I got several calls from 213-799-0709.  There's never a message.  I know people in Los Angeles, but this number doesn't belong to any of them.  It's a scam.

When I checked my cell phone after work today, I found the number 213-799-0709 as a missed call, and that they had called at 5:20 PM Eastern time. I had no idea who this number belonged to. I tried to call back to find out if it was anyone I know, but the call would not go through despite several attempts. I put the number in Google to find out more, and that's how I found the number is used for scams.

Got a called at 11:30 p.m.  Woke me up on a work night.  Said my credit union account was compromised or locked.  Tried to re-dial the number and was disconnected every time.  I.  HATE. SCAMMERS!

There is another round of calls going out (Last night 11:30pm EDT Thursday June 14th) from phone # 213-799-0709. Received it on my mobile #.  Called the number back, it does not answer.

The automated message claimed to be from some random bank and that the debit card PIN has been deactivated.

They are trying to steal your account information or just get you on the phone to SCAM you.

Ignore it.

I got a call from this number at 11:15 pm! I called back and the call didn't even go through. It just started to ring and then stopped.

same story.  Stated local credit union had deactivated my account.  I don't have a credit union account. called back - doesn't even ring. Reported call to do not call registry and to verizon, but doubt anything will happen.

I received two phone calls from this number, one yesterday and one today, both in the afternoon (pacific time).  It was a voice recording, stating that the woman was calling from Greylock Federal Credit Union to say that my Visa debit card was locked.  What a crock.  Greylock is an actual credit union, but the recording never identified an actual bank the supposed debit card was from (e.g., Citizens, Bank of America, Sovereign, etc.).  I called the number back from a different phone and it didn't even ring.  A***oles.

Heard phone ringing, answered it, did not recognize the number! Said it was from Greylock Federal Credit union. Said that card had been locked but bank doesnt have my cell number. Listened to the recorded message and I hung up. I was verry confuzed. Called bank and bank said they do not know or own any number with this area code. I then went online and looked this up, I found that it is a California number that had been attempted to be looked into many times, but failed. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Caller from 213-799-0709 is most likely a scammer. BEWARE!

Same as Drea - let it go to voicemail and got a snippet saying something about a "24 hour security department". Tried to call back, no ring and a disconnect. Scam.

Just got a call from this stating my health card had been de-activated. Said I needed to press #7. It disconnected and I can't get back through.

I got a call from 2137990709 said my debit card was locked, to unlock I was to press 1
I hung up

Remove this number.  It is an official business line.

Same here, got a message my credit card was lost press one for security. Called the number back and there is no ring and it disconnects

Got a call about an hour and a half ago. I quickly dropped by my branch to verify any suspicious activity. Everything was cool. I gave numbskull's number to the teller. Also changed my PIN while I was at it and plan to get a new card soon. I've locked myself out of my account before and at no time did any call to say that they regret to inform me that I was locked out my account.
I can only surmise that the next few questions would have involved verifying my SSN and mother's maiden name.

Reported that my credit union card was lost. I don't deal with a credit union, so I hung up.

Received a call from this number stating my Denali Alaska card had been compromized.  To re-activate press 1.  I don't have a Denali Alaska account.

I hope that with all of these numbers being reported something can be done to end the harassing calls.

Same call - your debit card is on hold press 1 to release the hold and talk to a representative.  I did press 1 and the phone hung up...  then my husband got the same call 5 mins. later.

Then we called the company they said we had a debit card with - and that company said they are getting TONS of reports on this issue.  Submitted the info to the FBI who said to report to the Secret Service...  not too surprised that the Secret Service didn't answer... guess they are tied up with other issues...  

Looks like this has been going on for awhile - you'd think PacBell or the FBI / SS could get this operation shut down.

Received an early Saturday morning recording saying my Global debit card has been locked and to proceed by pressing 1.  I just hung up.  I don't have a Global card.

jUST GOT THE SAME THING STATING THEY WERE FROM GENERAL MILLS CREDIT UNION...CLEARLY DONT HAVE AN ACCOUTN WITH THEM AND IT WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME CALL THEM BACK FROM MY WORK NUMBER

I received a call from this number telling me my Chase Credit Card has been compromised. I did call Chase and report the scammer...

got a call from here and said my bank card was compromised and wanted information.  I hung up
