Called and said that they were with "my credit card company."  I asked what company and explained that because I'm on the do not call list, and it's against the law to call us unless we are a customer.  The black man who answered said that he did not care, called me an a-h*** and a M***** F***** and told me not to die.  Of course I have this on tape.  I told him that if they called it would be$100/minute for the call.

If you call the number back there is a recording saying that if you press 1 you will be taken off their list.  I think you are just confirming that they called a good number as I'm already on a do not call list.

Of course it's a scam.

Didn't recognize the phone number so I didn't answer the call, but I guess I did the right thing as I see there are several problems with the number. It appears that it comes up with many different calle id's.

Just called - I answered - no one there - Wish someone would stop them. Caller ID said "LOSANGELES  CA"

When these people called, I did not answer 'cause I did not know who they were. I heard them leave a message and you could hear somebody coughing as they hung up the phone. By reading what the rest of you said, I tell this is something I am not going to answer anytime in the future.

Mumbled something about expired credit card and urged me to press 9. In the UK, pressing 9 grants the caller control over my telephone line, allowing them to make calls on my expense.

Message from "Sarah"; hung up as she did not know my name or financial institution.  Then used our block service although I know they will just change phone numbers.  We are current on the Do Not Call List.

They called my cell phone around 7pm about credit card debt, which I have none at all. It was a recording. I pressed the number to "talk to a representative" to tell them to take my number off, but just kept ringing. They called back, again some kind of recording but about a Car warranty- still tried to talk to someone with no answer. Kind of annoying.

Lately, I've been bombarded with telemarketing calls from many different sources.  So, I did some research on how to file complaints with the Do-Not-Call registry and the Federal Communications Commission.  I found that it was easy to file a complaint on-line with each agency.  Please file complaints using the following web links.  I am going to start doing this for every unwanted telemarketing call I receive.

Missed call on my cell phone, went to voice mail. Checked voicemail and the only recording was alot of noise.  What a waste of time!

called today and about debt consolidation when asked for a supervisor the male refused.  When my husband talked with the male he requested my husband relay a message for him and he called me a "dirty w***e!!!!"

Number showed up unblocked, recording of woman w British accent saying it was a call to lower my interest rate. This is the SIXTH scam call I have received (the first from this number) and the second scam people I have talked to. I pressed 9 ready to hear the same jerk as last time (that hung up when I informed them that I wasn't calling them...they had called me).

The man was polite so I didn't cuss him out, but playing along. When asked what company he was with he told me he was with Visa/MC headquarters. I told him that if that was true then he'd know that I didn't have a credit card. He said he could set me up with one.I told him no thanks and to remove me from his list. Then I hung up.

This guy was a class a scam artist.

Wow!  she was terrible!  i never answer calls on my cell (which is where i got a call from this #) i figure if it's someone who knows me (or if i was jobhunting) they will have other ways to contact me if i dont answer...email, home phone, etc.

Where is the FTC why are they not doing their job????????

I am writing the president and the FTC everytime I get this scum calling hope someone gets soooooo sick of me... they do something. Would be nice if they shut this scum down for good the world would be a better place.

I have received similar calls before.  Offering to lower my interest rate on credit cards.  I actually received one from a rehab center that forgot to block the number and their name.  I suspect these types of callers have no information on you, but they would NEED your credit card numbers.  If they make hundreds of calls a day and one person gives them this info, it would be a good day.  Beware, these are not ligit and they don't operate under the "no call list".

Received a call from this number today at 2:15EST.  Said "Service Call" on caller ID.  Immediately I knew it was some sort of telemarketer.  I was hoping it was the car warranty people, as I always have such a good time with them on the phone..  Answered line and it was playing harp music for about 10 seconds.  Then a recording came on saying I was eligible only for a short time to lower the rate on my current card balance to 6.9% or lower. I was so elated I quickly pressed 9 to speak to a bank representative.  So of course I was curious as to what bank of mine called me about this fantastic deal.

It was a credit card rate call for me...Pressed 9 to talk to someone.  Told him I wanted to speak with someone about getting off their list. He called me "Hun" and told me I was talking to wrong department, and he'd transfer me to that department, then hung up on me.

Oh, also, I'm a man with a normal man-sounding voice. The "Hun" was a nice touch.

The Do Not Call list expires after a few years and you have to renew it.  Mine ran out and I didn't realize it until I tried to report some calls to the FCC.  They told me I was no longer on the DNC list as it had expired..  I had to renew it, and it would take a few weeks to be started again..

I just got the same call but when I did press 9 it went to a dial tone, I dont have any credit card, neither does my husband and never have. It is so annoying, when your in the middle of something to answer a friggen call like that.

Called on 05 Nov 2009 @ 5:04 pm voice mail recorded some stupid sound then a hang-up.  Came up as a cellular call on the caller ID. Have been getting a lot of unwanted calls recently.  We are also on the "Do Not Call List" but does it work?

Called to "lower my interest rate on my credit card", but didn't say which one or what company. Press nine to talk to a live operator. I hung up. I am on the do not call list.

Called at 7pm on a sunday and when i answered, music was playing

I am jobhunting, so every call from a wierd number has me all atwitter. I wish we could prosecute these f****aces.
