They call me and my dads place of buisness several times daily. Talking about my factory vehicle warranty is about to expire.I've never had a warranty. They just keep calling,I have asked several times for them to take my phone number off their list but they won't, or they hang up on me!
John 2011-06-06 20:43:03 Unknown
I don't know where they've got my number but I also gotten the message for "an expiring factory vehicle warranty" - my car is not new so it's not covered by any warranty so I know they're full of it. This is the first time that the number actually showed up - before they had it hidden...

Calls every few days. Says it's Anne with the Warranty Department. I don't own a vehicle. I spoke with a real person after staying on the line one day. I told them I didn't own a vehicle and that they had the wrong number, but they keep calling.

I have been getting calls a couple a week. They ask you to hold, I did once for 30 Minutes and it hung up on me.
I am on a do not call list and they are calling my cell phone, I don't know how they got my number.

annoying recording that says Anne from the Warranty Dept.
Author 2011-06-06 20:43:03 Unknown
This is a large scam ring that's so obvious. ALL recordings are scams [at America] duh duh duh !
We got a new phone number and they harass this line daily with a "hi this is Anne from the warranty dept." recording. I also get a "this is Dave with your credit card charges recording". [I have no credit card at all & nor have I debt.] The harassment just came along with the new phone number. Seems they are all attached to using certain phone numbers to bother someone. I am at VA state. I thought recordings were illegal!?
I think ALL of these recording might be stemming from the same source. Might even somehow be connected to the same ones from "MWI Inc." [A scam artist group from Montreal, Quebec with a HQ at Stamford, Connecticut] that phone me all the time also.

-- I also think this must be from "MWI Inc." MWI Inc. runs scams from Montreal, Quebec with additional headquarters at Stamford, Connecticut.
Especially if you get the warranty vehicle warnings along with the "associated health group" or "Premier health group" advertisements.

I would like to know what information they have on file for their callers. I received a call last week and the representative asked a few questions so I went along with everything so I could retreive some information. To my surprise when I asked what was the no. of my credit card she could not give it to me. On top of that, they stated that information would be sent to my home and only asked for my zip code. While I was constantly asking what address do they have on file for me, she repeatly said have a nice day and hung the phone up on me. I want to know if someone is using my information or if they are using it as a scam. As far as if this is from the company I will sue and ya mammy a maggot.

This is a very, very large telemarketer. Not an even tempered bunch. I got a call just now, I answered and followed the prompts. The recorded message said that my automobile warranty was about to expire. Really? I just bought the beast last week. 6 years/72,000 mi. So I get a real live telemarketer named "Justin." (They do not use their real names) Very nice in the beginning and I sweet talked the guy feigning interest. Then I told him about the recording saying my warranty was expiring and told him my car was a 10-speed bicycle. He said, "why don't you take it to a chop shop?" I replied, "I did, but your Mama was out to lunch at the no tell motel." He hung up and I had a laugh.
Then I post the number on several hackers' bulletin boards. If you still receive calls, call your cell carrier. If they will not block the calls, might be time to switch carriers.
If it is a land line they are calling, report it as harassing to the local phone company.

Vehicle warranty phishing scam. The called wanting information about my vehicle, but hung up when I asked to speak to their supervisior.

These people call me every other day. I asked the name of their company and they said it was General Warranty Services. I told them that I had already asked to be removed from the list 4 times, he said that their were "47 warranty companies out there making calls". When I asked him to elaborate, he hung up.
I looked around online and found reports that this company is a scam.
I read that if you are on the DO NOT CALL list and they call you, there is an 11,000.00 fine by the FTC so let them know and log the calls.

catch-all 2008-07-16 21:17:02 Telemarketer
I just had a lot of fun with this one. I got a call on my cell and saw the 213 area code. I don't know ANYone from Kalifornia so I assumed it was my pals with the car warranty scam. The other number they've called me with is 213-363-5155 (also listed on this site).
I waited thru the automated female voice and then pressed 1. I got some bored sounding guy and told him "I'm worried that my warranty is expiring and I really want to know how I can extend it. What plans do you have available?"
I could hear his greed as he drooled into the phone. He asked for my make & model number. I told him "Ford F-350 diesel extended cab" (I have a Honda). He asked what year, I replied "2001". THen he asked for the mileage and I replied, "170,000 but that means nothing for a diesel. And I keep it in great shape too!" Mr Bored put me on hold for a few seconds as he consulted his Mafia capo boss and then said "I'm afraid we don't offer any extended warranties for mileage that high." I replied, "But wait! Can't you make an exception? I can email you pictures!" He told me sorry and hung up. I'll keep y'all posted to see if they call back again. Maybe citing a high mileage beater like I did will take me off their list.

I don't understand why it's happening if my # is registered under DNC list. I called # back and got recorded greeting that gives you option to be "removed from their calling list" - they don't say who they are, what they do but mentions that numbers come from "purchased" phone lists. So, I attempted the instructions, but realized the recorded greeting to be looped, no use there. From now on, when I sign up for anything especially online, I am totally giving a non-working # instead of my own.
