It is a number associated with Silver Strands LLC, CA.  Evidently they call and make harrassing calls from multiple numbers.  One other one is 323-429-7507.

Called about a credit card that I do not have with them. "Limited promotion to lower my interest rate" "my eligibility is about to expire" Was told to press one to speak to an operator. If you call back you can supposedly remove your number. This could be a scam. Time will tell I guess.

It's a telemarketer...go figure.  If you call back the number, you get a recording that tells you to press 1 if you don't any more of their "special offers".  Needless to say, I did so.  We'll see if it works

I received the same call.  I am going to try to play the game and see if I can get some more information on this company.  It must be a scam.

No, your number won't be removed.  Just like you, I did the same thing, and told them to remove my cell number from their system....I'm still getting calls.  And similar to a previous post, I inquired about additional medical coverage (or at least that's what the gal said when I did answer the call and got a live person).  I entered this phone number in my phone as SCAM, so I don't ever answer it.

I just got a call from them.  I've never given out my cell number to any company, only a handfull of friends,  so it's possible they just call random numbers.

These guys are criminals.  It cost them no money to call you - they're likely stealing the phone services they use to call you.

It's a very good bet that pressing "2" lets them know that you listened to their entire message.  It's doubtful that they'll remove you from their list - they don't care much about you, or the law, or much else.

They called selling medical coverage.  I held on to press "two" to not receive those calls any more, but it immediately disconnected.  That probably didn't do anything at all.

The recorded (ADAD)call is illegal under Federal (and many state)laws, and they risk a $1500 penalty per each call. They are not worried about that though, because they hide their identity pretty well, at least against the casual recipient of their calls. If you do give them enough info, they will usually take money out of your accounts and give you nothing, or make you think that you have insurance for a while until you have a claim. For info on how this scheme works, Google the names Christopher Ashiotes, Thomas Sullivan, James M. Doyle, and National Alliance of Associations. You will see reports of indictments for Insurance Fraud and other things. To sell insurance they must be licensed in each state, but these con artists have a history of selling nothing. If you really want have an effect on them, keep in mind that they operate out of "Boiler Rooms", mostly using employees who were hired the day before off the street, who often do not realize who they are working for. When you get one of these on the line, explain that their employer is involved in illegal practices (that's why they hide their identity),give them the names to Google, warn them that they, also, could be charged if there is a raid or prosecution, and that they should draw their pay at the end of their shift, because there is a good chance that their employer will disappear overnight without paying them. Suggest that they might want to leave now while they can, or at least confirm the real identity of their boss so that they can give that information to the FBI or police when they arrive, or go after the boss if the wages are not paid.

Telemarketer
Sales person identified company as Healthcare Services and is a medical insurance company with rates much lower than normal insurance companies. He said company was in operation for 25 years, located in Texas. I told him I was concerned about fraud and I asked him if he had a phone number or website, and he said yes, but that was only given out to customers who had purchased a membership for $99/month. He would not disclose this information unless I purchased a membership. I told him that his company had called my cell phone and that it was illegal, and he immediately hung up.
