I just got a similar call from a man named Frank and he said he was calling from Global Connections International.  I asked him for the website and, at first, he said that they don't have one.  Then, he said, "Oh wait...yes...We do have a website and it is www.exploregci.com and that they are located in Buffalo NY."

I checked out the website and asked him to verify AGAIN where they were located.  He said that their main headquarters was in Buffalo NY, but the website said otherwise.  I pressed him about who was the company CEO/President (since Frank insists that he was a Manager).  At first, he said he didn't know...Later (After I heard him typing away - probably going to the website he gave me) he said Tom Lyons (which is what was listed).  Epic FAIL, Frank!  You are a scammer and I am going to have you prosecuted!

Just for reference, he said I should schedule a time to come to the local office here in my area (Crystal Lake, IL) and pick up my prize package.  He said that both my wife and I should be present.  I told him I wasn't available to come until mid-November.  Anyway, here is the address and informaton he gave:

Global Connections Int'l
500 Coventry Lane
Suite 140
Crystal Lake, IL  60014

Phone: (716) 406-4415 x222
Contact:  Frank

Supposedly won a 3 day/2 night trip with airfare for 2.

Canadian Value Solutions was TVS, The Vacation Store.  They changed their name. Google TVS on the BBB and you will see why the name change. And for every person that goes to the FREE dinner to get their FREE gifts for attending their presentation, it ends up costing the person 39.90 to get the FREE gifts as promised. They are given a voucher for the free trip promised, then another voucher for the Free early bird gifts. To get the gifts you have to mail it in along with 19.95 in a cheque or money order for each FREE gift...How is this FREE...this is false advertisement, and a SCAM

Um, yeah ok "Adam Smith" or "jurry Walker" I'm definitely not going along with what you say...

These guys, Canadian Value Solutions, called me today. What showed up on my caller ID was "unknown number" (which I don't even know why I answered!). They gave me their website and as we were talking I was sitting in front of my computer checking them out. Their site seemed kind of familiar... and it wasn't until I simpy put their name in google that I found this site that I realised who they were. Thanks everyone, because it wans't until I started reading all your posts that I realised that they had called me a few months ago claiming to be from "The Vacation Store".

Same MO: They told me they were calling long distance from New York and that I had filled out a ballot back in december and out of (I can't remember how many entries) me and 150 other people were selected to win one of two vacation prizes. They knew my name, by boyfriend's name and his work number. I could hardly understand what the man was saying and he told me his number was 716-406-4415. He kept asking me if I was over 29 (which I am) and I kept saying yes, but the guy kept repeatedly saying that I sounded pretty young, which started to make me angry because if I said yes once, I shouldn't have to keep repeating my age to the rep and he shouldn't keep asking.
I just moved to Ontario and I'm not even a legal resident yet, so how the heck did they get my name? I did not fill out a ballot, nor do I have any bills here yet in my name!!
So as I was reading the posts here, I of course immediately knew it was a scam and told the guy that this was not going to work out for me, that I had a busy schedule and would not have the time to pick up the prize, etc, etc and that's when all hell broke loose LOL He started telling me how I sounded nice and that was why he spent so much time on the phone explaining things to me; how could I do this to him; then he started asking me personal questions like do I have any children (maybe one of them could go pick it up for me) and I said no, then he's like "don't you want kids?" and I'm like what the hell does that have do to with winning a prize?! Then he was asking me what I do with my time and surely I can find a minute to go to their office. Anyways, all these questions that I was like, um, yeah, I really just wanted to hang up on the guy. Even if it wasn't a scam, I don't care, their 'customer service' disgusted me and if they were legit, no rep would ever talk to you like that

Hi

I am from the UK and just living here for a year or so. I got a call from these people Canadian Value Solutions and they gave me 2 choices of holiday prizes. I am shocked that this is happening with such regularity. My wife and I have had about 5-6 of these types of calls in the past few months. In the UK there are regulations that govern this kind of harrassment. Here it seems that these people are just free to scam citizens at will. It is false advertising at best and a scam at worst.

They told me that I would have to pay nothing and that all they wanted was my word of mouth publicity for their company. I don't believe or trust it to be true. I just hung up on them.

I just received a call from them.  I don't know how they got my number.  They said I filled out a ballot at the mall near my house sometime between Easter and Canada Day.  But my number has only been activated in September.  I offended the manager when I said I Googled the company and found not so nice things being said about them.  Thanks for the posts.  I knew it was a scam because they keep calling my house.

Add me to the list of people who've gotten this call.  The rep's name was Peter, but when he put on his supervisor, the guy referred to him by a different name.  You can also hear all kinds of people in the background doing the same spiel.
I had some time so I let him do his thing, and said I was interested.  He eventually put on his supervisor, and let him babble for a few minutes before I said not interested.
NOTHING is ever free, and if they don't want to mail you your prize, screw'em

I received a call today from the guy name Mike, (Indian accent) and he gave me their phone #416-636-1300, he said he is from CVS (not mention Canadian Value Solutions at all), He said I won a gift of 2 free air + 2 nights fly from Bufullo to Orlando or Las Vegas, but must pay $150 each for the airport tax, and a bonus of 2 nights in Niagara Falls, also if we go we will have 2 buffet dinner. I talked to my spouse and said there is nothing for us to loose and we will have 2 free dinner tonight anyway for the 90 minutes presentation, he said this is not a timeshare deal type and they just want to sample their travel experience and if we like it, then we can buy, there is no obligations.
Anyhow, we went to 216 Chris Lea Rd, Woodbridge, what it is, they are selling vacation points, for 25,000 points cost $15,995 and each studio will cost you 500 pts, 1-br cost you 1000 pts and 2-br cost you 1500 pts until you deplete the 25000 pts. Each unit say studio each you book, you have to pay US$599 for fee, 1-br US$699 and 2-br US$799, plus if you want outside their 13 hotels you have to pay US$199 for exchange fee. Anyhow, the presentation was terrible, they just write everything on a white board and they didn't tell what kind or names of their propertay and they want to get you $16k???? What a poor marketing, who wants to spend $ without seeing anything, what happen if they close down tomorrow and where can you find them??? They kept saying the money/points are in trust with Suitelife company (never heard of them); and their video to show their own property or in fact they don't have any.
We left after our 90 minuites presentation and they gave us 2 pieces of paper and we have to mail in to get the vouchers with SELF ADDRESS STAMP ENVELOPE plus $30 each, so they can mail us the vouchers, I tried to read the fine prints on the paper, forget it, there are so much fee and if you want their free hotels/motels, as might as well book you own hotels...  btw, they mention Orlando is a hotel/motel and i think it may be a motel 6 type...
Good luck to you all.

Now they are blocking the number from caller id and when questioned as to the reason for the call he told me he was calling my office ??? Huh??? like I dont know where I am. He hung up on me when I pressed him for an answer on the reason for his call (he states he is the manager ... like that should impress me) and called on my other line. I answered it, because now its a game, asked if it was the same manager ... got no response so I hung up and hopefully they will stop calling now. What does bother me is they know my name. Do NOT like that!

I just got this call today on a Sunday at 12:30p.m. from some guy with a heavy indian accent congratulating me for winning a prize which he said I won because I had filled out a ballot in December and that I was one of 150 people of 10,000 who filled out ballots who were chosen as winners.  THIS IS A SCAM! They he wanted me to verify information over the phone which he allegedly had in front of him as he needed to confirm my identity.  This idiot, then proceeds to explain that CVS is state regulated in Ontario (last I checked Ontario wasn't a state) he told me that was calling from Buffalo, NY.  Also, he was clearly calling from a cell phone which kept getting disconnected, he called back several times each from a different phone line, and when I refused to answer his questions to confirm the information on the ballot, as I told him that I wouldn't provide information over the phone and that I was suspicious of the call, he said just check out our website we're totally legitimate and he expressed shock that I would doubt his honestly.  Then he had some other man, his partner in crime no doubt, who called himself Dave, call me back and ask me if I had any questions. I said this is a scam don't call me ever again. He said how can you say that, I said don't call me ever again and hung up.    BEWARE this is a scam and these losers are good for nothing jerks who'd rather lie and cheat people rather than work an honest days work.  I HATE scammers!

got a strange call from this number, they had the name of one of my family members, and claimed to be calling from the National Grant Center?? The man calling had a heavy Indian accent, and claimed to be located in Buffalo NY, which is odder still, since I live in the GTA, Ontario. I googled the national grant center, and they are located in Santa Barbara, CA, USA. Seems like a scam to me.

I just got off the phone with Johnson from Canadian Value Solutions. He called me at 8:45am on Saturday morning and woke me up. They promised a free trip to Cancun/Las Vegas and another trip to Orlando, Fl with a bonus gift of a weekend in Niagara Falls. We thought it was a scam so we didn't want to answer the phone the next time he called but he called four times in two hours. Finally, we picked up and told the guy we're no longer interested but he persisted in telling us it's a big mistake and we shouldn't miss out. But that didn't bother us much since we've already been to all those places on our own! The only thing that got him off the phone was when I told him someone wanted to give us a free weekend at a Blue Mountain resort but we just needed to pay $60 up front. I told him nothing is for free and if he really wanted to give us the trip, he can mail it. But he didn't want to do that and he agreed nothing in life is for free and hung up.

Just got a call from Johnson and his Indian buddy promising us a trip to Las Vegas or Florida.  They had information that I have no idea where they obtained from.  Johnson said me and my wife would "both" need to show up in person tomorrow at 6:45PM.  This was alarming as they have my address and having us over at their place in Woodbridge, ONTARIO would mean there's sufficient time to conduct a burglary.  So I searched for their company name "Canadian Value Solutions" and the first Google hit brought me here.

I'm thankful to all of you for having shared your experience with these scammers.  Is there anyway to report them to the police or they're not doing anything illegal?

Thank you everyone, I've been looking for information about these guys for a while until I googled "Canadian Value Solutions is a scam".

They called me last year under the premise that I filled out a ballot, they recited that I wrote on the ballet X, Y, and Z which was surprising because it was information that I would never offer on a ballot or to anyone except the government.

I was curious so I went along with it, though I already knew it was a scam, and even went as far as confirming my presence to their dinner and presentation. I met my girlfriend there and I ended up taking her out to dinner as a surprise, there is an Italian restaurant that I had reservations at on Langstaff (Castello Ristorante Antico, which was excellent!). But for a while we watched people go into the building before leaving for dinner, after our 90 minute meal I drove back to get my girlfriend's car and most people were still in the building! Those coming out did not look happy. SCAM!

Just this past month, at a new address and phone number, I have been receiving calls from these guys. And no matter what they still keep calling, I ask them to remove my number and they insist it's not telemarketing. I will need to come up with a more creative tactic but at least I get to use my brain in a creative sense.

Stay away and thank you to everyone who has confirmed these guys are a scam!

Thanks. Your comments have been useful. I also recieved a call from Canadian Value Solutions.  The sales rep. Neil said I filled out a ballot at the Golf Show back in March and that my name was selected for a free vacation to Las Vegas including airfare and hotel. I asked him to send me the information he said NO and that I would have to attend a presentation in person. I said NO.
It all Seems Fishy. SCAM
