My husband got a call from Jason Connors claiming the same thing as the rest of you are saying. I also live in a little town in Texas where we know all the local law enforcement. We passed on the phone number, 646-942-5380 (which is New York by the way because I checked it out), to them and they have called this Jason Connors on our behalf. Since then have not received anymore phone calls.

Thanks to all for this info Today I got the same call. I have some outstanding payday loans that I am negotiating with a Payday Loan Assistance Company and these people called and scared the crap out of me. I really thought I was in big trouble. Now I know I won't get arrested. I could just see myself being hauled off in handcuffs
Ugh!

I am so glad I decided to do some digging because here I was trying to find the damn money to pay these people to stop calling! Another guy that calls is from a (646) 918-5119 and says he's with a company that I don't even have a loan out with. It's ridiculous! These guys are threating that a sheriff will come to my job and that my company will be sued as well. Which I already dug on that too and that's not true either because nobody from the company signed any kind of documentation or anything.

I don't know how to get this stopped, but I am here to tell you I did not get arrested today.  I owe no money, and all they are doing is preying on unwitting people who probably owe money to someone and think this is legit.  The law enforcement around here knows about, and I don't really know what good it would do to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.  You can look them up though.
The last man I talked to with the fraud company said they wouldn't be calling my number again after Friday. Maybe that is how it gets stopped, since it didn't work the first time, they move on to the next unsuspecting person.

I have recd this same call in NC on Friday. I too called the sheriffs dept and they have nothing on me either. Something about owning money to Sonic Cash Net. That they will arrest me, mom, and my son. How can we get this stopped? The number I have is 213 550 4186 & 89. I am going to report this to the news channel.

Just a little information.  The address for this company is supposedly in Anaheim, but the zip code is for Hercules, CA and the area code is for Los Angeles.  Reverse lookup on the phone number puts it in Los Angeles, but the area code for Anaheim is 714.  There is no listing under this name in the LA phone directory, Monetary Crime Division, and there is no listing under Lawyers, Attorneys for this phone number.  If that doesn't tell you it's a fraud, then I don't know what will. Also, the address is for the Anahiem City Hall.  Again, the area code for that is 714.  As you can see, I have spent a little time trying to find out as much as I can about this con phone fraud.

I spoke with the Police department, who spoke with our local Sheriff and the Sheriff said he has nothing on his desk for this matter.  He also said that loans are a civil matter and are not handled this way.  He also said that the courts do not work this way.  He said it will not happen, it is a hoax, and that they are scamming money out of people.  I read several other reports on numbers that had similar endings, i.e. 4184 and 4189.  Same names of the men and same accusations and same threats.  All they are doing is trying to get money from unsuspecting people.  I will post on here tomorrow to let you know that it did not happen to me. Fraud on a check is only over $1000 here in Texas.  My best friends Mother is a judge in this little town and she also said not to worry.

I've received the same call from this Alex.  He said he would be at my job on Monday, 16th also in MIchigan.  However I call the local Michigan sheriff dept and was told a sheriff could come and pick me up just make sure I ask them to show me an ID.

What is going on?  This is crazy.  I called back to the Alex  and got another person by the name of Jason Conner who told me to send him a letter that I authorize them to take out half ($500.- half of what was told I owed) along with my SS# to avoid the sheriff coming to my  job on Monday.  Jason said the creditor was American Credit Services.

I don't feel this is legal.

Did you get your situation settle?

I received numerous, one after the other calls at work today, at least 15 within a 10 minute period, from a guy named Alex. He said he was with the Monetary Crime Division and that there is a case against me for fraud.  I had no idea what he was talking about and told him so and hung up.  He then started all the calls at work.  My assistant manager got involved and stated to Alex not to call the number again.  He then kept calling and that is when my boss, the owner, got involved.  He also told Alex not to call again or he would notify the police.  Alex waited maybe 2 minutes and then called 3 more times.  When I got home from work there was a message on my machine, so I decided to return the call.  It was answered Hello, no business name, and so I asked the name of the business.  Law firm was the response.  The person to whom I spoke was named Ryan and he proceeded to tell me that on Monday, March 16, the Sheriff will come to my work with a subpoena and a warrant for my arrest and will arrest me and take me to the courthouse where there is a case against me for non-payment of a loan from 2007.  I told him all loans are paid and I have documents from the loan company stating so.  He said I can give them to the judge.  He also told me to inform the references I had on my paperwork and my employer of the situation because they were all responsible too.  He told me that I owe 550 some odd dollars and cents and that if I had indeed paid the loan off I have only to show the judge.  This is ridiculous, and I told him so.  I also told him that I was calling the loan company.  I did just that and the loan company said they are getting alot of complaints about this 3rd party fraud, and they are not associated with them.  The representative also assured me my loan is paid off.  I then called the Sheriffs department and now have an officer investigating this situation.  How many people call on Friday and tell you you are going to get arrested on Monday morning?  All I know is there is something strange going on here, and our little town officers in Texas are going to find out what.
