Same thing happened to me.  These people called repeatedly and pretty much the same thing happened each time.

Calls from this number are definitely a scam. They will mail you cartridges and charge outrageous prices for them and hope you do not notice the amount on the invoice.

Just received a call from this number. A woman told me she was from the service department from Ricoh. (I have 18 Ricohs)
She asked me to hold on while she checked my account.  Then a man came on and told me that the price of toner was going up.  I told him I was under contract and did not pay for toner.  As he hung up I heard him say angrily, "They don't pay for toner".  They are phishing for customers.  I get these type of calls a few times a month.

They called today from this number stating they were from Canon and providing quarterly updates. I never receive calls from Canon unless they are answering a service call.  He asked for my name but once he repeated "I just want to make sure not to get you confused with someone else," I knew it was a scam.  Plus he was taking forever to actually tell me what he wanted or needed and once I asked forcefully "what can i help you with?", he just hung up.

They called here and said they were "customer service with the copier"- which we don't lease the copier, we bought it from Costco as we are as paperless as possible and only really use it for any scanning purposes, so no need to services.  I was as polite as I ever am, I said "I'm sorry but we do not have a company that services our machine" and before those words barely came out of my mouth the slammed the line down.  #1 if this were a real customer service they just lost, #2, Had they really been listening when I said "we don't have a copy service" they would have tried to sell it to me- they are just porbably trying to see what phone lines are live to use to sell to other telemarketers

I just received a call from this number; we received calls from an unknown number before with similar stories to what was above. Well they got smarter, now they claim they are from Lanier and try to get a contact for who orders the supplies. I put him on hold and tried to verify with someone and when I was unsuccessful I tried to get him to leave a message, so that I could hand it to the person so as to avoid giving out the contact info, and he hung up.

I got a call from Tony.  He put his "Supervisor" Bryan and when I mentioned that when I pulled their number up online that I could see that they were not affiliated with my copier company. I got hung up on.  I dealt with this 15 years ago.  Do these companies REALLY think that we are all stupid?

This company calls every month asking for the model number of our printer. This time a man stated they needed to send out new manuals ( I just so happen to have purchased the printer recently so It was very obvious it was a scam.) When I politely asked him to stop calling he replied " F*ck you B*tch" and hung up.

I get a call from these people 2-3 times a week per branch (people forward them to me)  They try and sell you toners and supplies for printers and copiers by offering you a "free toner" however you will never get that toner.  You will however start getting more calls from other companies trying to sell you printers, computers, and other business technology.  I consider it a scam and if not for the fact we have a contract with Lexmark and RICOH for our leased machines they would actually stay on the phone with me and not hang up as soon as I ask about it.  

Regularly get this call about them needing to "update their records" so they can send us the new manual out for our copier. Since they repeatedly call and waste my time, I waste their time by putting them on hold and never picking the call back up.

I received a call from Amy today from this # These people are frauds and scam people with toner orders.  I know I work for a copier retail store and they called me!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received a call from 213-537-1909, asking for the serial number off of the office copier. As soon as I told them we wouldn't provide that information, the call disconnected.

Lady called and asked for # on our copier and when I asked who she was calling with she hung up. I tried to call the number back but it is just a busy signal. How can people do this and not get caught??

A call came in today on one of our lines, a male voice said ?My name is Jim, I?m with the company that services your copier, I need the serial # on the copier?. I asked which copier since we have two and he said the one closest to me.  I placed him on hold and went and wrote down both numbers.  When I picked up the phone I asked  ?Out of curiosity, did someone from our office contact you regarding an issue with the copier? his response was ?just do your job you fu**ing moron?, I said ?excuse me?? he said ?You heard me, stop being a fu**ing robot and do your job you fu**ing moron?.  I then said ?Sir, are you speaking to me? ? (still in utter disbelief), and he replied ?Just do your fu**ing job? and hung up.

My story is the same as all the others above.  They are now calling us 2 - 3 times per week.  Isn't this harassment?  How can you make them stop or report them when "Do Not Call" does not apply to business telephone numbers?

when they call about copiers, they are looking for information.  What they are trying to do is find someone who does not know how the toner is ordered (it is typically free with a copier contract).  Then they will get your name (NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR NAME), so they can send you toner and bill you for thousands.  The hope is that the company they send it to is so large that they will pay the massive bill and never notice they got scammed.

I got another call from 213-537-1909 today.  I didn't get the rude woman who hangs up when I ask questions - the guy told me his company was IDC and, like others have said, offered to hold/ship outrageously priced Lexmark tonner cartridges my workplace.  I get a call whenever I speak to my local photocopier service provider.  It's erie - like they know!  Has anyone tried to report these people/requested to be taken off their list?  Who can we complain to?

They call regularly to our office, I cannot believe they've been doing this for so long. They've cursed me up one side and down the other, they told my relief receptionist (when she said, "I think if you service our machine, you should know the number") she shouldn't think because she's a woman.

So, why can no one find out and report this company, again?

DO NOT give any info out about your copier. they will send you all kinds of supplies at an outrageous price. its all a scam

I get these calls all the time.  One friday afternoon i decided to mess with the guy & told him I wasnt giving him any numbers off our copier... he started yelling and told me to "get off my fat a** and get the number!" I laughed soooo hard...what an IDIOT LOOSER!

I get these calls from time and time and every time I explain to them, we are an IT company. We handle our own copiers. They just hang up. Class act!

My suggestion to those who receive this call on a regular basis, keep a whistle or a fog horn close by, and next time they call-let them have it.

They call my office and tell sure, let me get it for you.  Then I put them on eternal hold.
When they call back, I say "hold on, we're getting it for you".  Then I put them on eternal hold, again.

I did not realize this was such a scam on the first call and I confirmed our printer model and gave my name. How bad is this? can they charge us for anything or use our printer? I didn't give the serial # or anything just they type but I'm freaking out!

Someone from "Customer Service" asking for our printer model number. We use a local company, so I knew it wasn't legit. I asked for what company she works and she hung up. Obvious scam.

That's a good one. I'll use it next time!

They claim to be customer service and request the make and model number off the front of the copier machine and when I told them I couldn't give them that information they neandorthal says "Oh Shut Up" and hangs up.

These people say they're from "Customer Service" and that they need to verify our copier information. When I asked her to tell me the name of her company, she hung up on me. When you call the number back, fast busy signal.

A person from one of these compaines just did this same thing to me, and when I told him I had no one here he could talk to he threatened me and said, "I'm calling the cops, your company is f*&%ed! Its 10am, (Its was noon btw), why is everyone at lunch? Your company is a bunch of f*&%ing a%&holes!"

I am at work. My question is this, how can you speak to someone like that while they are working, and expect to ever get through to anyone? How is that legal?

Just an FYI to the dude who called here...You and everyone within your company are dirtbags.

P.S. If I had caller ID at work, I would have called them back ASAP. Does anyone know how to call back a number that just called you without caller ID?
