I work at a hospital. I answered the phone this afternoon and was told " This is Josh from Customer Service. I need the 3 numbers off the front of your copier to update the manual" I replied " Who?" He then said that he needed the numbers off the Ricoh copier to update the service manual. I said we do not have a Ricoh copier and hung up.( My scam alert went up would they not know the machine if they were customer service) The phone rang again i picked it up and was treated to a variety of insults referring to various body parts and calling me a word that rhymed with witch. I said back at you baby and hung up. Unfortunately we do not have call display but reading the way the other people described the calls they received I would assume that it was the same bunch of charmers.
We've been getting these calls for years, but today topped it. The guy says he's from our copier company and needs to verify the number. Told him no he's not and no he doesn't. "How do you know?" Told him it was because our copiers are under contract and all supplies are included. "I know that but our systems are 'melting down' and we need to verify RIGHT NOW so no information is lost." What a crock! Asked him to not call here again to which he replied hope you rot! Tried to call the number back but get recording telling us it can't be completed. Would love to meet these jerks in person.
Im assuming fraud, i live in quebec and they want to buy something that i have on kijiji and they are offering an extra 300$ for an 100$ item!!!
Just received "unavailable" but by a search of Rhonda & copier I was directed here. We have a local company that services our LOCALLY store bought copier. I just asked what company she was with again & she says "That's not a very nice way to start a conversation" & hangs up... Or rather tries to...
I have them on hold right now listening to some random hold music. FU RHONDA! Going on 7 minutes... My main line rolls over, so hopefully this will keep her from bugging anyone else for awhile :)
when they call give them a taste of their own medicine...
-put them on hold to "check the serial number" pick it back up and scream loud
-bark like a dog
-pretend to cry or get upset, tell them your office caught fire and ask them how dare they call at this time and to never call again
-say you are a law official and are investigating the business bc of a crime and interrogate them
the list goes on. fight fire with fire

I am going to tell them it's a model "Yu-scam-elswhar POS" Wish I had that one ready when one of these jerks called me a few minutes ago.
When I get calls like this I tell them we have a Herokima 4000 - they are puzzled and then I tell them they are a scam.
Last time I did this and hung up on them - they called back and called me a B**ch - The entire office has been laughing all day.
Let it go to Voicemail and they did not leave a message.
Just got the same type of phone call. Girl asked for my copier #s and I told her I didn't know them. She said she was trying to send us updated manuals that she worked for the manufacturer. I told her there was no way that the manufacturer knew where this copier was, because I purchased it 10 years ago 2nd hand from an employment agency. She got angry with me and I asked her not to call back and hung up. She then called back and said "Ha, I called back stupid b****".
Get a marine air horn from Walmart or ACE hardware..blast it everytime you get a call from thse idiots... these are evil people and they do NOT have a business..they are a scam trying to get you to say yes or ok or whatever then record it and cut and paste the sound bite onto a sales phone recording.. I've had about five calls from these people in less than three days.. that's wha I'am going to do.. also report them as rapidly as you can file it.
why do I find this hard to believe???
"Tom Diamond calling from Lanier"..a scammer........had the wrong model number...wrong address...I gave him bogus info back
Janet - At Business Number
They said that the toner prices for our Canon copier (which we do have ) went up and that we were "skipped over due to a computer error". They said that they would ship us toners at $500... I cut her off and said "We don't pay for our toners they are part of our service package.". She quickly said "I'll call your corporate office" and then hung up.
As a clerk in a small office supply we have had a couple customers fall for this. We tell them to either refuse delivery or when they call back about the shipment tell them that no one ordered it and since in our state if you didnt order it you dont pay for it AND you get to keep it! HAHAHAHAHA Sucks to be you Toner Pirate!!! We have warned all our customers about them but guess will send another email since a customer just got a call from this number!
SO this guy calls and says, 'hi, I'm calling about your copier supplies" and I didn't reply... (hee hee) so he said, 'hello? hello?' and I said, 'yeah, what do you want?' and he said, 'are you the office on 17th street?' and I said, 'no, and please remove this number from your list' and he yelled, "T**TS!!!' and hung up!
I called the number back and it was a rapid busy signal... I love to try to torture these idiots back!!
Same deal here, told that they are the customer service dept and are calling about service on our copier. I told her "Yea right, weve never had our copier "serviced". please take us off your list" and she tells me to "Shut up".
Too Smart for these Fools
TOTAL SCAM! "Rick from the copier" calls us about 3 times a week. He has told me everything from "get back to work, stupid" to calling me a "w***e" just because I won't give him the copier info. Since I have been dealing with "Rick" for a few years now, I've started having some fun with him. Whenever I see "Private" on the caller I.D., I answer with something like "Hey Rick! Go f*** yourself!" One of my coworkers once fell for the scam and we received an $800 toner. We were able to contact some one named "Bob Stevens" from "ITC Tech Products" but he would never leave a phone number and had to wait for him to call us back in order to get all the return information. We DID return the toner without paying for it.
I wonder how much these low lives get paid...
They called about our copier. They asked for the model. I asked them why. Because they were updating some information. I think told them that we did not have the brand they were asking about and hung up. This is a scam to get information. Social Engineering.
I can't believe these guys can be making these calls after two years of legitimate complaints - as seen here on the website. Can't anyone do anything about it?
I've happily saved their number so I know who it is next time they call - my guess is I have more time to waste than they do!
I just got a call from this scam artist--wish I could call back and yell some more.
The hoser said he wanted to send a 2012 catalogue for our copier.
I asked, why the f*** do we need a catalogue for a copier we already have?
He said "It has all the new information for it."
I said "I have your number, know this scam, and am forwarding it to the LAPD."
HUNG UP :P
This number called us today. When I just picked up the phone she started to speak in fast mode and gradually slowing down at the part of "give me the mp number of copier".
I replied "May I know which company are you calling from?"
She said "Copier company, we need to do computer database update"
and then she continued "so your np number?"
I replied "excuse me?"
She insisted "see what's copier brand near you!"
I answered "Ricoh"
"and what's the serial number?" She asked again
I was still trying to be patient with her "But I'm sorry , mam, may I know which company are you from? Do we have any business with you?"
And here with proud tone she answered me "I'm from Ricoh, now give me the serial number, everything is in our file Your company name ******** , company address ************, but the only thing we need is your copier serial number "
Didn't she just told me that she was calling from "copier company" 2 seconds ago.
When I said our copier is Ricoh , she quickly replied she's from Ricoh.
"Now give me the serial number , don't worry nothing will happen to you"
I replied "I'm only a receptionist in this office, why don't you call maintenance department..........." All of the sudden she hung up
Ok I just got a call from this man. He asked how many toners I had for one of the copiers in my office. I told him we were under contract with someone else. He said " why are you telling me that, I asked how many toners you had. How many toners do you have? Are you trying to be smart? I told him three and he said " OK thanks for being a smart a**" What in the world, I was not being a smart a** to anyone at work! I am trying to call him back to let him know I am reporting him, but only getting a busy signal!! Dang this jerk trying to ruin my amazing Friday!!! He left me so upset I am shaking!!!
I receive the same call every other day. Yes - they are definitely scammers and I have caughat them in a lie before. Just play along with them and when they say their name, place them on hold and then come and say"what was your name again"? By that time they will DEFINITELY not repeat and they hang up.
They get you to tell them your copier information and send you something that you didn't order with an outrageous bill attached. One thing though, they will not repeat their name or their company. So if they were legit, they would be more than happy to repeat it and spell it out for you.
THAT TELLS OUT!!!
WHAT OUT - THEY ARE VERY SLICK!!!
Nathan P. Diamond
This is a scam. They try to get authorization to send toner for office equipment. Once you ask them a question they can't answer, they hang up. He said his name is Brian.
How do i get this company to stop calling here everyday??????
They call everyday and I tell them to remove my number from their list adn never call again. They are rude they either say some smart a** reply or just hang up and call again the next day. When I try to call back and get a Manager the line is always busy and I can not get through. How do I get them to stop calling.
They're running the Toner Scam http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/supplies.asp
Called claiming to be from Ricoh. I told them this wasn't the office that ordered those supplies, but I would pass the info on to the right (unnamed) person.
Just had a call from whoever this is. I asked them what they had on file for us and she hung up, haha. Going to report them!
This woman called, said her name was Rhonda, said she is calling about servicing our copier. We don't have a copier, so I asked again who she was and she said, 'you better slow down!' and I say, 'you called me, who are you calling from' and she said, 'SLOW DOWN' and hung up. Bi***.
I work for a company that services, sells KMBS products (among other things) and we get our supplies from the manufacturer. I had a customer call a few weeks ago about these people. The toner they sent and charged her for was in the amount of 600 dollars plus tax and shipping. We sold the exact same item for $56. If they sold charge 600 per customer, and have the cost of even say 100 dollars, that is 500 + dollars (from shipping) per customer. Even if they get 1 person a day each day of the week, there is 10k per month. I've seen about 5 names total on these messages so a minimum of 2k per person per month. If they do these calls all day, what are the chances they only get 1 per day.
