Exact same thing just happened to me right now.  I was immediatly suspicious with the heavy accent and the noise in the background.  I got on the internet and saw all of these posts so it's a scam but it scared me.  How do they get so much information on me?  This makes me really angry.  I can't believe that these people are getting away with this and nobody has stopped them yet.

Apparently they are not affiliated with the original CashNet, they are Cashnet 500. I know this because when i tried contacting their corporate office the person I spoke to didn't even let me finish explaining before she said 'we are not that company you are looking for. They are Cashnet 500 and I don't have any contact info for them, you would have to look it up.' So even if you took a loan from Cashnet, this is not them, these are scammers. This guy had my email, home address, and the last four digits of my social. Now that is scary.

OMG!  I cant believe what I am reading.  I returned from lunch today & sat down to listen to my messages & heard the same voice that you all have been describing.  "John Goodwin" said that if I didnt return his call, that I would regret it & wished me good luck.  I was really thrown back by this message & I listened to it repeatedly just to make sure I wasnt crazy!  I ended up calling this 213-550-4189 & like all of you, he had a very heavy accent & the noise in the background was unbelievable.  I could barely make out what he was saying.  He finally agreed that their was a bad connection & told me to hang up & he would call me back. I asked him what was the call pertaining to & he would never say, he just kept insisting that I hang up.  Well I finally hung up & he called right back, but it was the same heavy noise.  Again, he said that he would call back.  I was still curious & so I googled the number & BAM, I see all these comments from you guys.....this is just really shocking to me.

I did take a very very small loan ($250) from Cashnet, two years ago for emergency vacation money, but it was paid back in full & has been for awhile & I have proof to back it up....so seeing that most of you have dealt with Cash Net, I now understand how he got my number to my job & see that he's out for something he sure in the heck isnt getting from me.  He hasnt called me back, but when he does I will be ready for him. Some people have the nerves to try & scheme........its not like he was going to get anything from me anyway....when I know that i've paid, I dont even listen to people like that, but when you're caught off guard like that & have someone threatning you, you just dont know what to think.
Bottom line is something needs to be done!

I got a voicemail from a man with a heavy accent and a super noisy background claiming that I needed to call him right away and not disregard the message or else I would be sorry. I was caught off guard and confused because I don't have any legal issues. So when I get upstairs to my office, my co-worker tells me I got a call from the same person, John Goodwin, at # 213-550-4189. I called back and could hardly hear him because of the noise in the background. He asked me what # did I receive the call to and I told him they called me at my job and cell so I didn't know what to tell him. I could hardly hear anything so he said he would call me back from another phone. When he did call back, the # was different, it was 941-961-8518. So he starts to go through all this legal jib jab about how I am being charged with 3 different counts of fraud and how I borrowed money from CashNet and had it cleared through my bank account. I told him to stop himself right there becuase he immediately accused me of commiting such a crime. He asked that I contact my ratined attorney because someone would come for me at my home or job. He mentioned the last four digits of my SS#, my home address and my Yahoo email. He asked that I not interrupt him while he read a "legal" statement as it was being recorded by the "courts". So I asked him what court had this case so I could go and take care of it and he told me to get my retained lawyer to settle out of court and when I said I wanted to go to court because I had nothing to hide, he didn't know what court I was supposed to report to. Long story short, this is very horrible. They threaten you and accuse you of commiting a crime you know you didn't do and then they can't even show legitimate proof for it. I will be contacting news stations to report this and hopefully not too many more people will be threatened by these criminals.

I also rec'd calls at my work number and home phone.  Caller ID said 941-961-8518 and the caller was Amanda Black.  Left a message to call me at the 213-550-4189. Caller was foreign, very hard to understand, and the background was very noisy.  They had my place of employment, knew my mother's and sister's names, and said they would also be arrested if I didn't pay $5,484.87. Advised them they would have to contact my attorney - surprise - they didn't call her.

The same thing just happened to me. I think the guy said his name was John Goodwin and he was an attorney and that I owed money from online in 2007. I am going to my local police tomorrow. When the guy called me back after i hung up on him he left a dirty message on my phone that i did keep and at the end he made a comment about my kids. Now that is over stepping and I will do whatever it takes to get these people cought.

I was told that I had taken a loan on line in 2007 and that it had never been repaid. After I argued for several minutes and explained to him that this was not possible I hung up.  He called back about ten minutes later and told me that my paperwork had been executed at the courthouse and that I would be arrested the next day.  While he was on the phone I looked up the number he gave me to call him back and discovered other people had been scammed and I told him i found it.  He then hung up on me.

So, did they come?  Our Sheriff's department said it is a major hoax and that there is no such warrant.  Apparently they are calling alot of customers of small loan companies, but mainly using CashNet from the reports I have read.  I just wonder how many people have ended up sending them money to get them off their backs.  The Ryan I spoke to said he would never be calling my number again.  If I really owed the money, they would continue to call.  The things people do for money.

This is exactly the same calls I received today at work.  The first call was yesterday, but I could not understand the number so I erased the message.  No number on the caller ID, so I couldn't call back.  This afternoon at work I started getting the calls, and you are right, you cannot understand what they are trying to say or hear because of the noise in the background.  I was told the same thing about a court case against me for fraud, and that on Monday morning at 11 am I will be delivered a subpoena from the Sheriffs office and be arrested and taken to the courthouse for my case to be heard.  I don't think they know that where I live, everybody knows everybody, and that includes all the local law enforcement officers, Police, Troopers, and Sheriffs.  On a first name basis with all of them.  I called and reported them to Cashnet, with whom I have had loans in the past, but ALL of them are paid in full, as you cannot take out a second loan without the first being paid.  The calls are about a loan in default from 2007 and I have documentation from the loan company, all is paid in full.  The representative assured me they are not affiliated in any way with these people that are calling and harassing all of their customers, and she also gave me her name and a number to report them to Cashnet regarding this 3rd party fraud.  I have involved the local authorities in this matter and they are investigating it at this very moment.  They will get to the bottom of this matter, even in this little Texas town; I think they need to be reminded "Don't Mess with Texas!" The number to report them to with CashNetUSA is 1-866-254-3581.

I got a call from that number as well. They told me that they worked for some law firm and that there was going to be a warrant out for my arrest. I was supposely charged with forgery, fraud and one other thing. They claimed I had gotten money from a cash advance called cash net. I never even heard of the company. When I asked them not to call anymore the guy said he would keep calling. He gave me the name of Chris Wilson and Chris Williams. There is alot of noise in the back ground so it even makes it harder to hear what he is saying on top of the accent he has. He claims to be an american....yeah right. I told him that if he continues to call me that I will call the local police and file a report on them. I also told him that in America if a bill is owed that they send some form of notification and that they give out proper contact information.

Collections of some sort.  Called my employer and told them I would be arrested the next day at eleven.  I called back and gave them my bankruptcy case number and they told me I would need a criminal lawyer.  They left the name Amanda Black, but their number is not listed.  When you call them back they are foreign and difficult to understand.  I called the local police and they said that they receive a bunch of similar complaints.  They checked my name statewide and there are no arrest warrants.
