Call from a Gavin Johnson, hudson law firm, very strong mid east accent, claiming my name was given as referrence in fraud case against my daughter.  Needs a call back asap. What scumbag scam artists are out there now is unbelievable.  They do need to be stopped. News says that identity theft is at an all time high.

I got a call from a guy saying he was Officer Jack Smith.He had a very thick accent and I could not understand him well.He said it was a bout a debit I owed.He said if I did not return the call things would get very bad for me.The number he gave me was 949-895-0005.I am in Vermont and this was a califorina number.I tried to call and the number was unreachable.I called my phone company and they could not locate the number either.The next day The Officer called back and said he was putting me over to an Attorney who then said his name was Ray Fleck again a very strong accent.He said I took out a loan on the web from Zippay day loan for $300.I told him I did no such thing and that I wanted proof.He said I would be getting papers in the mail and he got very vulgar with me when I told him I knew this was a scam and he was a lier.So Be careful people!!!

WALLINGFORD, CT, August 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about would-be debt collectors who call "payday" loan holders, threatening arrest if they don't pay immediately.

A payday loan, also known as a paycheck advance, is a short-term cash advance intended to cover expenses until the holder's next payday.

The callers claim they are lawyers with the "Financial Accountability Association" or the "Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans," and they are armed with stolen personal information from their victims, indicating a major security breach of unknown origin. The names used by the scammers may change with time.

According to Connecticut Better Business Bureau President, Paulette Scarpetti, payday loan holders appear to be particularly at risk.

"Because the scammers have so much information about potential victims, BBB is concerned that this may be the result of a data breach. Thousands of people may have had their personal information compromised."

Reports received by Better Business Bureau and posted online explain the con artists threaten the loan holders of defaulting and claim they are being sued. The imposters threaten the loan holders with imminent arrest and extradition to California to stand trial, unless they immediately wire $1000 or provide bank account or credit card information.

Connecticut Better Business Bureau has advice for consumers who receive suspicious telephone calls about an outstanding debt:

-Don't be bullied into immediate action. Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation that substantiates the debt.
-Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the telephone until you confirm the legitimacy of the call.
-If you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you, file an abuse complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online at www. ftc.gov, or by telephone at (202) 326-2222. Also file a complaint with your Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org or by telephone at 203-269-2700, ext. 2.

This person is also using the number 321-251-1921 and say they are with Law Affidavit or something like that, he is very hard to understand as he has a middle eastern accent.  When I asked to speak to someone who speaks English better, I got transferred to someone who is supposedly Ray Fleck's boss but also difficult to understand.  This person has called multiple times to various people where I work today and harrased them trying to get personal information about me.  

Has anyone found a way to stop this persons harassment which could cause me to get fired since I am not allowed personal phone calls at work?

Received a call this morning from a Ray Fleck who advised that he was calling from Hudson & Associates Law Office and a lawsuit was being filed against me for a loan taken out in November from a company.  I informed him that I did not take out a loan in November he then routed the call to David Slater who said an apology letter had to be written stating that the terms were not clear and said letter had to be notarized and faxed over to him today.  The telephone he gave was (213) 784-4847 and the mailing address is 1408 Bayview Court, Los Angeles, CA 90045.  I called back to speak to Mr. Slater he said everything had been cleared there had been a mistake and I would not be receiving and more calls from them.

This is a scam , they also use number 310-421-2005.  They still say they are from Hudson & Associates Law Firm.  The local Bar Directory does not show the law firm or any attorney names they have used.  The number is supposed to be issued by Level 3 Communications.

I received a call on my work phone from a guy claiming to be Samuel Jackson. He verbally threatned me and stated that if I did not return this call the police would be at my job and house to pick me up. Since I know that I do not owe anyone I immediately knew that this had to be a scam. I told the guy that I would file suit against him for calling me on my work phone and harrassing and threatening me about something that he refused to discuss. I asked him to tell me what this was in reference to and he refused to answer, this also made me weary of this caller. The guy sounded like an asian or middle easterner.

I tried looking this "law firm" up with the BBB and found no information.  The number is in LA.  There are no law firms in LA with the name "Hudson & Associates".  This person must be stopped!

I had a threatning message left on my voicmail from a person claiming to work for a law office from this number.  I was told that for my safety, I needed to call back.  When I called back and confronted this person, they asked what number I was calling from and when I said "no" and told them I wanted to know their information, this person started yelling stating that they were going to send people to my work and home to find me.  This person had my SS# and bank accout information and claimed I took out a loan with cash.net in 5/08 online, this never occurred.  When I told him this loan was false, he then told me that it was people like me who bring this world down.  I told him I would be contacting the police and since have.

I rec'd a call today from this same instance.  When asked to speak directly to Jack Dalton, Ray FLeck claimed he was not in the office.  Before giving me any info about who called, I had to give him the number that he called me.  I assume they are keep track of their lies in their system.  I demanded that he has Jack Dalton contact me personally.
The message that was left was for my sister and was threatening also. So naturally, I called and gave them a nice old fashioned cursing out until they hung up. The person to leave the message was a middle eastern man sounding like the same man that answered when I returned the call.

These people called me and said I took out a payday loan on january 25th 2008 for a company called cashnet.usa said the loan was for 500$ however the account that the supposed loan was deposited to had been closed in november 2007 I asked all kinds of questions and they just laughed at me and made shrewed remarks and I called them about 5 times and when I said iwould get a lawyer they kept hanging up. I remember tryen to get a payday loan online but I was denied, I belive I filled in numbers of references at the time of tryen to obtain the loan so they called my mom and my cousin too. The man said his name was ray fleck and had a thick accent like middle eastern be where of these criminals I plan on contacting the better business bureau

I just recieved a message from Samuel Jackson too. He says he has a case against my neighbor and I have been used as a number one referance. My neigbors name is correct. I have been used as a job referrance for her for years. He says there will be a file downloaded on her. I need to call them back if I dont want action taken on me too. Are they idiots? Even if she has a bad loan like they say, dont they konw in the USA you cant be held accountable for the indiscretions of thy neighbor?

First they threaten you and then they try to get your personal information

I received a call from the same number. The first call I got was a threatening call. The caller said that I was a liar and a bloody bi***. On the next call, the caller claimed to be Samuel Jackson of Hudson & Associates Law firm. When I called the number back there was a message about a lawsuit and I was given a case number. Then I informed the caller that a full scale investigation was being conducted. Of course he hung up and I haven't heard from him again.
