the internet. The cost of the service is $129 USD according to Kevin Watson in New York from Calcutta, Do not trust these guys. They usually hang up after I ask them for their Federal Tax ID or business. I had told him I have worked for AT&T for years. When I said the $129 sounded like a lot of money, he said I probably spend that on my boozing. I said I don't drink, it makes you slow and why would I want that. His final words were "You are piece of s***!" Other numbers they use:

The national do not call list and our nations consumer protection are a joke. The national do not call list and the consumer protection (Supposedly) fines companys for infractions but yet your tax dollars pay for their operating costs. Yet these companies are still making enough to keep operating. Also, I would like to know what they do with the all the money from the fines.

If you all want these scams and telemarketers to stop then you will have to take a stand. In otherwords you will have to contact you Jacka$$ Congressman.

Got the same call this morning. The call was breaking up so he offered to call back from a different line which showed up on my caller ID as 1-139-988-3950.

Said he was on behalf of Mircrosoft Tech Support to advise of a serious issue with my computer. He needed me to open up my computer and follow his instructions. I knew this was a scam so I asked him 1000 questions. Each time he gave me a quick answer and followed by "I need you to open your computer and follow my instructions".  

While on the phone with him I did a quick Google search and confirmed this was in fact a scam.  I told him he should be ashamed of himself, to go get an honest job. Boy did that piss him off.. he started screaming "Who the hell do you think you are to talk to me like that, Shut up, Shut up" and hung up the phone. It was quite funny!!

What isn't funny is that I am sure many people fall for this and end up having all of their personal information and credit card info stolen by these lowlifes.

No, they're not from India. They're colonists. They seize and overpower others with no remorse. Not even once, unless it was through someone or something, have you contacted me. I was standing right there.

Damn turmeric powder bandage head mf's have nothing better to do!! I feel bad for those who owns a legitimate company that fixes computers online for a living and for the longest. Because of these dumb f**** those people are probably going to lose their online business.

Just got a call from 213-333-3206 claiming the whole "your gonna crash your computer" "using microsoft windows" "sending error reports" stuff.  Told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call. Looked up the number and well you know the rest if you are reading this.

We (in Ontario) got a (long distance) call from the number today at about 4pm.
I answered. There was a long silence, after which a female voice (NO accent) said  - good bye.

Earlier today, there were two other calls with  a long silence and the same voice saying good bye  - from different numbers:

and
1.40pm - from 206-397-1126

We (in Ontario) got a phonecall from this number today (June 22, 2012) at about 4pm.

I had the same call with the same comments. It is a shame this idoit cannot
be stopped and would like to know how they use a CA telephone number as
you can hear all the noise in the background when others are calling people.
It appears they are in India as I know the language fairly well.

I just received a call from the above number with the same caller ID readout.  The accent was as described in the other posts.  He insisted that I push the "windows" button and the "r" button together, so he could show me the "error message" that Microsoft had been receiving.  I said that I was not comfortable with the call.  He said, "This is not spam!"  I said I had no way of knowing that and hung up.

Woman who called me by name told me she was calling to ask if I would help a real estate client of hers in the town I live in. Being a Realtor, I said, "Sure-just give me their name and number and I will call them." She said sure, ok, and hung up.  
I get sales calls all the time--saw MGL BPO on caller ID--BPO in Realtor-speak stands for Broker Price Opinion--so I expected a sales call.  Sales calls I get are often people trying to sell me leads---after asking me to help their client.  I was too-quick with my response, not what she expected, and probably lost her place on the script and hung up in frustration.  

When I get new streams of unsolicited calls, I blame it on the last company I did business with.  This time it was Legal Zoom and the Secretary of State of California.  Not saying either one is distrubuting my phone number, it may be a matter of public record with the state.

Caller with heavy Indian accent said he was calling about Medicare and told my wife she was entitled to receive improved Medicare coverage.  Had name and address, birthdate and is sending information about her new coverage.  What is this all about?

Please let me know when you find out..They think they're invincible as they're using internet telephony to call us and are across on the other side of the world..

I got a call from 213-333-3206 as well as 209-220-1908. Same story as the other people on here. Indian person trying to pull of a north american accent. FAIL! Says his name is David something..
I myself am Indian - And I recognize an indian accent when I hear one. I don't have an accent myself so he thought he was talking to an American. He said windows..and i said i have a MAC - He tried to ask more questions when I told him i wasnt going to tell him anything more as i didnt know who he was and hung up. He called back TWICE!! Psycho telemarketers!

Dead air call, waited about 10 seconds, then a recording said "Goodbye". I tried calling the number
back and got a recording that said "Thanks for calling, If you wish to be placed on out do not call
list, press 1." Recording just repeats. Makes me wonder.If they are legit, wouldn't they want you to
talk to one of their reps instead of just assuming you are calling back to complain about their call?

Also, they called at 5 minutes until 10pm. Isn't that also against the law?
