Keep getting calls from this number saying that I better call back or have my appointed attorney call.  It's a foreign person who is hard to understand and is threatening.  He said I better call back or suffer what will happen next.  Fraud!!!!!  This is absolutely fraud!   I have called the number back and nothing.  No company name or information.

I've continually gotten these calls for about 2 years now.  They call my cell phone and work.  Luckily, I have a wonderful boss who don't pay any attention to the crap that these people say.  When they call they say I owe a debt from a payday loan company.  As stated above I have went through the same spill.  They never have documentation to send you or are never willing to provide you with any legit information.  Now when they call everyone in my office messes with them.  They eventually get fed up and quit calling for a good two weeks then the cycle beings again.  I have forwarded every bit of my information to the FTC.  I would advise everyone else to do the same.  Hopefully they will be caught one day soon.  This is a scam please don't give them any money....

My calls on this number 213 537-3896 have continued non stop. Same old script message but the calls are back to back and message at the end is Only God Can Help You Now. I get the calls at work and it is very annoying when you try to call this Alex Johnson back (using American name with heavy Indian Accent) he doesn't listen to anything you say, just keeps reading from a script. I've made an official complaint to FTCPA and am now goingt to Secret Service and FBI with the same complaint. Next step is to have phone # changed. The 213 537-3896 is not a lan line it is a mobile number out of California.
Don't waste you time calling them back. The next call I get when I am out of the office they are going to be called a few choice words before I hang up on them .  SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Don't even bother talking with them. All they do is repeat and read from a script. They will not tell you who they are or who they are calling for..they just threten you and harass you. I would report to your local Police Department, file complaint with FDCPA and other law enforcement. They hide and are hard to trace them. They also use mobile cell phone numbers. If you call them back # *67 so they do not get your number, they simply answer hello may I help you. No legit company or legal firm picks up their phone that way. They also use american names, speak bad english and have heavy Idian accents.
One name used is Alex Johnson, heavy thick Indian accent you can not understand them. Do not even engage them. If calls persist you might opt to get your cell # or landline changed. That is my next step, I received 9 calls in a row from them.

Received calls on my cell and work number from 213 537-3896 repitive multiple call in a row. Person claiming to be Alex Johnson (speaks very bad English with an Indian Accent) threatening and harassing me, no other information very important I call back and if I don't only God can help me.  The calls are back to back on my cell phone and work phone, and I have recorded these messages on work voice mail and cell mail. I've reported to local police and sheriff office in my area. Do not even speak with these people as you can not even understand them. Called back the number with a *67 and all you get is a message say cell phone provider is not available, so that tells you this is some sort of scam going on. Don't even answer their calls. Report the calls to FBI, Secret Service, Local PD, Attorney Generaly's office. Horrible Horrible people who keep calling just to aggrevate you.

I also keep on getting phone calls from this number. They have been calling me for months accusing me of owning a 300 dollars from a pay day loan company that i never even heard of. I contacted my bank and i did a fraud alert on all of my information and a police report. It is definitely a scam. I asked them to send me information from the company a number or the date when it was deposited into my account and they said they dont have that information. My bank dont have any information of anyone depositing money into my account. I dont even answer my cell phone anymore but now they are calling my job and harrassing my coworkers. What can i do?

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)

By the way, here's just a small sample of numbers used by this particular group of scammers. Read the reports and you'll see the same pattern time and again -- phony organization names, thick foreign accents, and oddly worded threats that are so melodramatic and ridiculous that it's laughable:

Scam alert: Bogus debt collectors
By Leslie McFadden ? Bankrate.com
Monday, Aug. 3
Posted 2 p.m.
Bankrate reporter Leslie McFadden contributed this entry.
This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
?    Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
?    Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
?    File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
?    File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

I am constantly receiving calls from this number but not able to call back to get a physical person to stop the calls.  They said I owe a payday loan that is paid back, but they continue to call my job who is making it a big deal.  If anyone has successfully dealt with these people, information would be greatly appreciated.

I have received at least ten calls a day for the past three days from these people.  It's obviously a scam, but they insist on calling over and over.

I keep getting calls form this number as well.  They say that I owe them $300 for a loan I did not take out.  They have my social security number, my phone and address. It's kinda scary how agressive they are because they called me 9 times.
