My VM simply says : Sorry we missed you, please leave a message. I never give any information as to phone number etc. So when someone does call, they HAVE to know who they are looking for. It helps me filter the plethora of scum sucking telemarketers, phishers, and outright scammers that continue to abuse the privacy rights of individuals.
That being said - I answered the phone and they asked for someone who is not a known name at this number. Told them to bugger off with their phishing expedition, hung up, and went about my business.
Who knows what they do, or who they are? I really don't care other than the fact that they're a nuisance!
I hate these companies.

I received a missed call from the 214-269-4231 she said, her name is Vanessa call from Semetric and she would like to get an update information on payment status of past due invoice statement. Weird

This call was for the renewal of Symantec licenses. I do believe they are using a third party to provide the service (outsourcing).

Offshore telemarketer calling on behalf of Symantec regarding a contract renewal.
Hard to understand. I hung up.

Left a message saying they were with a legal firm for a name that was slurred and said super fast. Said there was one opportunity for them to take care of the legal cases that had just been filed and faxed to them. Seems pretty sketchy to me.

I received a call twice from this company and when I started questioning the lady on the other end of the line why the number was coming in one way but then the number they returned the call from was 214 versus the original 1-800- number. I also happened to notice a link between this company and a company that I had purchased items from and was receiving monthly mailings from. The lady kept trying to claim that no payments had been made for a 3 month duration which actually had been pulled from my checking when the company received payment. This company is pretty slick and the official name is Wildlife Explorer. I will be in touch with the BBB based upon their false practices. I found it very interesting how the lady I spoke with was extremely flustered when I started questioning her about the situation. Kind of makes you wonder.

Have received two calls recently. Missed both. No message. I'm in Australia. I have a gardening business. I haven't done tech support for ten years. If I ever answer a call from them, I'm gonna speak Norwegian to them. And then very broken English with a thick Nordic/Aussie accent ;)

Asked for the "IT Manager" calling from Symantec. Very poor connection and heavy accent. Up yours.

This number and another very similar to it call our medical practice MULTIPLE times per day, everyday for the past two weeks. They wait 6 to 8 seconds after we answer the phone and then hang up on us. When you call the number back you are thrown into a permanent purgatory in which no one ever picks up the phone!!

214-269-4231 = Telemarketer
I could not understand the caller. I thought they said they wanted to sell me Feminine Hygiene products, but I could be wrong as it was very difficult to understand the caller as they had a very thick accent, or a mouthful of Feminine Hygiene products. Not sure...

Called asking for an employee I've not heard of. Caller then asked if the address was correct. He gave an address of another one of our offices. He then asked for the phone number as well. I directed him to our website. He was polite, but asked if I could give it to him.
Not sure what they were looking for, but if it's legit, a quick Google will give him the answer.

The guy said he was from Symantic and asked for someone's name that I'd never heard of, at a business that I've never heard of.
I told him he had the wrong number and he politely apologized and hung up.

Just another scam, do not answer, do not call back, and REPORT THEM
They will leave a message asking you to call 866-481-3661 for a renewal.

Claims to be from Symantec - wanted to talk to who was in charge of the licensing agreements. Had the names of the two who are "in charge" but their data was over a year old. To be honest the voice sounded like a really good "Siri" like tone.

Received a call from this # from a woman with a heavy accent. Hard to understand her. She asked for me (pretended that I was not here) something about recipes?. Wanted to know when I would be available told her no thank you and hung up. Did not catch her name or the caller company. Accent to hard to understand, but do not want ths # to call again.

Call from Symantec to advise that a license agreement for Endpoint Protection was due. Totally legit, except this outsource company insists on hiring Filipinos who are sometimes difficult to understand and always pronounce my name (Doug) as DOG. Pretty insulting.

For a week now I have been receiving daily calls from this number. I live on the other side of the world and have no reason to be called by a company in Dallas Texas. Yesterday I answered their call and explained that I was not expecting any delivery and they must have the wrong number. So far I've had 2 missed calls from them again today. Fortunately I have now worked out how to block their number on my phone.

No message left. Glad I googled the number and came to this site. Sounds like a total scam by what other people have written.

The person named Daria/Dawa called saying that we needed to renew our Symantec license. This is the second call in a month. The first time, I forwarded the inforamtion to our IT, who said that we'd already renewed. Definitelly accented English.

lol... it looks like they changed their name to accurately reflect the nature of their business/ phone calls - To eliminate your wealth!
Enough people must've complained to the BBB, FCC, etc... about their scam.
