Caller ID said "Promotions WCA". Recorded message was about getting help with back taxes owed to the IRS. Gave option to connect and option to have number removed. I hung up. I called the number directly to complain, recording answered saying the number I was calling from was not a "recognized subscriber".  I filed a complaint with donotcall.gov.

If you get a call from them, do likewise and file a complaint at donotcall.gov.

I've ironically received my "last chance" call a couple of times.  The only people dopier than the clowns making these calls are the saps who buy into it.  If you fall for this BS you DESERVE to have your identity stolen!

When I received a call from this number, 213-458-6218, I couldn't get to the phone fast enough and missed the call.  I called it right back, but found it wasn't a working number.  Since my Caller ID said it was a "wireless caller," I was curious and ran to Google it.  I found a company name associated with the number and called the number.  I did this from home and didn't keep the number.  Looking today, I can't find the company name or the phone number to share it here.  I was surprised to get an answer when I rang the number, but I did.  The girl who answered said this (upon answering): "Card Services, may I ask your name?"  Before I answered, I said, "Sure, but first may I ask yours?"  Again, I fully expected that she would hang up on me, but she didn't.  She said her name was Regina and asked how I got the number I had just dialed.  I told her I had just missed their earlier phone call and I was SO interested in lowering my credit card rates (!!!) that I ran avidly to the internet to find out how to call them back.  She didn't detect the sarcasm in my tone, and therefore thanked me for being so diligent, although she didn't use the word "diligent" since I'm certain the word "diligent" wasn't REALLY in Regina's vocabulary.  Since she seemed so excited to have a "live one" on the phone, I decided to play along to see where it would take us.  I mostly did it because I loved the idea of wasting her time as she had just wasted mine (or as I had allowed her to do).  She said in order to help me, all she needed was a bit of personal information.  She asked me what my total line of credit was for all my credit cards.  I said probably $60,000.  (Sorry Regina, that was a lie.)  Then she asked me how much I owed on all my cards.  I said probably $30,000.  (Oopsie, sorry Regina, yet another lie.)  She was VERY excited to announce that she could definitely help me!  All I had to do was provide my credit card information to her, including card and bank names, actual account numbers, and most recent account balances.  I told her I would gladly do that if she could help me, but needed to run pull the information together.  I asked her if she would mind "holding" the line for a few minutes and she said she would be MORE than happy to.  And trust me, she did, indeed, sound MORE than happy.  Then I said, "On second thought, instead of holding, would you be able to just ring me back at my home in about 10 minutes?  Just give me enough time to go grab my folder with all my financial information in it?"  To quote Regina, that would be "fantastic!"  So I gave her this number to call me back:  213-458-6218.  She even repeated it back to me after she wrote it down without making the connection.  I hope she was as annoyed with her own crappy fake number as I was with this stupid scam.

Maybe he made typographical errors on purpose to make himself "appear" dim.  Maybe he THEN posted the cell number of his arch enemy and not his own!  Maybe he's really a mastermind and has fooled even you.  Wouldn't that be brilliant?

To everyone who has been receiving these scam calls:

Are you all cell phone customers of AT&T?

I have recently switched from Verizon (and never received these calls) to now AT&T (currently bombarded with these calls)...  Coincidence???  Or did they get their hands on a list???

Because you have the kind of software seen only in movies that can trace a phone call in 10 seconds, and voice recognition software that will immediately identify the individual you are speaking to. This software will provide you with their:

Name
Work address
Home address
Work phone
Home phone
Social security number
Mothers' maiden name
ALL credit card numbers/expiration dates/security codes
Every user name/password they have for EVERYTHING
A list of all their fears

Get real, there's not a whole lot you can do. Blowing hot air just makes you look stupid.

Also: great job posting your phone number on the internet; telemarketers probably frequent sites like this to look for idiots just like you.

One last thing: You certainly will not "have all there money" because it's spelled "their'... Not even "if there real or not", Which I assure you, they are (or as someone who is NOT inbred would say: "they're")

Have a nice day, jack***...

Some dude called "Doug" called my husband's phone and said that I was selected to reduce my interest rate due to good credit score. He asked me which credit card is my highest credit card. After I told him, he said that they couldn't help with that credit card.

I asked where he was calling from again and he said "Card Services". I asked for his number so I can call him back. Then that jerk hung up on me!!!!

IT'S A SCAM!!!!!

The caller from 213-458-6218 claims this is my "last chance to lower my rates on a credit card" I was told this is my last chance to lower my credit card rates and have been sent many notices.  I pressed 1 to talk to someone to ask them where they had been sending these notices and also to be removed from the list.  They hung up on me.
They are also calling my company phone.

Literally just got off the phone with "Linda" from this number and rudely dismissed when I said my credit card had paid off for eight months now. When I told her that I would like them to remove me from whatever pseudo-generated list they claimed to have my number from she said, pointedly, that she did not have to. Kind of shocked me. I just hung up and reported the number, but, honestly I am realizing that doesn't help because seriously, as I was writing this critique, they called my mobile two more times.

How did they get my number?  I did get a HELOC from a local bank last month, and shortly after I get these calls and some junk mail trying to look official but totally fake.  They new the exact amount of the HELOC and the exact date we closed.  Has anyone experienced a similar pattern?
