I can understand collecting from someone who actually has the debt, but calling people who owe nothing is wrong, and annoying. I have been ignoring the calls, because I cannot see how they could do anything without my address, etc., since they are obviously calling my number, which apparently belonged to someone else who has debt, or they are just lying to make me think they will collect. It is amazing to me the length people will go to in order to get ahead in the game of money. Honesty and hard work will always be the best way to get ahead in life, not by lying and cheating.

I, too, asked them to remove my name from their list, stating the person they are trying to reach is not at my number. They said they would remove it. That has been months ago, and the calls still come, just not as often. It is very frustrating, because I have Net10, and pay for my minutes, including the voicemails they leave. It seems to me that people should find something better to do with their time than harass others. Obviously they aren't very educated if that is all they can manage to do with their time. I for one am busy, and don't have time for messages such as theirs.

I have recvd several calls from this company. Its for a debt. I ask who the original creditor was and he refused to give me the name, He said it was for American Recovery Services that i have a loan through them . I KNOW i dont have a loan through them and continued to ask who the original creditor was. I ask for documents showing i actually took out this loan and he would only provide them if i gave him my credit card number. What can i do ? If its my debt ill pay it but im not going to give him my credit card number over the phone for something they wont tell me who it came from.

I received a call on May 5th and 6th between 4-5pm in two days from Martin unknown of last name. He did not specify where he was calling from nor the company, but left second harassing message in two days concerning legal matter in regards to my ssn and that he must hear from me by 5pm today. He talks very fast. I am so tired of this. I am ready to sue these guys, but how can I.

I have just received the identical phone call as is reported here by each of you. Unfortunately for the caller, I am a Federal Agent. I have captured the foreign phone number and also have the the audio saved and filed for follow-up. I will make every effort to see this information gets into the right hands for further action. "Mr. Abraham" was very rude to me when I called 213-478-0041.  I asked to be taken off his calling list and he said "you cannot call and talk this way -  this is an attorney's office - you cannot request that - we are trying to help you - you cannot talk to me this way!".  All I had asked was to be taken off the calling list.  Obviously, a scam  ---- SO ANNOYING!!!!!

found this information out for those of you wondering.  just got a call myself from Mr. Abraham.  whether legit or not, he has zero ethics and will use any means he likes to attempt to get whatever info out of you he can.  I would stick with what you are doing - don't respond, don't return the call, don't give him any information.  Whatever info he says he has is most likely on something that is either so old it doesn't matter anymore, been written off by the company who is no longer interested in dealing with it, or he is attempting to push himself off as someone to be feared when in reality, he has no idea who you are until he gets you on the phone and starts getting info from you.

Recently there was a theft in Texas, I received multipe emails from various companies stating that emails are sent using this 3rd party.  this particular 3rd party had millions of pieces of data and assured me that my information was safe, despite having been robbed of it - and I started getting calls from Mr. Abraham within about a week of this notification.  Somebody break out the tartar sauce..i smell something fishy indeed.  Bottom line - do what I do.  Save the number on your cell, set the ring tone to silent and then forget about it.  There's enough stress in your life without some idiot who thinks he's important adding to it.

I received a call from Mr. Abraham two days ago about a legal matter against my ssn#. It sounds like a recording. Then I received again today 4/19. 2011. Why do these companies or whatever they are keep harrassing people. This is a bunch of bull crap.

Ha! I had the same voice mail today.  I have had many of these types of harassing phone calls over the past 6-8 months.  Every time I report them to the FCC and have even filed police reports.  But they just keep re-surfacing using different phone #'s.

I got those EXACT words in the voicemail... Those calls arent legal. But they get away with it because a lot of the times they are calling from a foreign country. And because we dont report the numbers to the BBB... I dont worry about these calls. Just press#7 and DELETE.

Yup, a "Mr. Abraham," called me today aswell... He did sound like a foreigner!. He didnt even say whom he was calling, just that it was a legal matter on my social security... I took he nuber down, as I do with all the other numbers that call me, and googled it.... Knew it was some bogus crap about a legal matter! Thanks for the post!

I just recently  received a phone call from Mr .  Abraham saying that he works in the law offices of Mark Nitcher. He was  very aggressive in saying that this  legal matter had to do with my ssn and that I should call him back before 5 pm. He also said that if I he would not hear from me, that he was going to take it into a legal matter. He was very upset and very harrassing. obviously, no lawyer is going to call you out of the blue in an upset tone and harrasse you about your ssn. Please, use your common sense, dont give anyone your  personal information. I will report this man to the FTC right now!

same dealio:  Mr. Abraham from Attorney Marc Nicter's office, threatening legal matter.  Never referenced my name but what bothered me was that he said it had to do with my "social security number".  Just hoping he doesn't actually have it.  Btw, the reason I didn't pick up is my phone tells me from where regionally someone is calling and this came up as India but he left the CA number as the return call.

I recieved a call from Mr. Abraham  yesterday at 5:47pm and said that if I didn't call back by 5pm (how funny is that) that legal actions would be taken.  Scam!!!! Scam!!!! Scam!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from the # 911203391000. I didn't answer. Googled that # it's from India. Mr. Abraham left a message saying he was from lawyer Mark Nichter's office. Told me to call 2134780041. I called the # just to see what it was. All I got was a dead line. No ringing and no ever picked up. Smells like yet another scam.

Recieved this call today from Abraham. Number was 213-478-0041 However, when they called it showed up on my phone as 911-203-391000 this is a scam right or who is the collector? BEWARE DONT CALL THEM!!!!

Just the latest scam they are running.  99% of the time they are just trying to steal from you.  Dont give them any info.  It is fun to call back and mess with them though.  Doing that right now.

I just got a call from them saying exactly the same thing but they were collecting for cash advance and that legal action was going to be taken against me I told them go ahead and try they won't get a dime out of me as I never recieved a cash advance and have proof of it.  They also told me they were from Brookly, NY!!!!  Total Scam!

Keep getting calls from a Mr. Abraham threatening with legal problems.  He doesn't say who the message is for.  The number doesn't even come up on caller id.  This is the number he says to call back before 5 to prevent any legal matters.  I looked up in white pages reverse look up and the number is unpublished.  I even looked up Mark Nichter the supposed lawyer in Los Angeles, CA.  No one by that name even exists there.  I would think if this is a real law office, they would at least have something posted in white pages or yellow pages.  This guy calls at least 3 times every day and leaves the same message.  Obviously a scam.

I had the same thing happen.  I called and was on hold w/ some calliope music in the background sounds like a scam for sure the name Abraham and #213-478-0041 were the same..

I got the same call.  It's a scam.  They couldn't tell me my name or the last four digits of my social.  Report them to the FTC via https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.  I did.

I also just got a call from this # when I called back it went to a collection agency in CA not hte one listed in one of the earlier posts, should I call this # back and see what this is about or just let it go?? Why is someone calling from CA, saying they are from an attorney in NY, something smells fishy.

Appears to be same building as the Police Commissioners Board (according to Google maps)
If the above is correct, I would HIGHLY doubt that an attorney would be calling from that building, but I suppose it is possible.  Someone want to call "Allegiance Telecom" and as who it is registered to?  Or maybe call the Police Commissioners Board, to see if the caller is "spoofing" (illegal) a police number.

I have received two calls from this number. I already assumed it was a scam as it was a pre-recorded message when I answered the phone the first time. I was confused at first because the number they are calling me at is a work cell phone only recently assigned to me and I find it doubtful that outside of my own contacts for work anyone is aware that my SS# is associated to this phone line, if my SS# even if associated to this number at all! Complete nonsense but annoying none the less.

Received a call in reference to my ss# and they said I had to call by 5 or expect legal action.
