I need to know who called me.
| VIP 2013-04-10 23:52:02 Telemarketer |
Lady with indian accent called today saying she was from direct buy. I picked up the phone and said I was not interested and hung up. 10 minutes later, same lady called back trying to talk and disguise a different tone a voice but I could clearly tell it was her. I hung up once again. Spammers trolling!! WARNING: DO NOT PICK UP YOUR PHONE! They will keep calling you once they know they have a valid phone number. Note: They are not from direct buy, they are using a fake number and are impersonating a company/people.

this is a fake number, non existing spoofed number used by Direct Buy to harass people on the do not call list- probably from craigs list ad placers

The girl from direct buy was too perky! I told her I was naked and aroused by her voice. I told her if she guessed how big I was, I would buy whatever she was selling. She hung up on me. It gets em everytime.

BBB advises that consumers heed the following advice when dealing with robocalls:
Hang up immediately on any robocall offering reduced credit card interest rates or home security systems, unless you are certain it?s from a current provider or is a legitimate offer.
Do not press any numbers while on the call as that may simply confirm to the people originating the call that they?ve reached a valid phone number.
Do not press 2 in the hopes of being deleted from the call list.
Do not press 1 to listen to the offer or speak to a representative
Caller ID service, however, is susceptible to fraud. Using a practice known as ?caller ID spoofing,? callers can deliberately falsify the telephone number and/or name relayed as the Caller ID information to disguise the identity of the calling party. For example, identity thieves who want to collect sensitive information such as your bank account or other financial account numbers, your social security number, your date of birth or your mother?s maiden name, sometimes use caller ID spoofing to make it appear as though they are calling from your bank, credit card company, or even a government agency.
Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009
The Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009, which was signed into law Dec. 22, 2010, prohibits caller ID spoofing for the purposes of defrauding or otherwise causing harm. In June 2010, the Federal Communications Commission adopted rules implementing the Truth in Caller ID Act.
Filing a Complaint
If you have caller ID and receive a call from a telemarketer without the required caller ID information, if you suspect that Caller ID information has been falsified, or you think the rules for protecting the privacy of your telephone number have been violated, you can file a complaint with the FCC. There is no charge for filing a complaint. You can file your complaint using an online complaint form. You can also file your complaint with the FCC?s Consumer Center by calling 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to:

This is the third calls from Direct Buy and it's the same guy keep calling. I told them I am not interested and DO NOT CALL AGAIN. They try to lure you to go to some presentation and entice with a gift if you go. No matter how many times I told them I am not interested, they keep calling. This guy, self proclaim his name is Alfredo Martinez but with an Indian accent, just would not give up and refused to hang up. So annoying....
I contacted Direct Buy corporate office and told them I already filed a complaint on DoNotCall.gov. And hope this will stop. Please everyone do something about this if you have received a call from them. Here's Direct Buy's corporate info.

Same here, ads on craiglist and this number called at 20:33 on 23-Feb-2013 and did not leave a message. Nearly 2K miles away so I knew it was not likely a local ad call> I think this has happened before, they must have a troll for craigslist numbers and I have mine broken up and texted with a few odd characters in. Will have to get more innovative on my number posting....
What is the FTC and FCC doing for us these days? Also on no call list plus it's a cell.

This number is Direct Buy and do not answer! If you do, they will keep calling and keep calling. I have registered with the National Do Not Call registry and they still call. They are a rip off and annoying. If there was a way to take legal action against them for harassment, I would do it.
| Rose 2013-02-07 04:31:21 Unknown |
